DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Toshiro - 03-27-2007

Knew of it day before yesterday. Part of me died.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Super Buu - 03-27-2007

I had to check the date, that it wasn't April yet.

They finally did it! They better let you make your own trademark moves (wouldn't be difficult, just pick an attack and change the colours and have your character call out its name when it's attacked XD). Apparenly you can have your character start as a child and then age as you play, which is awesome.

Jesus, though ... there's gonna be saiyan overload.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Aero - 03-27-2007

I wouldn't be surprised if it was merely a April Fools Day joke, or a fluke all together.

If this is the real deal though, it's gonna pwn. End of.

saiyan overload.

They may as well call it Super Saiyan's RPG.

Not bad but what are they going to do to keep all their fans interested that long. Me for one will never lose interest.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Toshiro - 03-27-2007

It's real, their's an offical site, but I lost track of it due to the massive ammount of lame that my system is.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - OldZorn - 03-27-2007

I'll buy it and play it.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Kirano - 03-27-2007

It will definately smash the record for 'most copies of game sold'.

10 bucks says the creators of this have read through chubbs at some point. Sound rediculous? Think about it, DBZ messageboards have been going for over ten years (I've only been doing it for ten, but I know it was around before I started). And in that time, thousands of people have played. Therefore, if I were making a game like this, i would definately look at the successful text based DBZ RPGs to see what it is that is still inteesting people in this type of game. And, what's the most successful online DBZ RPG today? Well technically it's probably MFG's messageboard RPG, but Chubbs is right up there and probably takes the cake for it's longevity. That being said, it'll be interesting to see how similar the mmorpg is to comparitive text based RPGs. I know one thing, if I were staff here I'd keep a close eye on the storylines for the quests. We wouldn't want anyone to infringe on copyright issues now would we Wink. I doubt it will be a problem, though, if Akira really is overseeing the project as that site suggests. Though it seems odd to me that he'd take the time to make an mmorpg with a post-dbz storyline but not continue the actual series.

They should totally come ask us what's what. We'll show 'em how DBZ should be.

DBZ MMORPG in 2008 - Bojack - 03-27-2007

In all seriousness, projects like this don't stretch far enough to the fans. The best they'll do is get a focus group of pubescent teens together to play the beta and ask them whether or not it's fun. That's lame.

They really should come to us.

UNRELATED: Whatever happened to that thing where some group of writers or something was going to visit our site? I remember something like that... I also remember it not happening.
