They took it in a direction that was really not my style. DoW1 is still great though.

I just finished the story mode play through. And honstly...I feel as though I waisted money on a watered down version of dawn of war. I mean woo freaking hoo I have a few guys who matter and the rest of the team sucks for all intents and purposes. I wouldnt mind playing through on harder difficulty doing co-op. It's just at so many times during the game I was like damn if only i could build a barracks I could finish this level and slaughter everything. They took all i loved and killed it.

Not like there weren't many warnings that it wasn't your standard strategy game, it based a lot off Company of Heroes. I like the new gameplay but in truth I suck at it, and if I suck at it it doesn't exist.

I liked the single player enough to go all the way through, but it wasn't at all what I want from a DoW game.

I thought it was awful. Very disappointed.
EDIT: I guess I could clarify a bit. I was genuinely pissed that they slapped "Dawn of War" onto the title. If you're going to completely change everything about a game, call it something else. Don't try to lure in (and subsequently piss off) people by calling it a sequel.

Then we have the new campaign which is also great in my opinion, it kind of shows the MEHRINES like they're really depicted in the lore but can't be depicted in a game because it would hurl all game balance straight out the window, let them fall 400 feet before meeting the curb headfirst. That said I also like multiplayer of it, but I really suck at it and in that game, I just can't take losing 20 times in rapid succession without losing my last shreds of sanity.

Its just you know sometimes your killing a few enemies and then 50,000 jump out who are way stronger and omg when i fought the flame avatar my god i had to run away to a respawn point like a billion times.
