[Question] Androids - Sullivan - 01-18-2009 [00:13] SpotConspiracy: Ok, say you want to make an Android custom on Chubbs. Do you need to take survival as an ability? Couldn't it just be common sense that the character could breathe in space and shit? What with the robotic-ness and all. [00:13] SpotConspiracy: Like, would the person making the Android be forced to take survival to breathe in space? >.> [Question] Androids - Kaden - 01-18-2009 Dimitri Wrote:SpotConspiracy: Like, would the person making the Android be forced to take survival to breathe in space? >.> Yes. Alternatively, you could buy a rebreather and RP it as just being part of the Android. Moral of the story: you don't get anything for free just because you put "android" in the race. [Question] Androids - Sullivan - 01-18-2009 K. Thanks. An IRL friend of mine is joining and was wondering. [Question] Androids - Super Buu - 01-18-2009 As a random addendum to Dimi's question, what does survival do that a rebreather can't? The description just says "a temporary resistance to extreme conditions", what kind of conditions? [Question] Androids - Kaden - 01-18-2009 Any extreme environmental condition. Heat, cold, radiation, no air, etc., etc.. [Question] Androids - Ander - 01-18-2009 A Rebreather only lets you breathe underwater or in space. It doesn't affect your body's resistance to those two environments. If you go deep enough underwater, you'll get crushed by the immense pressure. If you go into outer space without some kind of force field, you'll be an ice cube in less than a second. Survival allows you to breathe without air as well as be able to adapt to those environments so you're not completely affected by it. While conceptually a robot doesn't need oxygen, their systems can still short out from the water (or be crushed by the pressure example listed above), or freeze over in outer space. [Question] Androids - Super Buu - 01-18-2009 Got it. I had a vague idea of what it entailed, it's just nice to know it fully for the future (Survival's one of those abilities I had my eye on). |
