[Server] A Real Head-Scratcher - Krillin - 01-23-2006 Garet and Poyomon walked for quite a long time. Garet's headache had almost completely subsided by now, but he did not question the supposed dream. Why should he? If it was anything like his other dreams, a hot chick would walk in, transform into a crinkly old lady, and strip down. At this point, his subconscious would mercifully wake him up before suffocation. Until then, he would walk around with the little blob and play along with whatever weird stuff his mind was cooking up. Poyomon spoke first. "I've gotta say, I'm very excited to meet you!" Garet looked down at the little guy. Somehow, he managed to walk just fine despite having no actual legs. "Oh? Why is that?" Poyomon stopped, stared up at Garet, and grinned. "I've been waiting for you my whole life, and that's a very long time! Now you're here, and we can go on all sorts of adventures!" Garet gave a quick glance around for grannies, but saw none. "Ah. For me, you say? Well, that makes perfect sense?" Poyomon giggled. "You think so? Good! I'm not a good explainer." Garet nodded, and continued walking. "So, what, exactly, are we supposed to do here?" Poyomon looked confused. "I thought you said you knew." "I'm testing you." "Oh, I hope I pass. Um...you're a Digi-Destined." Garet paused. "Huh?" "A Digi-Destined. You're supposed to come here, and I'm supposed to find you. You're here to help us, and I'm here to help you." "Right, of course. Now, why am I needed?" "Because we both can stop the bad guys. But either one of us on our own would not win. You help me get stronger, and digivolve, so we can help the Digital World." "Digital World," Garet began, "That's where we are now?" Poyomon bobbed his body up and down. Garet took it as a nod. "Tell me about digivolving." "How long is this test?" "Long enough." Poyomon sighed. He was getting bored. "Digivolving is when I get stronger, and become a new Digimon." "Digimon?" "Digital Monster. That's what I am." "Right, right. So you transform, eh?" "Right. I digivolve." "Can you show me?" Poyomon didn't have a brow, but nonetheless, he furrowed it in thought. "I suppose I could, now that you're here. I can try." Garet paused and stuck his hands on his hips. "Alright, let's see." [Server] A Real Head-Scratcher - Krillin - 01-24-2006 A brilliant light shone, dissipated, and shone again. What had originally been a digital coagulation gained a more stable and clean-cut look. He increased in size, but only slightly. Two odd ear-like limbs sprouted from his forehead, and he gained two legs. The creature was still rather spherical in shape, but he now resembled something similar to a very simplified cat, with no fur. That was, at least, more applicable to the animal world then a goopy glob. "It worked!" "You sound different." "I am different. I'm Tokomon." Garet was confused. "Wait, I though your name was Poyomon." "It was. I digivolved. I'm Tokomon now." "So you're the same person, just with a different body, voice, and name?" "Yup." "Creepy." "Yeah, kinda. I've never really done this before. I like having legs." "I imagine you do. It's a lot easier to walk with them than without them, you know." Conversation stopped. "Er, no offense, but you don't exactly look like you could take on any bad guys." "Of course not, silly! This is just another form. I can digivolve farther, but I'm not strong enough yet." "Neat. When will you be strong enough?" "Now that you're here, really soon. I hope." "Gotcha." Garet's stomach rumbled. For a dream, this was incredibly realistic, despite the talking monsters. "Hungry?" "Yeah. Do you have any food?" "Sure! Follow me!" ((OOC: If you guys are getting annoyed with dialogue, I apologize. There will be more actual description later, but for now, my focus is on Garet and Poyomon's/Tokomon's growing relationship. I don't see a need to describe the tree's they're walking by.)) [Server] A Real Head-Scratcher - Krillin - 01-25-2006 With an actual direction and goal to search for, Garet set off toward Tokomon?s leading. The little guy was surprisingly agile and fast despite his obvious impediments, leaving Garet to job lightly behind him. The road they walked on was like everything else he had seen thus far in the world: unspoiled, undecayed, and lightly shining. Back and forth they ran, until finally, a small Town came into view. Surprisingly, this town looked quite like towns back home, something he had not quite come to expect amidst beaches and forests. Instead of people, though, the town was filled entirely with Digimon, running to and fro for menial tasks. The road they were walking on widened and grew smoother, spreading into the city and becoming the main street. Restaurants lined the bricks, offering all sorts of delicacies. Garet?s stomach grumbled again. ?Where do you want to eat?? Tokomon inquired. ?What?s good?? Tokomon?s eyes grew flat and his mouth widened in a humongous smile. ?All of them!? Garet looked around, found one with a name that sounded Italian, and made for it. ?Excellent choice, that?s my favorite!? ?Sweet.? [Server] A Real Head-Scratcher - Krillin - 02-15-2006 They found a suitable restaurant, one that looked plenty capable to suit their needs. But, as soon as they set foot on the tainted tile floors, they vanished. Or, more precisely, they disappeared from sight in one place and reappeared much the same in another. "Hello? What happened, eh?" Garet asked. Tokomon, not surprisingly, didn't have a suitable response. "Well...ah...I don't really have a suitable response for that one." "So you don't know where we are?" "What, now that I'm "your Digimon", I'm supposed to know every little weird thing that happens?" "Well, it's your world. I thought you'd have a suitable explanation for this kinda stuff," Garet replied. "Ever had your computer crash on you, and you can't figure out why?" Garet thought for a moment. "Yeah." "That might be the cause of this, then. Computers are some of the most unpredictable creations on the planet. The "users" think they're telling it what to do, but in reality, the computers (at least, the more upright and noble ones) have already guessed what is going to be done, and tries to help you out by doing it for you. Or so they think. More often than not, they get it wrong." "Oh." They sat in silence. "So, what exactly does that have to do with anything?" Tokomon sighed. "Apparently, the overall structure behind the Digital World thought you were going to try to leap to wherever it is we are now instantaneously. Incredibly potent being, our Digital World is, but rather gullible." Garet decided to simply nod and look as though he was understanding what was being said. Obviously, he didn't. He suspected that he would always remain quite ignorant of the dealings of this Digital World, and in that, he was partially correct. Garet looked around and tried to figure out why he hadn't really been able to get a bearing on his surroundings. At first, he thought it was because his eyes were closed. Then he realized he was in a very dark room. Then he realized his eyes were actually closed after all. When he looked around, he found himself inside a very large and wet cardboard box, with sides tall enough so as to restrict view of his surroundings. "Ah, that's weird," Garet noted. "What, the cardboard? Yes, I was just thinking that myself." "Shall we have a look, then?" "I don't really want to. I'd be just as happy to stay here and not know what's out there than to look outside and see sparkling meadows. No thank you." "You know I must, then," Garet said. "Do what you will." |
