Alright, apparently my brother bought World of Warcraft today and now he's waiting for a credit card number to start paying for it. So I was wondering... who played it on here again? =o

I just started playing.

Nooooo... stop taunting me with you MMORPGs people.

oh my WOW - Raz - 03-21-2006

My brother's optimistic about playing it... really wanted to get started with the online FF though.

WoW is entertaining. If you're not jaded to the MMORPG thing, WoW is likely going to be very addictive. You level up FAST in World of Warcraft - having many level 60 characters is not an abberration. The PvP design is fun and engaging (at least from what I've experienced).

That aside, I've heard complaints that there isn't TOO much to do once you're 60 which, as I said, doesn't take a huge amount of effort - Everquest, this is NOT.

Meh, was hoping the level restriction would be a bit higher.

It will get higher in the Burning Crusade expantion.

Having followed the game since around a year before it's launch and only stopped playing recently, I'd say WoW is a very decent game, probably the best MMORPG currently out in my opinion >_>. The only problem is high-end content. I just don't see the point of continuing to play at 60. Molten Core and all those 4-hour dungeon fests which are organised with 40 people you don't know are just ... drudgery. That's why I passed over GM for my guild and moved over to Chubbs full-time.

Up until 60, though, it's a blast. The quests are very inventive and not all the same. For example, there's a quest that requires you to venture out into Desolace and 'round up' kodos using a kombobulator or something. The PvP is fun and involving unless you get a group of sarcastic idiots (speaking of which, don't go onto the WoW forums unless you want to leave bitter, hateful and whiny).

Mostly my main qualm is the community, at this point. Quite a lot of nasty people, but at the same time a lot of good people. The problem is, if you want to be in a small guild with friends, you can't do anything at level 60 because of how raids are organised. And big guilds are usually full of drama.

Still, get it and play it until 60 and just consider it a very long game with 60 as the 'end' until the expansion hits. Wink

You won't see your brother for a while. I myself have never played WoW (or any other MMORPG for that matter...) so I can't give you a direct opinion, but I know it's got to be a really addictive game. One of my friends got it, and is practically in love with it. He was all happy to be done with practice, because he had to get back and help people on there beat some boss guy or whatever. Only real input I can give on the game, really. Sorry.

I'm gonna have to kill him soon. He's playing and I have to Rp.

Oh, I made an undead rogue thingy... only thing I know how to do right now is make him dance. ^_^
