Short Bio: A man always on the wrong side of luck, Richard is desperately scraping together enough money to afford a life saving operation for his dying nine year old daughter, Clarise. His wife was the main bread winner until they divorced over Lazarus’ gambling addiction, where much of their money was wasted. All Lazarus knew how to do were magic tricks and illusions, but magicians don’t make a lot of currency. Instead he’s taken to employing those skills to scam people out of their money; while he feels bad about it, he refuses to let his daughter die because of his ineptitude.
However, everything changed one day when he riskily entered a poker game with some of West City’s most notorious criminals. Betting all he had on one hand, only one man challenged his intimidating bet; the leader of the outlaws. If Lazarus won the hand, he would be one step closer to saving Clarise, but he would not make it out alive. If lost the hand, conversely, his entire savings and any chance of his daughter seeing her next birthday were gone.
He stared at the two pair in his hands, somehow intuitively knowing that the ringleader had a better hand ...
