Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Jonathan Meer - 03-17-2011

1 John Doe - Mafia
2 Kami - Hunter
3 Celena - Vigilante
4 Rem-13 - Mafia
5 Sophia - Sheriff
6 Whompt - Town
7 Rose - Town
8 Kaden - Mafia
9 Sigfried - Insane Sheriff
10 Piper - Town
11 Jarka - Town
12 Rafael - Town

What a game. That could've gone so many different ways.

It was particularly interesting watching Sig realize his role's 'insanity,' and how others interacted with him.

A huzzah for the townies.

Two sheriffs, sonovabitch...

Edit: Actually, never mind that, being Mafia twice in a row >=(

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

So... can we get an official explanation of what the roles did? I'm not sure what the difference between the Hunter and the Vigilante is.

Also... nice win guys. I was honestly thinking you guys were gonna get pwned hardcore. Also, no Doc make Whompt a sad panda.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Jonathan Meer - 03-17-2011

A regular Sheriff, and an Insane Sheriff. One is a big advantage to the townies, one is (potentially) a big disadvantage. It's chaotic how the two interact; in this case, the townspeople got through it pretty damn well.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

I think John being Maf twice in a row was actually beneficial for him. The odds of that happening actually put you pretty low on the suspicion totem pole.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

The best part at the end is that Piper and Sig went to repopulate immediately after getting peed on and killing a dude. Awesomeness.

The Hunter, if lynched, would have the opportunity to shoot and kill one other person. But only if lynched. Because Kami was Mafia'd, his role didn't come into play.

The Vigilante had the opportunity to PM me any night and name one other person he/she wanted to kill. The Vigilante, for this game, only had one shot.

For the Insane Sheriff, I returned the opposite answer for each person investigated (though Sigfried was not informed of this beforehand; to his knowledge, he was a regular Sheriff). So, for example, he investigated Kaden one night, and I 'informed' him that Kaden was a townsperson, whereas Celena (when investigated) was Mafia.

OR it makes you rip your hair out in frustration knowing you're doomed to failure a second time.

Granted, this time was actually a lot closer than last. The biggest mistake to having myself be Mafia again was that I feared the possibility of a doctor. If this was the first game, the killings would have hit Soph a lot earlier than it did.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Sophia - 03-17-2011

I did NOT want to reveal my role. You guys really forced my hand. xD

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

I don't think being mafia automatically means failure. Hell, you were so close to victory this game you could literally rape it anally. The last three days, if they had lynched wrong, you'd have won. I think you guys played an excellent game, whereas next time I think I'll try to be less.... forceful in promoting my strategy. Turns out insinuating other people are stupid makes you a prime target for anger lynching.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Piper Juunanagou - 03-17-2011

Yea, those last few days were pretty nerve-wracking. Had REM been non-Mafia, shit would have sucked for the townspeople.

Why's that?

Whompt Wrote:Turns out insinuating other people are stupid makes you a prime target for anger lynching.

What got you lynched was randomly trying to vote for whomever's name you saw first. As REM said earlier, you can "start shit" without throwing out votes. Putting down a vote makes it that much easier for the Mafia to jump on board and get easy, safe lynchings.

You said in the ChatBox that people (myself/REM) were only critical of your "methods" because we were Mafia when, in fact, it worked to our advantage having you just do random shit that didn't make any sense because it's that much easier to exploit someone using no actual logic whatsoever.

If we had actually been commenting because of our roles as Mafia, we would have been doing so in a manner that encouraged your "let's lynch someone and see what happens" mentality.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

Because if he hadn't been, the townies would have lost, as per the Mafia to Townie ratio rule.

Edit @ Kaden: Except that I gave reasons, which were to see reactions. I stated right off the bat that they might not be Mafia. But last game, a big thing that tipped me off to Piper being Mafia was the fact that every time she got accused, she would immediately blame her accuser of being Mafia.

Besides, anyone who would seriously look at someone saying "Let's Lynch Kami cuz he's green, lol!" or something along those line, and vote with the person would be highly suspect.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Kaden - 03-17-2011

Knowing Kami's role going into the last few days was hilarious. The Mafia were actually in a MUCH tighter position than they realized because of the Hunter's power. He told me he would aim at either REM or Doe if he got hung, which was amusing, to say the least.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - John Doe - 03-17-2011

Logical arguments don't work in this game.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Piper Juunanagou - 03-17-2011

I think the new strategy we should adopt is to lynch Doe first in every game. I mean, he's been Mafia 100% of the time. Highly suspicious.

That's why I'm sticking to hosting games from now on. Fuck random number generators (fuck Gangplank too).

Except that you can make the EXACT same accusations and give the same reasons without putting someone on the block.

In a format where, as soon as majority is reached the round ends, someone just getting a single vote can make all the difference in getting them speed-lynched.

EDIT:
Quote:(fuck Gangplank too)

Preach it, brah.

Blitz Mafia - Debrief - Blue - 03-17-2011

You know what sucks? If I don't start accusing random people next game, then I'm obviously Mafia. If I keep doing so, then I must be Mafia trying to get rid of people. :'(

Edit: And that might be beneficial for the Mafia, yes. Then again, it might not be if we pick right. Someone last game didn't even get a chance to defend themselves before the lynch. A well-reasoned guy like yourself could do a lot during a slow, drawn-out lynching process to shift the spotlight to someone else.

Besides, it was Day 2 and the townies were 1 down with no leads whatsoever. Yeah, I could have thrown around accusations without putting the threat of lynch in it. But then again, the risk of a lynch would cause a lot more fumbling to save yourself, in the same way that simply accusing someone of murder is less-threatening than a gun pointed at their head.
