Star Wars - Old Captain Silver - 03-18-2006

anyone know of any good Star Wars PC games that are worth buying? I need some more.

Star Wars - Tobias - 03-18-2006

Knights of the Old Republic 1&2

Republic Commando

Empire at War

Funny thing is, each one is a completely seperate genre.

Star Wars - Old Captain Silver - 03-18-2006

Republic Commando - Believe this is a first person shooter.

Empire at War - no idea what this one is.

tell me if I am wrong. Republic Commando sound interesting though. Any others?

Star Wars - Uno - 03-18-2006

Empire is a point and click game, pretty fun too. Um... Star Wars Galaxies? Do that one only if you got money and lots of free time. Oh, what else? Battlefront is PC and that?s fun too. Hope I helped.

Empire at war is a RTS.

You can get the demos for Commando and Empire here:

http://www.filecloud.com/

To test 'em out before commiting.

KotOR I&II are simply the hieght of awesome as far as RPGs and StarWars go. This is just my opinion but hot damn, if you've never played them at least get number one. If you're into RPG games anyways. Its only 20 bucks.

Star Wars - Orion - 03-18-2006

Dude, buy KOTOR 1. It is awesome. It's one of my favourite games, and most people would agree that it's probably the best Star Wars games out there. Plus, like Garlic said, you won't pay more than $20 for it, 'cause it's like three years old.

Star Wars - Raditzu - 03-18-2006

I would suggest KOTOR 1 over any of those other games listed. Followed by Republic Commando (pretty fun, but its way too short) and then KOTOR 2. I would really not recommend Empire at War. I like Real-Time Strategy games and all, but... it... I dunno. I just really didn't like the game. As with most Star Wars games it suffers from the "OMGZ I HVAE TEH OBI-WON1111" syndrome where the only real reason to play it is to train the heros and watch them be so overpowered that they completely demolish everything else in sight.

So... yeah... KOTOR ftw.

Star Wars - Super Buu - 03-18-2006

I got KOTOR 1 second-hand, but I've left it for a while now. It can be pretty painfully boring at times. That's just my opinion, so don't castrate me if you're a fan >_> I intended to buy 2, but ... never finished the first.

I'm amazed nobody has mentioned Battlefront 1/2. I haven't tried it on the PC but I'm willing to bet it would be better because of the controls. I only have it on PS2 because I have practically no PS2 games and too many PC games for my memory to hold. It's not the Best Game Evor, but it's great to pick up every now and again for fun. As well as that, the multiplayer rocks.

Star Wars - Krillin - 03-18-2006

Dark Forces is a classic Star Wars game that feels like Doom. It's pretty old, so it'll be cheaper, but the graphics probably won't stun you.

In other words, if you find it for $5 or so, buy it. It's just fun.

Star Wars - Super Buu - 03-18-2006

Ah, I forgot to mention the Jedi Knight series.

Get Jedi Academy. It's not hugely lengthy, but you start out with a lightsaber and you get to choose what force skills you develop (lightning/healing etc, there's 4 powers for each side of the force and 4 'neutral' powers that develop naturally). You also get to choose your character's appearance at the start of the game (there's a few different races, though my favourite, zabrak, only comes in a female option). It's pretty fun, crazy online multiplayer modes too.

Star Wars - Old Captain Silver - 03-18-2006

My dad got that. I have yet to sneak it from him and install it. I got KOTOR 1 but it kinda crapped out on me. Kept stopping at one specific point.

Star Wars - Bra - 03-18-2006

Rebellion. It's like, ancient, but easily the best SW game out there. It's a massive RTS, having you manage a galaxy rather than an individual planet, etc.

You'll probably need to patch the hell out of KOTOR. Both 1 and 2 get pretty seriously buggy at certain points in the game.

Star Wars - Alsa - 03-21-2006

SW:KTOR 1 and 2 are good. And some earlier versions of Republic Commando will have the squad not automaticly getting up from their sniping positions. The newer one's dont though. A good online Star Wars RPG is Star Wars Combine. SW Jedi Knight Jedi Academy had really bad graphics like a N64 but is the second best SW game I've played up to date. Or you could try google or ebay. I'm a huge SW video game nerd and have most for X-box. But I have some for the PC. JEdi Academy is kinda easy depending on the mode you put it on. Try hard. Star Wars lego kinda sucks really bad.

Star Wars - Metal Teemer - 03-22-2006

The entire X-Wing Series. They're oldschool, so they may be hard to find. You especially want TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. As for Empire at War, Rad is correct, it is a lot of "OMG I HAVE TEH OBI 11111!!!!" and watching him rule. Except instead of Obi-Wan, I prefer Han & Chewie. Anywho. I seriously have almost every Star Wars game made EVER (although I'm still missing Rebel Assault I). Battlefront II and KOTOR are your best bets for good gameplay.

I knew I was forgetting something! Yes. These are, by far, the best Star Wars games made to date. Just make sure you've got a good Joystick and plenty of time.

Fantastic stuff, and you could probably find them in a bargain bin (if you can find a copy at all).

You wouldn't say that about the N64 if you were a true gamer.

Star Wars - Krillin - 03-22-2006

Why? The N64, in comparison to today's systems, has poor graphics. It's not opinion, it's a fact.

That said, I love my N64, but none of its games can touch Metroid Prime or that new Call of Duty for the Xbox360 graphic-wise.

Star Wars - Orion - 03-23-2006

To today's standards, perhaps. I've never seen N64 graphics as bad; there was a lot worse graphics in the systems before them.

Star Wars - Tobias - 03-23-2006

I liked the SNES graphics more than the N64's. =x

Now I understand it was the a step in the right direction, but it was like the puberty of graphical development.
