[LoM-3] Day Three - Ashe - 05-23-2012

Blue has been Executed by the Trolls!

Blue was Nunu, an ordinary Player.

Maruset has hatched!

Kole T. Merr is still disconnected. He has until the end of this Day Phase to post or be given a Leave!

King B is still disconnected. He has until the end of this Day Phase to post or be given a Leave!

Ten Players remain:

1. Kaden
2. Blue (P)
3. Mal Nova (P)
4. Kayne
5. King B
6. Maruset
7. Rose
8. Android 17
9. John Doe
10. Kole T. Merr
11. Vad
12. Anzekay

Six votes will create a majority vote.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Kaden - 05-23-2012

These day/night phases are lining up pretty horribly with when I end up having to work.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Maruset - 05-23-2012

Clearly the obvious solution is to quit your job so you can be better prepared to Mafia.

Also, free at last!

[LoM-3] Day Three - Super Buu - 05-23-2012

If anyone is an investigative role, now would be a pretty sweet time to share some info. Otherwise, any ideas?

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

It's most likely that Anzekay, Vad, or Kayne have a power that affects votes, since they are the ones that didn't vote on Day 1 but did one Day 2, and Ashe said that "nothing happened" on Day 1. You know, besides a howl.

I obviously pushed for Mal to get people to actually do shit, but it ended up backfiring because A: people apparently stopped playing after their votes were cast, B: people who kept their votes for Mal are in the Mafia, and C: the voting buff power. Since King B and Teemer are going to be kicked off anyway if they don't post, I'd say we focus fire on anyone who voted for Mal on Day 2.

Any suggestions?

[LoM-3] Day Three - Anzekay - 05-23-2012

At the end of the day I was actually expecting no-one to get banned for a second time, because we didn't have the votes.

So, no, I don't have anything that can affect vote counts at all. I didn't bother changing my vote because I didn't think it'd make any difference (and I was too busy with uni assignments to read what everyone was saying Tongue)

[LoM-3] Day Three - Maruset - 05-23-2012

Well, given the fuck all we know other than that I'm not Mafia, I'm gonna throw a dart at a board and say we should put King B on ice.

Ban King B

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

There's no point in banning King B if he's just going to get a leave anyway. It would just be a waste of a day.

I'm really hoping whoever has the vote buff power isn't a troll. Ashe was saying something about that before in the aftermath of the last game, when he randomly assigned powers to anyone regardless of their faction. I'm really really hoping he didn't actually do that here, because we might as well give up now if the trolls get extra votes.

A vote buff power gets stronger the longer the game goes, so I say we ban them now, regardless of which faction they're on. So I'm going to ban one of my suspects with a RNG. And the winner was...

Ban Vad

Edit: Too many A's fucking fuck

[LoM-3] Day Three - Super Buu - 05-23-2012

Honestly, the highest person on my suspicion list right now is you, Doe. The entirety of the last round with the whole get everyone to vote for Mal, wait j/k, then Mal gets banned anyway just stinks to me. It's an easy way to get a free mafia kill during the day without taking any responsibility. If you are a troll, then you knew he was a townie so it would make sense to remove your own vote to avoid suspicion.

So that said, Ban John Doe

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

Yeah, I know that's how it played out, but how was I supposed to know about an ability that affects votes was going to come into play? Mal wouldn't have been banned otherwise. I still (wish to) believe that the trolls do not actually have the vote buff ability, since that would be game breaking bullshit. Course, the vote buff thing could be a one time thing, but still.

You're completely wrong in your accusations, and if you don't change your mind you're just going to end up banning another player and letting the trolls win.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Super Buu - 05-23-2012

So what exactly was the point of getting all those votes on Mal? If you already knew he was Teemo and a townie, you'da thunk you'd try to get information out of someone else, or better still stay quiet about the fact that you're an investigator.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Maruset - 05-23-2012

Hm. Well, since I derped and didn't see that king b won't be around much longer anyway
Unban King B
Ban John Doe

[LoM-3] Day Three - Kole T. Merr - 05-23-2012

So much craziness. It feels like this game is moving too damn fast.
Ban John Doe

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

John Doe Wrote:I obviously pushed for Mal to get people to actually do shit, but it ended up backfiring because A: people apparently stopped playing after their votes were cast, B: people who kept their votes for Mal are in the Mafia, and C: the voting buff power.

Reading what I type is a goooooooooood idea.

Everyone knows that getting people to do shit is what gets us our information. If I REALLY was a troll, I wouldn't have changed my vote at all. I'd just be like "oh shit we have a vote buff ability better watch out!" instead of "hey guys don't be idiots and vote off a townie!" Starting a bandwagon on somebody I know is a townie lets me gauge who is a troll based on who jumps on and when. That's why my vote stays on Vad.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Vad - 05-23-2012

Kaden you time traveling bastard. Stop living 3 hours behind me.

Hint hint.

Anyway. Blue was Nunu. I have no idea what his role was, but I know he ate minions for lunch and threw snowballs at your face.

