Joining as Captain Edward Reynolds - Edward Reynolds - 08-12-2010 Name: “Captain Edwards Reynolds” (goes by ‘The Captain’, 'Cap'n', and 'Edward', but never Ed, because he's not a damn redneck) Race: Unknown Humanoid (Generic) Sex: Dude Starting Planet: Earf Profession: Dreaded, nefarious, naughty Space Pirate Fighting Style: Adaptive and pirate-like Short Bio: “The Captain (or Cap’n, depending on how scurvy you’re feeling)” is an enignmatic figure, even to the most long-lived and trusted of his crew. His executive officer/first mate knows the most about the captain, but even her knowledge is not without its gaping holes. XO Amelia Jerilu (affectionately nicknamed ‘The Truck’ for her brutal, take-no-prisoners attitude) knows that the Captain has been around the block. She knows he’s been alive a whole damn time and that he’s not a human, despite his outward appearance. And although she doesn’t know all his secrets, she does know that he doesn’t wear those wristbands for fashion. She knows they’re part of some hoodoo that’s been plaguing the Cap’n for years now, and that a lot of their missions—pillages, technically—are carried out because he’s trying to get them off. General Description: “Almost Human” – Edward looks like your normal, handsome male earthling (most of the time, that is). He has cold, blue eyes and almost white blond hair that’s almost always slicked back with hair gel or foreign oils. He’s well muscled, and even if he weren’t attractive physically, he has an infectious charisma and wit that make most women (and men) weak in the knees. When he isn’t a suave, dashing man, the Captain is known to mutate pieces of his anatomy. He has a highly reactive and mutagenic genetic sequence that induces rapid mutations, although not many people have seen this and the metal bands around his wrists wreak havoc a lot of the time. Starting Abilities: Regeneration, Psychokinesis Trait: Tenacious Roleplaying Sample: “Captain! We have a lock on them with our photon torpedoes!” One of the senior weapons’ officers shouted without tearing his attention away from the screen that lay before him. To his left and right, his juniors manhandled levers and switches as they attempted to bring their own weapons to bear. “Reverse the view screen and fire all, Mr. Takura!” The captain of the vessel shouted as he leaned forward in his oversize plush command chair. If a bunch of little spitfires (shitfires, more like it) fresh out of the Galactic Academy wanted to try and hunt down Captain Edwards Reynolds of the Space Stallion, he would be more than happy to introduce them to the wonders of combat and fatally burst their little cherries. “Aye-aye, sir!” The lieutenant commander with the silly deep voice replied as he began tapping away at the command console. With a faint grin, the captain leaned back as the view screen switched to a posterior view of the vessel. A beat later, a volley of shimmering photon torpedoes erupted from their tubes near the rear of the ship. Even with a speed advantage, the smaller vessel (a cruiser to take down the Space Stallion? Tch!) was unable to break away pursuit before the explosives stitched their way across its circular hull. Before the last few bursts connected, the captain noticed a flicker of blue across the entire ship—the clear indicator that its shields had burnt out. When the final torpedoes hit, they bunched clean through the hulls of the vessel. The hulls of most Galactic Federation cruiser-class ships were palladium. Palladium was such a shitty metal that Edward often pondered how it managed to withstand the crushing like a tin can the minute the shields failed. “Hit!” Lt. Commander Takura boomed a few beats after the final torpedo punched through the hull. Edward heard the distinct sound of one of the seats in front of him swirl around, but he couldn’t tear his attention away from the sight of the ship floating dead in space. All around it, twisted shards of metal and unlucky people in the wrong place at the wrong time were floating outward—lost forever to wherever space pulled them. It was a somber mosaic of death and loss, but the captain of the Space Stallion couldn’t help but find it beautiful.
