Need help with an ending - Android-18 - 12-17-2004 Could anyone give me ideas for a way to end this? The day was moist with morning dew; it drifted in the summer air and caused a light mist to rise. The sun beamed down, hot but beautiful against the forest path. Leaves danced by along the soil, the wind picking them up lightly and then dropping them again. The tree?s boughs swayed and leaves shivered high above, the sky peeked down through patch like places in the forest roof. The smell of flowers and grass was fresh in the air, pine tree scent drifted about through the misty morn. Small birds chattered gaily in the towering trees while small forest animals scurried and rushed through the low brush. The path that ran and twisted through the thick but pleasant forest was trodden with tracks, animal tracks and carriage tracks. The forest seemed big and lush, people traveled back and forth through the nature to get to various places. One exit lead to the Lawful and beautiful city that was Kaina, the whole land near this mystic town was blessed and holy. It even felt good just to stand on the soft green grass and feel the white Magick flow through a persons veins. The whole place seemed alive, the magic was bountiful and energized anyone who was of white magic, and dark chaotic people on the other hand, would have a hard time even looking upon its splendor. The white power was like poison to their flesh, and thus it was where most people would run to hide, to be free. The sound of a bubbling river chorused through the mellow forest. A shallow stream twisted a path through the forest, like the path. It gurgled and bubbled along, it?s destination obviously toward a lake of some sort. The water rippled from the exiting water, flooding the lake of crystal shimmering water. At the other side of the shimmering lake was another branching stream that carried off cold running water. Inside the lake swam fish of many sizes; it was obviously deep because the bottom could not be visible. Lilly pads floated carelessly along the mirror like surface, the current moving them along. One side cluttered up with the pads, while cattails stuck up around the rim of the pool. The sun was still beginning to rise up over the rigged horizon, past the peaceful thicket. The light mist began to thin, and turn the day into a dry warm ecozone. In the center of the cold lake was a small grassy isle, the blades of grass twitched in a cool breeze that swished over the water. In the center of the isle laid a figure clad in black, their eyes glazed and staring up into the endless sky. Thoughts scrambled through their mind. Words of all kinds slid through the figures subconscious. Their long silver hair lay out like a blanket of fine thread. The figures chest moved up and down in a steady rhythm, breathing the sweet forest air. Wearing only a tank top of black material fitting tightly to their firm chest, and a black skirt. The figure never blinked, her fragile face as white as snow, beautiful and still like she were a frosted flower in a meadow. Deep blue eyes, grayish blue and glassy. She stared at the sky like she had not a care in the world, the sunlight streaming down on her, having risen from the ashes that were night. Her lips curled up into a smile and a soft sound emitted from her throat, a faint purr that revealed her content joy. She blinked suddenly and her eyes seemed to change back to their living warmth, she heard a voice echo in her mind and speak of different things. The voice said that she should go to Llyn Barfog, she had to help fight and she would get something in return. This intrigued the girl, very much so that she sat up. She looked around at where she was, forgetting for a moment. The air smelt almost fresher, and the day was beginning to slide close to noon. The sun had climbed up into the blue sky and warmed up the half-breeds fair skin. She had laid all her things out in front of her and now looked at them. ?Memories are like that of a freight train. Speeding past the towering mountains and frosted forests; speeding faster and faster past the world until finally crashing into a wall of stone at the end of a deep dark forgetful tunnel.? She said and picked up her dagger. She held on tightly to the hilt, ?Loch Shii, a Dancer and a traitor. Everyone despises you and casts you out into the darkness and the gripping fingers of death. You scream and wake from nightmares like a child, sweating and shaking like they were real, and you still can?t piece yourself back together.? She sheathed her dagger onto her belt and picked up her flute, ?And then we meet such pleasant people and bring them into the curse that is our life, and condemn them to tie their wills onto the boat that?s forever sailing into the horizon.? She put the flute in a pocket that had been stitched on her skirt, which she had thrown on before hiking out. It was hot and she was sure no one would find her out in the peaceful land of Kaina. The Halfling felt her eyes burn, the memories of her past life haunting her, she picked up her rings and began to slide them onto her slender soft fingers, ?The pain of being so back stabbed that you want to crawl into the cold depth of a frozen