Final Fantasy XI - Reijin - 11-13-2003

If anyone plays, I'm a Tarutaru named Aiden on the Seraph server. Currently a lvl 9 BLM (Black Mage).

Final Fantasy XI - Android-18 - 11-13-2003

Final Fantasy is great and all but I doubt I'd ever pay to play a game monthly...I don't even have a PS2. O_o.

Final Fantasy XI - Vegeta - 11-13-2003

It's only on PC currently.

I might pick it up once I finish building my new comp.. probably wouldn't play on the Seraph server though.

Meh, I'd prolly try once and then forget about paying again.

You don't get to pick your server. It's random, their way of keeping server stress down. If you want to change servers, you get someone to buy a "World Pass" and they give you the code, and then you create a character using that pass.

I hated EQ, and I didn't really enjoy ShadowBane. There were only two left I'd give a try... FFXI, and World of Warcraft (still waiting on the latter). FFXI blew me away. It's a LOT better than the other online crap, due to cutscenes and massive storyline elements. You can change your job classes and all sorts of crap. Very nice.

Final Fantasy XI - Vegeta - 11-13-2003

I know. That's why I said I probably wouldn't get to play on the same server.

You can just delete your character and create a new one until you get the server you want..

Here's the problem... I am a self proclaimed FF junkie, like many of you I'm sure, but my computer cannot support FFXI. Now you all must be saying, "so what? Buy a new one." But in my situation that is not so easy. I currently have $500, and my parents refuse to even try to look for a new one. I think what's going to end up happening is me waiting 1 more month (which will be my birthday/christmas/Chanukah time) then seeing how much money I managed to gather, then if it's anywhere near $1000 buying some decent comp that can hold me off for at least a year. Hell, I'd buy used because I'm so damn desperate... every day I wake twitching from not being able to play XI, it's a painful experience. I'm hoping X2 will ease the pain at least somewhat (which I already pre-ordered). If any of you have any ideas for me as to where I can get a pretty cheap PC, please tell.

Yeah. I don't have a computer that can run FFXI either. But I'm building a really good one so it's cool. :D

I don't think I forgot anything..

Final Fantasy XI - Raditzu - 11-18-2003

I almost got an Audigy sound card, but then i realized my speakers blow and i dont have the money to buy new speakers and an audigy.

Final Fantasy XI - Vegeta - 11-18-2003

I didn't want to get it. Then I was looking at my motherboard and realized it had no onboard sound. And I was like, "Fuckin' a"

How can you not support it? My comp is pathetic, but I can still play, albeit a bit laggy at times (especially when I start nuking the living shit outta stuff as a mage.)

Final Fantasy XI - Vegeta - 11-18-2003

No video card. Plus my Celeron processor runs at an amazing 946mhz.

Final Fantasy XI - Metal Koola - 11-21-2003

HAHA... sucker.

Final Fantasy XI - Metal Koola - 11-21-2003

Yeah, you don't have to tell me. That was back in the time when I knew nothing about computers. This one has helped me learn just how horrible it is... and wtf was I even thinking getting a voodoo3 ?

Final Fantasy XI - Vegeta - 11-22-2003

You thought they wouldn't suck so bad that they'd drop off the face of the earth?

Best video cards used to be made by nVidia, now the best are ATI.
