DBZ question - Reijin - 03-30-2005

I think the answer is that there are many inconsistincies in the shows and manga, and many theories by websites try to "explain" why things happened, when the reality is, the rules were made as the situations called for them to further the story. Happens in many shows and rpgs. Anyone read the Animorphs books? In the first book or so Jake uses Thoughtspeak to talk to Marco (or vice versa) while one of them are in human form and the other is in animal form. Now according to their later rules on that, only those in animal form should be able to broadcast their Thoughtspeak, meaning anyone can hear, but only those in animal form (or telepathic race like Andalites) could respond. But in book one, the other person responds by "thinking" at them.

Same with why the show allowed everyone to morph in 2.5 seconds instead of a few minutes of hard work and why they could also morph even the loosest of clothing (fucking windbreakers and JNCOs?) when the books state that only tight spandex style clothing (underclothes and biker/runner clothes stuff, swimsuits) and tight swim shoes could be morphed.

We try to maintain constistency with our own rulings on such, so as we say when someone goes "But in the anime blah blah happened" and we have to say "we are not the anime."

DBZ question - Raz - 03-30-2005

While I was reading all this stuff over I came up with a theory sort of thing. Being a Super Saiyan was everything to a Saiyan, correct? Forcing them to train harder and avoid any emotions that might bring them down in the sense of dignity. Now... Goku was sent to Earth when he was young, making him grow up with other humans as well as experience all sorts of different feelings that changed his personality. Vegeta on the other hand grew up under a strick "don't show emotion" area, making him cold and unfeeling to others.

Goku went SSJ out of loss of Krillian, Vegeta became SSJ out of a want and emotional moment he had when he relized he was weak. My guess is that the more 'human' blood that a Saiyan has in them indicates how much stronger emotions are to them, that might be a way to say it since Gohan and Trunks became SSJ-SSJ2 so early. That could also carry on over to Goten and Trunks during their timeline as well... yet I have no idea what emotions were involved in that.

EDIT: Reading off what Rei said, this is in no way directed towards trying to relate the RPG to the show/manga.
