Bardock asked that the edit time be reduced to 5 minutes from 5 days. So now you can only edit your post within 5 minutes of posting.
It might change but that's what the deal is.

I think a cool idea would be to let you edit the last post you've made in any given thread (with a possible additional time limit on that). Or even just a global 'last post in the IC forum, and all previous posts can't be edited' type thing.
I've been trying to figure out if there are any mods that'll do it for IPB, for Another Destiny, but I know nothing about programming so it's pretty futile. Out of curiosity, Waff, how hard would it be to make something like that for a forum? You are the tech dude.

No, it won't be changed. If you remember on the Burning Boards the edit time was five minutes. There's no reason to need to edit beyond that time. If you need to change or edit a role-play, give it a twice-over before you post it. If you need to edit your OOC posts, think about what you're saying before you say it.

That's easy for you to say, you're a mod/staff whatever who can change their post at a whim but I get what you're saying and understand the reason for doing the time edit change thing.

Its an inconvenience, yes. But a necessary one. We've had too much trouble in the past with a number of things, to include people making posts to flame someone and then waiting till they respond flaming back, and then editing their own post to remove stuff so they can turn it around and play victim. That's just an example of some lameness, not the entire case.
