This sounds like it would be perfect for XBL or the PSN.
Have to question their choice of medium, if it was, indeed, their choice. Teamwork-oriented gameplay involving strategic boss fights doesn't sound like it will lend itself too well to a handheld.
However, I'm more than willing to let high levels of badassery make up for minor gameplay deficiencies.
