Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Burter Jr - 06-26-2006 Raditzu Goten Android Thirteen Metal Koola Blue Raditzu will supply you with a team-based task. He will decide who advances into the second pre-lim stage based off your performance during the task. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raditzu - 06-26-2006 Your first task is two-fold. You're going to create a new RolePlaying mechanic for Chubbs. The first part of this mechanic involves creating Teachers. The second part of this mechanic involves creating genaric "fighting styles" for people to train for. Here's an example of a fighting style:
While the main emphasise will probably be on the fighting styles, make sure the Teachers are unique and interesting as well. Give them personalities, abilities, stats, backgrounds, quirks, whatever. A certain teacher may only want to teach Namekians, while another may only teach women. Use your imaginations and come up with something that will grab people's attention. Just saying "Here's NPC John who can teach you how to do a handstand" will not impress me much. ----------------------- Before you get started, though, I want everyone to PM me two things. First: your level of interest in this idea and what you like/don't like about it. Feel free to be perfectly honest. Second: a list of your other members in a "staff" style set-up. You will choose one "Admin" one "Super Mod" and two "Mods." These levels will affect the different levels of authoirty someone will be given in the group, so choose carefully. If you think you're the best qualified to be an admin, don't hold back to look modest. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Burter Jr - 06-26-2006 If you guys didn't get it, you can post all ideas and work done here. Communicate with each in this thread. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-26-2006 Ok, what I'm thinking is this. We can do this 1 of 2 ways. #1: We can all just spit out a fighting style/teacher and vote on who's we'd like to seriously work on and then team up on that one and when the admin is named, he'll just assign who to work on what. or #2: We can all just work independently on our own and then share our ideas with each other and help each other improve on whatever style and end up with 4 different styles. Personally, I'm going to say number 2, but I would like you guys' input. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Whompt - 06-26-2006 I believe number 2 would give us the greatest chance of success. Besides, I think Rad wants more than one style anyway. If we can all knock out two, that'd be great as well. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raditzu - 06-26-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Burter Jr I'm going a step beyond that. As far as eliminations go, I'm only considering what is in this thread, and the inital PM you send me. If you didn't post it in here, I don't care if you did it or not. Blue is correct about me wanting more than one style. If you were going to introduce this to an RPG, would you only present them with one option? Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Whompt - 06-26-2006 That shouldn't be too hard. I mean, even if we get an AIM chat going to work on our stuff, it's easy enuff to copy and paste what we did in there into this thread. Thanks for the heads-up, boss. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-26-2006 so do you just want the final products posted here, or can we just throw out what we have thus far and get other opinions on it? Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raz - 06-26-2006 We could throw some brainstorms/notes in here and go from there, something from one can help another. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-26-2006 This is what I currently have. I wanted to base some fighting abilities off of something a little less violent...I like what I have, but I'm always open to ideas. Whitelighter Style - Defensive/Healing Skills Reason for this style: Well, it?ll be a way to make some characters a little more passive aggressive than just brutally aggressive, it just adds a bit more flavor into the rpg than the constant raw fighting. Having some characters that would rather fight only when needed to and heal those that he/she loves/likes is something that I personally would love to see. Brief overview: Whitelighter Style is a defensive approach to any situation that requires physical confrontation and the ability to heal allies in battle. Throughout the training you will learn different maneuver to outwit your opponents and in the end, come out with as many alive as possible. Though this is more of a self-defense training course, with the right amount of force, you can render your opposition useless, or in worst case scenarios, kill them. Whitelighters are known widely for their teleportation and healing abilities, however, the