I'm thinking about going opening night too. Venom has been my favorite villain throughout the comics, even though I'm just getting into them, and I can't wait to see him. Personally, though, I'd also like to see the Lizard (Dr. Connors?) and Kraven. Is Mysterio in this one? I know that Venom and the Sandman are.

Man, I hope they make a few more of these movies. They're by far more awesome than any of the other Marvel films.

The only problem I have with this movie is that Venom looks skinny >.<

He's always been depicted like, huge-ish.

Well, he was only in one clip clearly, and the symbiote was still crawling onto him. You never know. Anyhow, I want to see the Iron Man movie and the Cap movie. I hear they're making a movie called "The Incredible Hulk" too. Don't know if it has anything to do with the other movie (which was okay...)

EDIT: @Bardock: I could see that. He's perfect appearance-wise.

Yeah, I agree. I hate the Hulk as a character anyway.

The Hulk, I think, has been taken to a whole new level. I just read the last two comics of "Planet Hulk", and the Hulk's character has been civilized and developed. He seems sort of human, for a while, but then he goes back into angry mode. Can't wait for World War Hulk.

My sister won some sort of drawing for 3 tickets to the pre-showing. She brought two of her friends, rather than her own flesh and blood >=[. Karma bit them in the ass though - they said they were too afraid to actually watch the movie - then again, 8 year olds scare easily....lol.
1 of her friends said it was amazing. But she was probably just as scared as the other two, trying to act tough.......

Venom is supposed to be buff. His name is Eddie Brock for Christ's sake. I was pissed to see that they didn't go crazy with the cgi and make him incredibly huge (which is what I was expecting... the only reason I didn't find Topher Grace and murder him so he couldn't do this movie). Not only that, but I would bet money that Venom will only be in this movie for 10 or 20 minutes at the tail end. It seems like they are playing off the symbiote from the 'turns Peter into an ass' angle for most of the movie.

Vemon is only huge because Eddy Brock is huge. When Parker wore the symbiote, he was just as scrawny as he is in his normal costume. And the symbiote did turn him into an asshole. What the previews have shown have been pretty true to the way the whole Peter/symbiote situation played out. Aside from how Peter got the symbiote, of course.

Yes, and Eddie Brock is supposed to be huge. The whole appeal of Venom was how physically imposing he was... he is, visually, Spiderman cranked to eleven.

It's a matter of the art. The original Eddie Brock was a prolific athlete and weight lifter, and drawings of him were intentionally huge and overbearing, to invoke a sense of fear and helplessness. It looks like Topher will be more cerebral and psychotic, which would have been fine if we were talking Carnage. But we aren't.

And like I said, Venom will have a 20 minute appearance TOPS, at the tail end. I guarantee it. Between Spiderman and the symbiote, Sandman, and Harry Osbourne, the most we will see of Eddie will be him festering his rage towards Peter, the climax being a fight with Venom.

Edit: For a fanboy, you sure don't know much about the movie. They've already confirmed that venom only makes an appearance for about the last 15 mins. The entire story has already been posted actually.
