I hope the staff forum already has a thread for this, but I was thinking that we should have a thread where members would put their ideas concerning activity here and how to increase it. Its always cool when the site is buzzing. Imagine if we gain 10 more members who were all as active as Kaden, Piper, or even Vad? (Im leaving Vic out so its more believable
)So Ill go first. When I started thinking about this I had a business like mindset about it. Increasing trafic through google and link travle bla bla bla, but then it hit me.
We're not the only play by post rpg out there, infact there are other sites that are very similar. Why not establish a merger? Obviously we may have to compromise such as allowing character transfers, crediting CA for work they have already done with our system and collaberation with their staff. Obviously we would need to analyze from every angle, however if done right we could increase our active member base tremendously.
Edit: Stay away from sites we are already close to. Doesnt do us any good to merge if its just our members who are active both here and there lol...

The problem becomes our method of doing things. Most DBZ sites I've seen support posting however you want (300 words or less) and in any format. They also don't have events effect THE ENTIRE universe. When I was briefly on Dragonball Rising Star browsing around I discovered that someone could nuke half the Earth and it wouldn't affect anything, but the world that person was RPing. (His/her little bubble of Earth.) They also didn't roleplay each others characters in fight at all. They very rarely took full control like we do with each other.

Lets face its most dbz fans are complete noobs when it comes to pbp(play by post) games, however that really doesnt matter... we are an all custom site now, baically we're just a supernatual game now and there are tons of pbp pros for that genre. Infact if you never watched dbz you could still easily love chubbs.

Something that I had been keeping pretty quite is actually very similar to this. Before anyone gets their hopes up, though, it never got mentioned because it's not going to happen. There was an RPG portal being created by the owner of RPG that myself and Waff used to be on and Chubbs was going to be the first addition to it. Sadly, their project ended up being shut down because the people he was working with lost interest. If I can remember what it was called, I'll link it. I found out their project was shut down a couple months ago.
I'll be upfront about this: I really don't know how to go about advertising the RPG. I think that's the best way to generate more activity, though. If people have other RPGs that they go to, by all means, either ask them about advertising or point us at them. Cross-advertising helps both parties involved.

I think we need to update or change the way Google intercepts us. I tried searching for different things on there, Dragonball Z RPG, DBZ RPG, etc. Unless I specifically search for CDBZRPG it does not pick it up within the first few pages. Also it appears we have a Facebook group with zero members, which was what I got instead of the site as I searched for Chubbs Dragon Ball Z RPG.
My lack of roleplaying has little to do with the quality of the site, by the way, I'm just not feeling the writing in a dbz universe atm, but that's probably because I'm reading fantasy books from like the middle ages. Guessing it'll pass.

http://rpg-directory.com/ is a good place to start. Find similar RPGs from there and contact them directly to get some affiliates. The more, the better. It helps to actually say hi or whatever in the chatbox of the relevant site too, just to be polite and also because people are like "who's that guy? Oh, the guy from THIS site *checks out*". Once you're listed, they may start to find and contact you too (as was the case with AD).

If we're going to advertise, then our current member base also needs to become more active. There is nothing more discouraging for me when I'm searching for a roleplaying site then clicking on the advertising link, looking around, and seeing no IC activity. That is a sure-fire way to keep me from joining, so I think that that holds true for other potential new members too.

That's true, but as is, the IC forums can't be seen as guests. I think we should see if we can open them up for view again, that would help.
I know for me, RPing wise, I set one day of the week for writing. Even if my post is only 300 words, it's a post

I write because I enjoy Vad & Trixie. I enjoy interacting with other characters as them. (Sage and Vad was epic). Me and Piper have done seriously epic shit as well.
I love writing with those I've written with and I still want to write with some of you so I'm holding onto my seat and just awaiting the time when I can. I'd love to write with Kaden and Sophia again. I enjoyed that spar we had before KillTown.