lessor known facts are their self-defense techniques with incorporate ki and force together. Though they aim to not kill, they have been known to extinguish their foes? lives if all else fails. Using different shields and energy blasts, the whitelighters became Heaven?s army. Instructor: Leo Planet: Afterlife - Heaven Restrictions: minimum mental stats, 400 each, no physical requirement. Instructor Statistics: Name: Leo Race: Human/Angel Power: Unknown but said to rival King Yama?s. Hair Color: Brown Eyes: hazel Height: 6'2" Sex: Male Body: Athletic, though is unseen due to robes. Clothing: White robs with angelic symbols on arms and back, with a hood. Likes: A well rounded physical fighter, ie: Nearly even physical stats will get you further faster than someone that is quick, but can?t damage much. Racial barriers: none, Leo likes them all. Background information: Leo, once a human doctor, was killed whilst healing wounded soldiers during war. Due to his gracious and pure life, he was met by King Yama in the after life and offered a right hand position to the king to help guide an elite group of angels that specialized in healing, known as Whitelighters, who?s sole purpose is to watch over those that have evil plaguing their lives and to counter balance any evil that is done onto them through the Healing technique. Leo is a good hearted human/angel. He enjoys jokes, so long as they stay clean and no one gets hurt. Though people perceive him as a ?pansy?, the guardian angel can leave quite the hurting on those that get out of line, it?s best not to push him too far, or he?ll kick you out of his training, literally. Requirements to train under the Leo:
(Note about the purity trail: You don?t actually have to have a ?pure heart?, Leo is just looking for good reason to give you the ability, so if you?re evil, have faith in your rp?ing ability, you?re going to need it.) Training: Training with Leo takes a serious amount of concentration and strong will. During his tasks, expect to be pushed to limits unlike any other trainer has been willing to push anyone to. His curriculum consists of not only physical, but deep mental training that can bend and even break the strongest willed fighters, however, upon completion of his training, you?re weakness? will become your strengths. Throughout the training you will learn that the art of fighting not only requires muscle, but it requires concentration. In order to receive the different levels of fighting and healing skills you must meet the requirements provided. Technique levels: Healing: A very rare technique that gives the user to heal various different injuries that may occur within their journeys. There are three levels of healing and each is specified by a different amount of mental stats. Level 1: Simple Aid
Level 2: Advanced Aid
Level 3: Healing

Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raditzu - 06-26-2006 Something you might want to consider, 13: a new member starts out with 450 mentals. Also, I want this to be new material for you guys. I say this because, frankly, it looks like you pulled that from somewhere else, 13. If you say you didn't, I'll believe you and congratulate you on impressing me with that level of... professionnalism in the appearance of your post. EDIT: I may have misread. Did you mean Intelligence, Luck, and Determination must be at 400/500/600 individually or all together? Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-26-2006 I didn't pull it from anywhere(and it's 100% new, though I wish I could prove it my word is all your really going to be able to get =\ ), I always try to make my threads like this look nice, ask Panbuukin. Nice to know it looks professional though, it was the look I was going for. But for the mentals, yeah, it's all mentals(individually) at 400, not 400 combined...sorry, should have explained that a bit better. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raz - 06-26-2006 Can it be a teacher/technique of an already exsisting ability? Along the lines of what Lord Vine is with Metal Binding? I have an idea which involves already exsisting abilities which are, at the moment, given through staff-ran sagas. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raditzu - 06-26-2006 13: Like I said, if you say its new, then I believe you. Ten: Sure. Bear in mind that a teacher doesn't necessarily have to be limited to teaching a single technique. