DBZ Comparison - Banned Dana - 12-11-2006 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PZvizDp-gw I find this clip rather interesting. I believe it's in this order. Japanese American(FUNimation) UK(Ocean) DBZ Comparison - Captain Silver - 12-12-2006 Weird how they changed it. I love the UK's voices though, apart from Vegeta's, he's is lame. <.> DBZ Comparison - Belle Hibiki - 12-12-2006 UK: Vegeta's Voice - Terrible. What is he, Commander fing Cobra? Sssssss. Sssssssssssss. Look at me, I have a snakey voice, so I MUST be evil! SSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssss. Goku's Voice - ... I dunno. Something about it just doesn't fit. I thought the American voice actor correctly captured Goku's happy-go-luckyness. There was the faint hint of a chuckle underneath his words in the US version, whereas the UK guy just sort of flatpanned it. It's the difference between a "Heh!" and a "Hmph." Bulma's - I had a hard time distinguishing it from Funimation's at first; I thought it was the same actress just doing a lower tone. But actually, she sounds really... er... coquettish, for Bulma, who's like god-knows-how-old by this point in the series and just saw her guy kill an entire stadium full of people. She doesn't sound very distressed at all in the UK version >_> In all, I would really love to have Japanese voices/English subtitles with the English music. The Japanese music is lame to me, but I do like the original voices. The English voices come a close second. The UK dub can rot in the firey pits of Hell. DBZ Comparison - Captain Silver - 12-12-2006 I grew up with them, being from the UK and all. <.< DBZ Comparison - Kirano - 12-12-2006 Yeah, watching both the English and American dub, I noticed a big diffrence. Not just with the music and dialogue, but actions. Also, the English version censored blood gushing from character's mouths. The jappanese version I havn't seen, but from the clip I already see the dialogue, music and scenes differ from the other versions. I wanna see the jappanese dubs. I'm intrigued now, looks interesting. Anyone know a website that shows them? DBZ Comparison - Mowgli - 12-12-2006 In UK Vegeta's sreams echoed...why? lol Isn't that his original voice? When he first came to Earth? I haven't seen that in a while but I think it is. And Goku's voice sounds like it belonged to Ryu or something lol. Oh yeah I loved the Japanese fight music lol DBZ Comparison - Kirano - 12-12-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Yamcha Same here. I still prefere the UK's themes though. I can get the american themes on the net, but I can't seem to find the UK dubbed themes. DBZ Comparison - Kirano - 12-12-2006 Bwahahahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN4QEHNPwfU&mode=related&search= DBZ Comparison - Warako - 12-12-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Bulma OMG! DBZ Comparison - Drake - 12-13-2006 Lies, it's all lies! DBZ Comparison - Reijin - 12-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Kid Buu I agree. I did like the way Vejita's voice echoed though in the English version. I also think that the UK version is the same actor that did the original Vejita voice for Funi, but I never really liked that voice as much, unlike the rest of the DBZ crowd. I always prefered the deeper voice that he has during the Buu saga on there, it just seems more Vejita to me. DBZ Comparison - Mowgli - 12-13-2006 Oh I hated the original voice too lol I just wasn't sure if my memory was good or not. DBZ Comparison - Amadeus - 12-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Kid Buu Well you have to understand that DBZ was originally made in the 80s (and in a completely diffrent county) so you can expect quite a diffrence in music styles. EDIT2: French voice acting is also terrible. I got to see it when our television station brodcasted one or two French episodes instead of the original Japanese. Lame... |