forest, freeze to death if possible. The world is pointless when you have nothing left. I have myself, and I have my things, but what good is living when you have no one to talk to, to care about, to make you feel loved and accepted.? She stopped moving for a moment. Her face shadowed by her long bangs. A tear rolled down her soft cheek, slowly making its way down and dripping off her chin and onto her hand. She reached for two pouches, one was heavy and clinked. It was filled with Gold Pieces, although not a whole lot, she tied the pouch to her belt, ?And why does it seem like everything revolves around money, sex and all that other stuff? Sometimes I curse what I do but it?s the only thing I know, it?s powerful if you have a friend to help, because it distracts the opponent. But I have no friends, I wish I did.? She still held the other pouch, it was light and there was no way to tell what was inside. Loch smirked, ?And then they make you?? she said to the bag, ?A demon in a new form.? She tied it to the other side of her belt and stood up off the ground. Her chest puffed up as she took in a deep long breath of fresh forest air. She closed her eyes and leaned back, her arms out by her sides and her face towards the sky. Her back was arched as she stood there, as if waiting for rain to pour down onto her slender figure. She opened her beautiful eyes, a smile on her sweet young face. She straightened up, her long silver hair dangling down and moving slightly with the ongoing wind, ?I?ll go, and I?ll see what my future will be, I will return here when it?s over, and continue what I started.? She said and grabbed her cloak off the ground; she pulled it on and fastened it. The Halfling walked back a few paces, her bare feet feeling the soft grass. She stopped at the edge of the isle and started to dash toward the other end. She pushed off and leapt surprisingly high into the air, she landed gracefully on the edge of the bank in a crouch. She stood up and smiled, ?To another day, and another night, when my perils will become more in tune and bring forth the horror that is and that was my past, for I am much more than what I am today. Perhaps I will unlock what I am; deep inside I feel it within me, the secrets I hold and the secrets I?ve been kept from.? She brushed away a few strands of hair from her face, ?Fair thee well sacred land, and onward I go toward a new path, to help this mysterious one.? Loch turned toward a fork, one path was dark near the end and the other was bright and cheerful, ?How ironic?? she said and began to walk toward the dark and gloomy passage. Loch traveled the whole day, her footsteps trailing through the forest path and onto grassy land. She traveled toward the destination she had heard, she knew that inside this area was a town called Llyn Barfog, there was many dangerous things. There were demons and evil humans; she wondered who else would dare take this challenge, to travel all the way to dangerous lands and to stop the ruler, or whatever it was this strange being wanted. She knew she would see some old faces, and she didn?t want to. She would try to stay away from those people. Loch moved through the land on quick feet, she knew to keep her mind busy until night, when she would sleep and then wake to continue on toward the intention, she had to get there in three days, if she didn?t she didn?t know what would happen. She would make it though, she had to do this. As she traveled, she sang to herself softly. The day moved by slow, but she kept herself sane. She slept little, she had formed insomnia in the past few days, and she figured it was the demon that had taken her in, the demon that she had been warned about. She remembered the old man at the store telling her to be careful, and so she was careful. The contents of the pouch barely changed in amount, she made her willpower take control, and if she did result to losing that willpower, she would dump the wicked weed into the river and destroy it. She would stay away from shops and make herself get over the foul drug. She sighed and continued to sing, her feet moved forward until the rays of day dipped behind a cloudy night. The clouds were big and omniscient; they loomed down upon her walking figure like shadows waiting to devour her soul. She walked until she heard the rumble of thunder in the distance. A flash of lightening indicated a storm was forming above her head, so she moved off the path and into the shelter of a lone cave. She had exited the forest long ago, and scaled the grassy plains; she was now stationed by a long valley of cliffs and rocks, she had retreated into a drafty cave. It was dark and she had to crawl in to the depth of it to make sure the rain that would soon fall didn?t get her. The cave wasn?t too big, she could still see out of the mouth of it to see the night. Rain fell from the sky and showered down onto the ground. The air immediately smelt of fresh rain, the water hitting the ground repeatedly actually soothed the girl. She listened to it falling down for a long time, the rumbling of thunder adding to the music of nature. She closed her eyes, her knees drawn up and her arms wrapping around them. She hugged her