I really need to read a good book. I haven't read anything in almost a year and that just won't do.

Wicked, Son of a Witch, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, and LOST are all really good books by Gregory Maguire, if you want some recommendations.

xD
This was totally one of those adopt a dead thread things. I made a new one, but in retrospect, reviving a two year old thread would have been epic.
I've been playing a lot of Halo recently. Put me in a sci fi mood.

I misread the title of this thread and got excited. =(
Anyway, read the Dune series. That's always fun.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. It's some of his best work.

I have tried three times to read Wizard and Glass. It's really just not going to happen at this point. =(
I am a fan of satire (Chuck Palahniuk and Kurt Vonnegut ftw) mostly. I am a huge fan of William Gibson, who is just straight prose. But it's good shit. I also like Philip K. Dick, who is a combination of the two. Ideally, I'd like to read something similar to all that, but preferrably not by them because it would still fall under the 'same old' category.
I really only read huge/classic books over the summer sooooo nonna that. If it can be helped.

I always recommend anything by Laurell K. Hamilton. Her Merry Gentry series is pretty damn sweet, and if you like reading hardcore porn, definitely for you.

Anything by Robert Heinlein. He's one of the most recognized Sci-Fi writers ever.

I always pass by The Moon is a Harsh Mistress when I go through the library.

I loved that book. I actually reread it not too long ago.
