Strategy Defense 5. The best in the series. The older games simply don't compare to this one. The game is a campaign, with each battle being between three castles on either side (3 for you, 3 for computer).

You take turns attacking: first you train attackers using your cash, and the computer builds defense towers with theirs. Attackers trained at Castle 1 will head to the enemy's Castle 1, Castle 2 to enemy Castle 2, etc. Defense towers are placed in the wooded area on the defender's side of the field, which the attackers have to run through to reach the target castle.

There is a 10% chance that your units will be trained as a "white" and 10% chance the enemy units will be "black", meaning that they're faster and stronger. You can make more units by training weaker attackers, thus getting a better chance to have more super units, or buy the more expensive units which are more reliable, or a middle-cost unit that is okay but not too expensive. Additionally, every round you and the computer get to use a "special" ability, which attacks all enemy attackers on the field for moderate damage.

There are environments to deal with, such as water blocking the path of ground-based soldiers from being trained at a particular castle. The castles become progressively stronger, making them more difficult to destroy. The strategy is actually pretty fun for such a simple game.

I know people who actually enjoy playing DotA a lot, and they said LoL was like a worse DotA :[ That's why I've been avoiding the game, not to mention that thread.

Dota is super shitty. LoL is the same concept but with much less queerness.

Those people are probably playing HoN or Demigod or one of the other DotA clones. No one is debating "which version just blows their mind". People are just saying "Hey, we are enjoying playing this with each other, come join us."

EDIT: However, I in no way expect anyone to change a preconcieved notion that the game is made of utter fail. There's no reason as you'll like or hate whatever one chooses to like or hate.

For the record I've played LoL. I do not enjoy it because I do not like it, not because I prejudged it.

Strategy Defense - Pinky - 10-20-2009

And I'm totally taking the side of prejudging it. I mean, being tired of the limited novelty offered by DotA and trusting the relevant opinion of people I know is still prejudice, yes? If so, I'm doing that TO DA MAX

Strategy Defense - Kaden - 10-20-2009

Who plays DotA for the novelty?

Strategy Defense - Waffuru - 10-20-2009

It's okay Rod, we don't actually want you to play. The open invitation was really to everyone but you.

Sorry for any misunderstanding!

That's entirely fine. I don't mean to make it sound otherwise, because again, its not like this is the most amazing game ever, just something we are enjoying playing at the moment that happens to be free.

Strategy Defense - Tyr - 10-20-2009

So I tried it and all I did was create towers and zerg with a unit and then I won every match with little to no system. o.0

Strategy Defense - Waffuru - 10-20-2009

On a more on topic note, Strategy Defense licks dog testicles.

Strategy Defense - Pinky - 10-20-2009

I'm surprised you can type so well when you're busy circle jerking everyone like that. Impressive.