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Raditzu - 06-27-2006 Thread locked until I recieve MK's PM. Android 13 Super Moderator Blue Moderators Metal Koola Son Goten Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-28-2006 Mage Style - Elemental Skills Reason for this style: Well, we have some rocking elemental skills and almost no real way to integrate them, they just seem to be handed out to people just randomly, so why not have a style that?ll allow you to master a certain element and with it?s mastery, you can even become resistant to it. Brief overview: Mage Style is an ancient art that was long forgotten by all, except one Elemental Master, Rayden. Having defeated most of the universes strongest and most evil threats, the God of Lightning reached out into the depths of his body and extracted the elements from the heavens and transferred them all into 6 different Mages. Upon earning these powers, Rayden charged the Mages with the task of training only those that they deemed fit to earn such techniques. Each Elemental Mage has their own particular wants for each element as so long as the person seeking training possess these, they may request training from the most powerful beings in the universe. Instructors: Instructor: Tsorf Planet: Frost #231 Technique: Cyrokinesis Restrictions: AP of 450+ Instructor Statistics: Name: Tsorf Race: Changeling Power: Base ki: 11,000,000, has Transformation 5. Hair Color: n/a Eyes: white Height: 7'9" Sex: n/a Body: Bulky. Clothing: Where?s blue Sayajin Armor over his body. Likes: Anyone who he deeps worthy. Racial barriers: Sayajins have a difficult time getting into this training course due to their extended rivalry with the Changelings, however, some Sayajins have been able to gain access by proving their worth and staying obedient to the cyro master. Background information: Having been one of the few selected by Rayden himself, Tsorf was blessed, or cursed, with the ancient ability of Cyrokinesis. With this power, the Frostling used his powers to negotiate some tight situations between his planets and many others. Knowing that power would grow with every generation, Tsorf has found that teaching the others, through Rayden?s blessings, would be the only way to counteract the growing threat of external powers. Hoping that perhaps giving the ability to those that he deemed fit, he could creak an army that one day may have to rise up against an unknown threat. Requirements to train under the Tsorf:
(Note: Sayajins will have a tougher time earning passage into the training, but the actual training it?s will be about equal for all individuals, though Tsorf will constantly remind the Sayajin of his ?unfit? heritage.) About the technique: Cyrokinesis:

Instructor: Malfe Planet: Mercy-sei Technique: Pyrokinesis Restrictions: AP of 500+ Instructor Statistics: Name: Malfe Race: Fire Apparition Power: Base ki: 16,000,000, has Super Kaioken. Hair Color: black Eyes: grey Height: 5'4" Sex: male Body: Toned. Clothing: Black pants, black shirt, black cape(inside is red). Likes: No one. Racial barriers: Although Malfe doesn?t have an real racial barriers, he dislikes everyone and anyone equally. Gaining access to his training takes quite a bit of convinsing.. Background information: Though he doesn?t believe it to be a blessing, Malfe was granted power over fire by the great lord, Rayden. After assisting the lord himself, the fire apparition set a new course for home, Mercy-sei. Here he found a peace that the untrained eye wouldn?t have noticed. That peace was disturbed at once when Rayden charged him with the task of training those that inquire about the technique. Hesitant at first, the Pyrotactician finally agreed under the agreement that he could choose his apprentices himself and not have to accept just anyone. The agreement was sealed and the training began. No matter the race, he would accept anyone, so long as they could prove to him the reason as to why they could train under him. Needless to say, Malfe has very short patience. Requirements to train under the Malfe:
(Note: At first, Malfe will single your race out, and he?ll use their weaknesses against you. You must find a way to overcome your race?s weakness in order to train under him.) About the technique: Pyrokensis:
As more Kinesis? come out, we can add more trainers similar to these, only with different likings, and race barriers and of course appearances. BTW...I'd really like to see what the rest of you guys have thus far, just to see our progress, you know, as a team. I know that this is a lot of individual work, but we could always help each other out, IE: What else do you think should go into my elementals or whitelighter styles? Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Metal Koola - 06-28-2006 I'm loving the ideas 13, I'm working on one right now based on your style. -If anyone's on and wants to IM me that'd be super. Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Banned Dana - 06-29-2006 ok, we know that MK is doing one, how about you two, Blue and Goten? I'm pretty sure Blue is, but I'm completely at a loss with Goten... Pre-Liminary Round 1: Raditzu's Group - Whompt - 06-29-2006 It'll be up when I get to work. I had most of it ready to post, then I hit escape.... and it went away. I cried, looked at the time, and decided that I didn't have enuff before work. -_-; |
