Recommended PC Games - Super Buu - 10-23-2006 Until now, I've pretty much just had to hold back the tears when a cool PC game comes out, since my Laptop can't run shit. But I'm getting a new desktop provided by my university this week or the next, and it's pretty powerful. 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor, a gig of ram, and a 245mb graphics card, if the specifics are important. ![]() So what I want to know is, what good PC games should I get? I already have Oblivion and Black & White 2 ready to be installed. F.E.A.R is another thing I'm considering. But I need to know more! Bear in mind that I can't play online games on my college connection. =( Recommended PC Games - OldYamcha - 10-24-2006 Uhm...Gothic 3...and NFS Carbon? >_> If you like killing dudes with nothing to do, try getting Serious Sam 2.. Recommended PC Games - Raditzu - 10-24-2006 F.E.A.R. is a good one. Company of Heroes Prince of Persia (any of the Sands of Time series) Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Heroes of Might and Magic 4 (or whichever is the newest) Tomb Raider: Legends I can't think of any others at the moment. Recommended PC Games - Amadeus - 10-24-2006 Don`t play F.E.A.R. The singleplayer is way too easy if you use slow motion and way too hard if you don`t. I can`t really speak for the multiplayer but I haven`t heared that it is anything special. Good games are: Half-Life 2 Gothic II Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War World of Warcraft Call of Duty 2 Psychonauts They aren`t exactly the latest, but they are some of the greatest on the market. I tried mixing a little bit of everything but basicly those games I can personally vouch for. Recommended PC Games - Raditzu - 10-24-2006 Without a net connection, he can't play WoW or HL2, Jackie. Personally, I thought FEAR was a lot of fun. Can you play games with other people on the school network? If so, I'd recommend getting Unreal Tournament and Warcraft 3 as well. Recommended PC Games - Android-18 - 10-24-2006 Septerra Core. Recommended PC Games - Super Buu - 10-24-2006 I have WoW, HL2 and WC3 (which happens to be my favourite PC game of all time). But yeah, unplayable. =( And no, I don't think I can play against other people on the college connection, though admittedly I haven't tried. Once my new PC arrives I'm going to try playing HL2 offline, 'cause I'm sure there was some kind of option for it. Does BF2142 have a single-player story? I've been really tempted to get it. Recommended PC Games - Krillin - 10-24-2006 Colonization, the original Doom, and Wolfenstein 3D. Recommended PC Games - Belle Hibiki - 10-24-2006 BF2142 does have a single player "campaign", but if you're going to do that you might as well just get Company of Heroes, which I hear is much better in that department. KotoR for the win. Also, Oblivion. Recommended PC Games - Krillin - 10-24-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Kid Buu I can't vouch for KOTOR on the PC, but if it's anything like the Xbox version, it's worth getting. I've got KOTOR 2 right now, and I've gotta say, it's hella buggy. I've got a great laptop (don't have the specs memorized, but I know they're well over the requirements). There are times when the game will run great with the graphic requirements turned way up, and there are times when it will run super slow with everything turned way down. It's crazy. That said, I'm such a huge Star Wars/KOTOR fanatic that I play through it anyway. Recommended PC Games - Super Buu - 10-24-2006 Got Oblivion (as I said in the first post =P) and KOTOR. KOTOR bores me so badly, though. I guess it's just one of those times where you don't like a game. Recommended PC Games - Krillin - 10-24-2006 Well, it kinda depends. Like, if you don't like the subject matter, you might not enjoy it. I played Jade Empire, and HATED IT. But if they made a Star Wars or Lord of the Rings game with that same engine, I'd probably love it. Recommended PC Games - OldYamcha - 10-24-2006 Oh, and how could I forget, Portal the game once it gets released. Shouldn't be too long hopefully. Also, if you get Gothic 2, get Night of the Raven with it, and play Gothic 2 normal, then Night of the Raven after. It changes it completely and it's plain awesome. I only played half-way 'cause my computer keeps recognizing the updater as spyware and I'm not allowed to let it update... Recommended PC Games - Dehan - 10-24-2006 KOTOR is very buggy but fun at times, I dont play it much on my PC. I'm considering buying a xbox just so I can play that without the bugs and stuff. A good game for Xbox or PC is Fable, that game owns all. Can't wait for part two to come out, I know for sure I'm going to get a xbox360 just so I can play that game. Another good game to play on your PC is Halo, I don't own it but my cousin has it, and it's pretty fun. Recommended PC Games - Broli - 10-24-2006 Read Radiztu's list again. Then, read it again. And again. Read it until you're convinced to buy the games he mentioned. Recommended PC Games - Raz - 10-25-2006 Black & White 1 and 2. Hate the KoToR series though, bad memories. :[ Recommended PC Games - Tobias - 10-25-2006 I am going to fukin stab you Goten. Keep your sick perverted opinion to yourself. Recommended PC Games - Raz - 10-25-2006 Pssh, my sick perverted opinions give you a better rise then Viagra. You can't deny that. Recommended PC Games - Reijin - 10-25-2006 Wow, someone mentioned a Heroes of Might and Magic game. Hardcore. I've loved everyone of them in the series, and the newest (V) had better not be an exception. Technically, the series was supposed to be dead since the company went out of business, so hopefully we'll see another game in the regular Might and Magic series as well, and hopefully not in the style of MM9, which played more like Oblivion then a true MM game. I also like the mention of Septerra Core. I've been wanting to try that. Get "Masters of Orion 2" if you can find it. The third one I hear horror stories about, and the first one was fairly good for its time in turn based strategy, but two is just the absolute pinnacle of creation and I love it. I want another copy since I lost access to mine (lending to friends ftw). Recommended PC Games - The Not Cool Not Tapion - 10-25-2006 Oblivion Company of Heroes Age of Empires 3 F.E.A.R.
