WoW funeral - Metal Koola - 04-10-2006 I don't know if I posted this or not... because I'm a bit out of it at the moment... but this is hilarious. A clan attacked another clan that was having a funeral service for a member who had actually died. Caught them with their pants down, so to speak. ha, almost forgot the link. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7667194685876573666&q=serenity+now WoW funeral - Yamu - 04-10-2006 The actual 'posts' the video presents I can't read... WoW funeral - Belle Hibiki - 04-10-2006 It's a pity, because I would really like to read that... This almost makes me want to play WoW again.
WoW funeral - Belle Hibiki - 04-10-2006 I don't hate it, it's just with school, this place, EVE Online and other games, I don't have much time to dedicate to WoW. I enjoy the game (particularly the community) when I play it, but I hear that there's a lack of high level content. WoW funeral - Belle Hibiki - 04-10-2006 They posted the time and place (it looks like) on a public forum that the Horde could see on a PVP SERVER whose whole world and backstory is defined by war. The fact that what happened is a shock to anyone is a testament to their naivete. WoW funeral - Burter Jr - 04-10-2006 It was funny, but it was still an asshole-ish thing to do. WoW funeral - Raditzu - 04-10-2006 Hahahahahaha... guess it turned into a mass-funeral, eh? Oh man... good stuff. I'm sure those SN guys were laughing their asses off as they completely dominated. WoW funeral - Raz - 04-10-2006 I found it poetically ironic, love it all the same. xD WoW funeral - Super Buu - 04-10-2006 I would hope the raiders couldn't look themself in the mirror anymore. Though, at the same time it would have been smart not to have it in a PvP-flagged area. ![]() Reminds me of that time my clan had an in-game wedding between two undead, mainly for comedical purposes. WoW funeral - Old Captain Silver - 04-10-2006 That was screwed up in my opinon. I want to get WOW but my laptop has no memory left and my other computer sucks. That and i have no money WoW funeral - Hellfighter 17 - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Raditzu WoW funeral - Reijin - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Super Buu I have to agree with him and Burter. It was fucked up, but at the same time hilarious in the fact that they basically asked for it by going to a PVP area. That's like having an abortion clinic standing in a churchyard for an abortion meeting and not expecting people to show up with signs or baseball bats. WoW funeral - Amadeus - 04-11-2006 I don`t think this is funny. The guild who lost their member probably played on that server so that is the reason why they held the ceremony there. Also, the reason why they posted it publicly is beacuse they ASKED that nobody messes the ceremony. If you watched the movie, it was the post right before the in-game part began. I have heared of many cases where people lacked respect, but this was simply pathethic. :O How would you feel if you made a thread on Chubbs saying someone you cared for died and then someone would spam the hell out of the thread, justifying it by saying that you posted on the Asylum and that you were simply begging for someone to spam it? WoW funeral - Banned Dana - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Jackie Chun oh yeah...Jackie comes in with the bitch slap. Personally, I thought it was a fucked up thing to do, but if you look at it this way...it's a game...that's it. People now a days get too caught up in the games and take whatever happens in them to heart, which is stupid and pointless. If they wanted no one to mess with them, they shouldn't have posted it...at all. Sure it was nice of them to do a ceremony for a friend and fellow gamer, but honestly...a game...built on war...funeral...during a war...it just doesn't mix. I guess I understand the sentament, but just don't find the logic. Games are meant to be fun, not to be work, not to be taken overly serious. When you do, you're just asking for heartbreak and that's what they got. WoW funeral - Raditzu - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Android 13 Thank you. WoW funeral - Belle Hibiki - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Raditzu Bolded for truth. WoW funeral - Amadeus - 04-11-2006 I understand your point and I know it is supposed to be fun. But when someone shows respect to a former player who will never get to play with them again, it should be honoured. Sometimes it is even organised. For example if a important football (a.k.a soccer) player dies, they organize a minute of silence for him on a match. The fans pay their respects, despite the fact they went to the match to have fun. If it was a on a RP server, Im sure they would have kept quiet about it and did it without warning. But like this they had to in order for people not to attack them while they do so. It was really low of Serenity Now to attack them. When someone posted about the death of their loved one on Chubbs, many members payed their respects and nobody spammed the thread. Why should it be any diffrent for WoW? WoW funeral - Super Buu - 04-11-2006 Personally, though it was stupid to put the funeral in a flagged area, I would have paid my respects anyway. Even as a member of the opposite side, I would have gone in, /bowed, and not attacked anyone. I've had many instances in-game where I've worked together with the opposite side, and it's really cool. I don't really play WoW (or didn't really play WoW) for the phat lewt, I play it for fun experiences like that. Things like me and a few of my friends running across the Barrens naked and throwing snowballs before going into Ratchet and killing everyone whilst still naked, are why I play the game. In my experience, though, a lot of WoW players are just jerks. The forum is proof of that. And for that reason, I much prefer smaller communities.
WoW funeral - Hellfighter 17 - 04-11-2006 Even if someone did the most heinous, disgusting, vile thing ever, it can still be hilarious. I dislike it when people say 'That's not funny' in all seriousness just because it's a racist joke or something. It may be disrespectful, but that doesn't mean it cannot be funny. Also, I am not very well-versed in World of Warcraft, but if they could have not done that in a PvP server as SB hinted out, they weren't being vary smart with it. =\ WoW funeral - Raditzu - 04-11-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Jackie Chun Because Chubbs has constant staff moderation. We wouldn't allow that. |