Banning me is a bad idea. Trust me. I'm helping you.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Kaden - 05-23-2012

Ban John Doe

I'll explain when I get home from work.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Super Buu - 05-23-2012

I'm honestly not sure if this is Doe being sneaky or tactical or just Doe. I'm not sure there's a massive distinction either :p Just seems like a real leap of logic to say that Vad is a troll specifically for jumping on the bandwagon. I mean you both either are investigative roles or are part of the trolls who have another investigator, but of the two Vad has simply announced his information and defended himself. And I still think there's a lot of leaps in logic in your apparent ways to find out who's a troll.

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

I'm not saying Vad is a troll based on jumping a bandwagon, I was saying that Vad is a possible candidate for the vote buff ability. And, given that a power that influences votes only gets stronger the longer the game goes on, it would be in the best interest to remove said power from the game entirely. It's like the usual vigilante roles. Sure, there's a chance that they MIGHT be able to kill a mafia/troll, but it's much more likely that they'll just fuck up and kill a townie.

[LoM-3] Day Three - Kayne - 05-23-2012

I have no idea who to vote for Sad Going to have to give it a wee bit more time to think this over. Don't want anyone flaying my ass alive for making the wrong choice. x.x

[LoM-3] Day Three - John Doe - 05-23-2012

I'm going to explain everything in one post, again, so read it please.

Here's what happened during the last day. I voted for Mal (because that's what I always do until I have more information). Then the thread was fairly quiet, so I decided to pull a Waff and run a propaganda campaign to at least get people talking beyond Blue and Mal's back and forth. Around 5 hours away from the end of the phase, I revealed my card, which was that I knew Mal was a townie, and that he was Teemo (without being specific as to keep roleplays by Ashe interesting). I was very specific to reveal that I knew what champ he was as to add legitimacy to my claim. After all, if I wasn't, Mal could have called me out. So that play allowed me to ensure that myself and Mal trusted each other, at the very least, as well as creating a bandwagon to ban a (now) clear townie as to better gain information.

Unfortunately, only Blue listened to me, as everyone else either didn't care (Kaden) or just wasn't there anymore (either being "done" for the day and having input what they thought was enough to skirt past the radars, asleep, or lazy). And the curve ball ability that buffs a vote count ensured that Mal would be banned despite me retracting my vote.

Day 1, Ashe claimed that "nothing happened" during the phase, which I took as "no abilities went into play" during that day. Therefore, the vote power most likely belongs to somebody that voted on Day 2, but not on Day 1, and who voted for Mal. The three people that falls under that umbrella would be Anzekay, Kayne, and Vad. As I ALSO mentioned, it's very possible that the vote buff ability is an active ability, which would make all that deductive reasoning null and void. Even so, Anzekay, Kayne, and Vad are STILL the most likely candidates for owning said power.

Jumping on band wagons is an easy way for trolls to pretend to be working with the group while simultaneously eliminating players. Especially during the early game, where groups tend to be large, it's simple for trolls to hide among the crowd. Which is why I question the logic behind Rose's accusation. If I were a troll, why would I stick my neck out? Unless I was just playing stupid, the best strategy would certainly be to hide in the camouflage of wagons than to post a neon light on my head. Now, I could certainly understand that would suspect me if Mal was a troll, since then I'd be trying to defend my partner in crime, but he was clearly innocent.

Back to why I'm voting for Vad. He's one of the three I feel is most likely the person with the voting buff ability. I must have said this like 3 times already, but an ability that affects votes is incredibly powerful, especially the later the game goes. A single player holding so much power is dangerous, regardless of them being a player, a troll, or an other. Out of the three (again, Anzekay, Kayne, and Vad), I feel that Vad has the highest chance to be the target. Why? Kayne seemed hesitant to ban Mal, and Anzekay expressed interest to change his vote regardless. Vad was just throwing his chips forward with no intent of picking them back up. These observations change the odds by the smallest of scales, but the larger the odds the better, so Vad it remains.

***

Since I'm making a wall of text anyway, I might as well put my opinions on the rest out there, since I doubt I'll have any desire to continue posting like this any longer. Kaden is always suspicious, but I'll wait until he "explains" himself before saying why specifically, in case I give him a chance to blow off anything that would point attention to himself.

Anzekay, Kayne, and Vad all fall under the "possible vote buff" guys, and I already talked to death about that in the paragraphs above.

I don't think it's likely that Maruset is a troll, given that he was seemingly "killed" the first night and turned into an egg. It could also be that he is a troll, and he tried to kill somebody, but then was egged, but that seems unlikely for a troll to have such an ability.

Android 17 has been following my lead in voting for Mal the past two days. He totally could have been doing the same thing I was, just trying to start a bandwagon to see who takes the bait, but I don't really know.

I want to say that Rose is a player, but his broken logic is just confusing me while at the same time being "just enough" for players to jump on.

Teemer is not posting anywhere near enough to give an opinion about. Could be he's playing textbook troll and is trying to not be noticed, or he just disconnects all the time like he usually does.

King B is afk because he's a scrub.

***

I'm hesitant to reveal exactly what my power can do, but I'm willing to give a little more information about what Mal's Teemo power was. He could lay shrooms on people, and if somebody targeted that person, he'd know who that person was. It wouldn't stop their actions in any way, but he'd know, and they'd be told that they triggered it. Doesn't really matter since he's dead now, but hey, the more you know.

I think that's everything.
