My guitar skills ftl.
Do any of the good guitar players here have any tips on picking more accurately? I've always picked by holding the pick with my index, middle and thumb until recently, now I pick normally with just the index and thumb but I strum holding the pick with all three. I've noticed a pretty big difference positively since the switch in my picking accuracy but it's still not that great, and I'm hankerin for some tips.

It takes tinkering to figure out what's best for you. Just use whatever ways feels natural and is the easiest for you. Everyone does it different (Eddie Van Halen holds the pick between his index and middle fingers)... I hold it between my index and thumb, which is the standard way.
Learn to do the main riff to Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. That's the best exercise of technique there is. Which sounds like what you need.

I've just started doing this and it's helped severely.
Start on the first fret with your index finger on the E chord then (on the same chord) hit the second fret with your middle, third fret with your ringfinger, and fourth with your pinky. Jump to the next string and do the exact same thing till you get to the end, then slide down the same last string and begin again only working your way back towards the E chord.
This has been a good picking exercise for me, helps for faster and more accurate playing but only if you do it every single day. If you wish you can also use various forms of picking along with this to get you familiar with the flow of using those.

That is an excellent way to develop finger/pick skills, perhaps the best way. As you do it, you'll get faster and more accurate. Once you feel confident with that, you can also do your scales in the same fashion.
Incidentally, I play with the pick between index and thumb.

Yeah, Goten's way is good. But when you start economy picking, it's best to only do 3 frets per string. When you get the hang of that then you can do even number runs.
I do that, scales, riff to Immigrant Song, the 'spider' (here), and some 'finger gym' (here). I don't have a set routine or anything, I just fuck around in between other stuff. People say that's bad, but I'm happy with my rate of development so they can stuf.

EDIT: And no, those are not Rickrolls. This guy Justin Sandercoe does lessons there and he has some cool exercises and stuff.

I haven't read anybody's post besides the thread starter but...
Hold the pick the standard way. No matter how comfortable/uncomfortable it is, you need to learn to deal with it. I used to hold my pick with 4 fingers. Then 3. Now 2. 2 Fingers is just more effective. I can't really explain why. It just is.
Now as far as accuracy goes...
Learn some Ozzy. Particularly Crazy Train, and if you're feeling dangerous, Bark at the Moon.