knees and rested against the wall of the cave, the darkness blanketing her and actually making her feel warm. She smiled and curled up more, the rain lulling her to sleep, she knew the sleep wouldn?t last long, she was restless, and insomnia gripped her like a plague. But even so, she still welcomed the short sleep with open arms. She slept soundly for a few hours, the rain thinned into a light drizzle and the storm passed. Loch soon woke with sleep in her eyes, her body stretched out against the cavern floor, her mouth opening as a yawn escaped her luscious lips. She rubbed her eyes with her hands, looking out the cave to see the light rain falling. It would stop soon, and the sun would rise as well. As soon as it did she would set out again, she had two days left to get where she was going. She figured she would get there that day, she knew she was close. As she waited for day to come, she thought about where she was going. She had heard it was hard to get into the keep, and she hoped that it didn?t take long to get inside. A few hours dwindled by, the light of day tinkled into the dark moist cave. Loch crawled out of the dusty hole and stepped onto the wet muddy ground outside. The air smelt fresh and lovely, a new day was born and she would pursue it. Need help with an ending - Android-18 - 12-17-2004 T'was too long: The half-breed girl moved through the valley of rocks and grass. She climbed over low mounds of dirt and rocks, getting scratched and dirty, but never stopping. She continued on, with no food or water. She would get something when she got to where she was going, until then she would put up with the hunger and the dry feeling in her mouth. She walked through the wet terrain; the rain had washed through most of the land. It was muddy and slippery, she fell a few times causing her clothing and legs to get covered in mud. She pushed herself the whole way; the journey was tiring and took a lot out of her. Loch moved through more dangerous areas, such as The Innothar Swamp. She had to travel though the dangerous bog, in order to get to the ?No Man?s? land. She entered it and rested for a moment. The sun hid behind grey clouds for most of the day, and the trees that surrounded the swamp hid most of the light. She moved through the damp dangerous place, watching for anything dangerous. She stepped on something, and suddenly jumped as it moved. A crocodile immerged from the swamp like water and snapped at her, she moved just in time and leapt over the creature. She decided to get out of there fast. She dodged and leapt over pools of swamp water and swamp monsters, her feet trotting fast until she was stumbling onto clean soft grass. Loch sighed and looked back, everything was beginning to set. The clouds drifted away and gave way to an orange blue like sky, evening come on fast, by the time the sun was setting, and Loch was collapsing onto the ground by a large tree. She had traveled through the valley and swamp and finally looked through some brush to see a few houses. She sighed, knowing this was not Llyn Barfog, but perhaps it was Llyn Barnog? She stood up, with the help of the tree she had fallen by. She looked further through the brush to see more houses, she was still a while away, but could make out the small town. Just a while away was another town, and far to the north was a larger area that seemed dark and evil. She pressed through the bushes and looked down the short hill, to the east there seemed a misty forest, she must have come in the easy way. As she traveled further down she saw a sign saying the misty forest had been the other part of the Innothar Swamp. She was beginning to enter the barren land that was Innothar, it was dark and seemed so dead. Loch was tired but she kept moving. If she made it past Llyn Barnog and made it to Llyn Bargorn, maybe she could find an Inn and sleep there, and then head into Llyn Barfog. She passed the small town, it was quiet with sleep. She heard that this town was the safest, and it held great herbs. She moved past the town, not wanting to arouse anything, or anyone. She soon made her way on the path to the next town; she made little noise while making it through the night. Her feet soon touched the cold moist cobble stone. She looked into the dark street that lead into the cold evil town, Llyn Bargorn was more dangerous than any other town she had ever been to, and she was planning on finding a place to lodge. She walked into the shadows and darkness, her eyes looking for any source of light. Loch sighed; there was no sign of light anywhere. It was as if the dark gloomy town was deserted. She walked down the road and into an ally, the sound of dripping water echoed through the long lane. The Halfling climb onto a bunch of barrels and leapt onto the roof of a house, it seemed safe enough for the night. It was clean, just a bit damp. Loch curled up on the dark roof and covered up with her cloak. She sighed and tried to put herself to sleep. The wind blew cold against her, and she did sleep, but it was a cold restless one. She shivered and dreamt dark dreams, obviously because of the environment. She slept for a few hours and awoke shaking and looking around herself. The sky was still dark, she wondered if it ever turned day around this place. It was so depressing, and she could feel the darkness clinging to her. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and woke herself up; she decided to just keep going. The feline girl leapt off the roof and landed silently on the ground, it was cold still. She started to make her way through the town, toward the center of Innothar, Llyn Barfog. She would make it there soon, she felt full of new energy, and she traveled quickly through the land between the town and the destination. She heard howls and cries, like people being tortured in the shadows. Her eyes looked from one way to the other. She hadn?t met one person, not a thing. Perhaps once she got to the town she would find someone. The area grew lightly foggy, but she could still see well. She walked further, until stumbling over something. The Halfling looked down to see the bloody face of a man; she jumped back and stumbled over another one. She fell down and looked at the bodies? with wide eyes. Obviously she didn?t get there first. Loch picked herself up and walked into the town gates. Loch walked into the town, it seemed cold and quit. She could feel the presence of others, she was sure that when day broke things would liven up, but at night time the bad guys came out to play. She drew her dagger and continued to walk, she had to wait a while until the day began, and then she would wait for the others and what would come next. She walked further until she saw what looked to be a town square. She stopped when suddenly a black figure jumped in front of her. ?What do we have here, a pretty little diamond?? the creaky voice sounded, its head twisted to one side and its body was scrawny like an edgy shadow. It had red creepy eyes that seemed to sparkle at her; it advanced on her, long stick like legs moving forward, while long thin arms held forward like it wanted to grab at Loch. The girl stepped back and held up her dagger. ?Pretty girls should play with dolls, and little boys should play with dogs, what is a child like you doing with such a dangerous thing? Methinks you ought to hand it over little one.? Loch hissed and growled whatever this thing was; it was dealing with the wrong person. But then, it cackled softly, there seemed to be more of them. Loch looked around, there were at least five. The first one continued, ?Come now girlie, pretty thing, don?t be afraid.? He cackled and Loch felt cold hands grabbing at her, the scratchy fingers pinched and poked at her flesh, they grabbed and felt her clothing. Loch swiped and slashed at them, but they were too fast. She growled and looked every which way, their giggles and chuckles making her angry. She jumped at one but it moved out of the way, another one jumped on her back and she cried out. She shook it off and backed up into a wall. The 5 demons advanced on her, they voices chattered and chanted. She ignored them and started to focus, she had to attack them with smarts. She leapt at one and it moved out of the way, and then she leapt at another. She watched their movements and began to move in her own way. She moved with smooth movements, like she was dancing at the same time. When one demon jumped, she jumped the other way and caught one of guard. Her dagger tore deep into its back and it cried out. Black liquid gushed down Loch?s arm and it burned her flesh. She cried out and let go of her dagger. It fell to the floor and the sound echoed throughout the area. The shadowy figure fell with a groan and twitched, until finally growing still. The other figures hushed and seemed to group. Loch held her hand and arm out. She looked down at it, it shook from pain, and the pain was like nothing she had ever felt. The pain made her want to rip her arm off, but she tried her best to ignore it. She wrapped it up with a part of her cloak and picked up her dagger. The other demons seemed to be scared, they screeched when Loch turned to face them, and they fled away. Loch breathed heavily and sat down on the edge of the square fountain. Water bubbled softly and Loch calmed herself down. She sheathed her dagger and unwrapped the cloak from around her arm, it was sticky from the blood from the demon, and she dipped her arm into the water and felt the cool liquid come over the burning sensation. It didn?t heal it, but it helped. She sighed and wrapped up her shaking arm again. The blood had left patch like stains against her arm, and she wondered if they would go away. She looked around her, the place was quite, save for the sound of the fountain. Loch moved from the edge of the fountain to the ground where it was placed. She sat against it with her knees up; she rested her wrapped arm on her knees and rested her head against her arm. She wasn?t tired, but she still had to wait. She still didn?t know what she was to wait for; perhaps she was waiting for day. She hummed softly to herself in the silence, she hoped she didn?t have to wait long, she hoped nothing attacked her again. Next time she wouldn?t get a demon?s blood on her arm, it had really hurt. She rubbed her arm and continued waiting, waiting for what she hoped was worth looking forward to. |
