Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Jonathan Meer - 03-10-2011

http://cdbzrpg.com/forum/showthread.php?p=552009#post552009

RULES: You only get 48 hours to make a post. That's 48 hours starting after your opponent's most recent post (or 48 hours after the fight was initially posted, if you are to post first).

Fights will consist of two posts from each person. The person who will post first is determined by a coin-flip prior to the beginning of the match. The posts will follow as 'A, B, A, B,' where the first person to post also posts third, and the second person to post also posts last. Each post will be kept to a strict limit of 1500 words. If a post is determined to be longer than 1500 words, it will be edited to be cut down to exactly 1500 words (even if that results in an incomplete sentence).

If one person does not post within their 48 hour allotment, then their opportunity is forfeit. Some exceptions may be made in extreme scenarios, such as family tragedy, but a good case must be made. If a person waits to inform me of the scenario until three hours after their allotment has expired, the exception will probably not be made. Defaulting on a post does not mean an instant forfeit, but it will likely negatively impact the community's grade of the fight. However, if a person defaults on both of their posts in one fight, they immediately lose the fight. If both people default on their fight...we'll figure out what that means if we get there.

For this first round, if a person did not post in the registration thread on Namek, then they will automatically be selected as first for their fight. If they default on their first post, they will be considered de-registered from the tournament, and another person may take their place. The following list indicates those 'standby' registees:

1) Mal Nova
2) Polk

Again, this is only for the first round.

The winner of fights will be determined by a strict community vote. If a fight-vote results in a tie, a panel of three judges, who are not participating in the tournament, will break the tie. When a fight is finished, the vote-thread will be posted in the RPG Discussion. All votes must be accompanied by a reasonable comments-and-criticism, to indicate that the vote is legitimate, and results from an actual read-through of the fight.

CA should not be taken into account for the purposes of voting.

All participants are expected to vote in at least three fights per round. If a person does not fulfill this obligation, the voting result for their fight will be docked for each missing fight-grade, along with further penalties at my discrimination.

No person may vote on their own fight.

These rules may change as time goes on; if so, I will inform all involved, and detail those changes below.

Is there going to be a qualifying round a la early Dragonball or are we going with the punch machine crap of DBZ? Or neither?

e: For purely RP purposes, just assuming our characters get through.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Jonathan Meer - 03-10-2011

Let's say part of the registration process is a check of your power levels with a 'scouter,' and let's say that each of you easily qualify.

Oi, can I fluid time like, a TINY BIT so I can catch up my personal with the actual tourney? We're not QUITE there yet lol

Like the Buu era one where they used the punching machine to create the brackets.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Jonathan Meer - 03-10-2011

Yeah, except that was lame. Gettin hit by a random NPC at a desk with a Scouter is AWESOME.

Hurrrrryyyyy

I'm going to say 'Yes that's fine.' But don't stall.

Got my post up. Sorry if it's hard on the eyes, grammatically, I don't have MS Word anymore. A lot of the grammar stuff I'm guessing on (Hey, even pro-writer's stuff is hard to read before the editor does his magic).

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - John Doe - 03-11-2011

I'll do my best to not post last minute. Big Grin

I'll give a shot at typing a post up over the weekend.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Aero - 03-13-2011

Love the fact that our posts are gonna be critiqued. It really makes you want to get the best out of writing.

I can feel the creative juices flowing.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Sigfried Hunin - 03-13-2011

I had drill this weekend so I'm frantically trying to catch up with writing! HRRNNNFGA

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Mal Nova - 03-14-2011

So... Do I need to make a post? even though Im on standby?

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Jonathan Meer - 03-14-2011

No.

EDIT: Feel free to, though.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Mal Nova - 03-14-2011

Let me do this post as a stopping point and I'll muster something up

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Jonathan Meer - 03-16-2011

The first post has been edited to include the brackets; they were selected entirely at random.

The first post has also been edited to include some of the rules for the tournament.

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Shou - 03-16-2011

Deja vu?

Budokai Tenkaichi I - General Discussion and Brackets - Alexander Trafford - 03-16-2011

Can someone reactivate Shou's roster please?
