I almost finished an RPG in RPG Maker. Had all the story, all the towns, all the dungeons, all the movement and stuff, but hadn't actually got most of the combat. I had just finished up the 'noob baddies' when that computer ended up exploding into little pieces (more or less). Understanably, I haven't picked up RPG maker, or anything resembling it, since.

I was thinking about trying to do an RPG of one of the Chubbs sagas, but that would be really, really, really difficult.

No, but it would be very time consuming...I wouldn't mind trying it, but the problem is, you'd have to find a lot of the files for characters that are really uncommon...Such files are battle animations and the like.

Woo, at first, I looked at it, and was like, "hey, that looks pretty cool!" then I looked at the "help" manual, and was like, hmm... no. I just don't have that much free time on my hands to even consider trying something like that.

Right, but that's technically illegally. It's actual pay-to-use software. There were a few illegally translated copies from Japanese to English, but these were unofficial, and I believe there was a lawsuit over it.
So, I'm sticking with RPG Toolkit until I work up my funds.
