Djora [Joining] - Djora - 06-19-2010

(Hello! Big Grin I'm excited to be here!)

Name: Djora ("JOR-AH" the 'D' is silent)
Race: Tritekians (Tritek-jins)
Sex: F
Age: 17
Starting Planet: Namek
Profession: Student

Stats:
Strength: 15%
Focus: 35%
Endurance: 15%
Agility: 35%

Fighting Style: Due to simply trying to gain an upper-hand over her numerous, stronger siblings, Djora has a tendency to dive into battle recklessly without bothering to conserve her energy or even to predict her opponent’s defense. It is for this reason that she is easily winded and has poor endurance. Her pride and her focus are her downfall in a fight, as she rarely knows how to give in. She has always done better play-fighting with her siblings than she has training with them – put on the spot, in a serious situation, she forgets how to be sneaky, and she certainly can be (klepto). On the defensive, however, she is extremely agile, and knows how to get out of more holds than she can put people in.

Short Bio: Djora is of a dying breed. Tritekians were once known for their prowess in battle, but their numbers have dwindled considerably and their planet is all but lost to them. It is for this reason that Djora's family moved to Namek, where they now continue to practice their passion, martial arts, despite being fairly prejudice towards every other race in every known galaxy. Djora, stuck in the middle of numerous siblings, has been unintentionally ignored for most of her life, and it is for this reason why she is constantly seeking her family's approval in training and in everyday activities. While she is generally quiet, her attention-seeking bursts of speech are ceaseless and proof to her fiery, sometimes obstinate, nature. When she is not being home-schooled by her close-minded parental figures she wanders the city of Eratic and pickpockets the clueless tourists - she is a klepto - while dreaming of bigger things and the one day in which she may stand as the strongest in her family... or in all the world, and perhaps beyond.

General Description: The seventeen-year old Tritekian has been mistaken for being a young human boy once or twice. It is not for a lack of feminine appeal, but rather the build of her body. She stands 5'5 with a petite frame, flat on all sides, and her build is just between lithe and wirey. At first glance, she doesn't seem to be much of a fighter. Tritekians are primarily humanoid by outward appearances, and can only be told apart by their wider irises, hardly noticeable at first glance. Her irises are the hue of bottle-green. Her dark mahogany brown hair is cropped fairly short and feathered, but not from any cutting-- it simply grows slowly. She has an impish smile.

Starting Abilities: Stealth, Ki Specialization
Trait: Tenacious

Cabbages

“Does it hurt?”

Djora did nothing, said nothing. She had not spoken since she hit the dojo floor, since her older sister Arahim stood over her, surveying the body below her with the usual lack of concern. “Does it hurt, Djora?” Arahim asked after a moment. But that was five hours ago.

“Does it hurt, Djora? Huh, Djora, does it?” It was eight-year old, overfed, dimple-faced Emmin now who poked her stubby finger into her older sister’s cheek, right where their elder sister had landed her heavy earlier that day.

“Did you lose a tooth, Djora? Huh? Did you? Does it hurt?”

Despite the stinging caused by her sister’s finger, Djora only breathed in carefully through her nostrils and continued peeling the cabbage for dinner. She stilled briefly, considering her sister’s comment, and felt along her teeth with her tongue. After deciding all was as it should be, she continued working on the cabbage. The meticulous care and concentration with which she peeled the giant cabbage could be compared to that of a native on Namek.

Emmin rattled on at Djora, simply content to listen sound of her own voice. She wiggled herself around on the countertop she had somehow managed to clamber up onto in order to observe her sister’s face more closely. It was a bruised face, she had noted aloud numerous times already. Black-an’-blue, on her cheek, just there. She didn’t seem to mind that her shrill goading easily filled the space of the small kitchen, which was the center of the small home which housed twelve mostly-grown Tritekians. Emmin considered herself mostly grown.

Growing tired of the volume in the room, their older, home-bent sister Tajah, who had been reading at the kitchen table, attempted to stop her. “Now then, little dumpling, let’s leave Djora alone. She has to have the cabbage peeled before supper.”

Emmin paused at that, and then wrinkled her nose. “I hate cabbage. I’m tired of cabbage. It smells funny, and it’s green like Namekens. Do you hate cabba-“ The eight year old had barely a moment’s pause to ask Djora her opinion before she found the gleaming blade of a large kitchen knife at her throat. Djora was gripping the hilt tightly, and there was no mark of emotion on her face, in her sharp, bottle green eyes, nothing that would reveal her true intentions to her baby sister, who stood staring up at her with wide, blue eyes.

“It’s Namekians, Emmin,” was all Tajah murmured, even after surveying the situation. “Namekians.”
