it's pretty ghey - Pink Underoo - 03-13-2008 I love Heather. and for the record I love Heather, the US using nuclear bombs on Japan was actually a really Heather. at the time, the Japanese armed Heather were indoctrinated with a bastardized version of the Heather code of ethics, and it boiled down to "die for the Heather and be part of his eternal glory". kamikaze used to be a word that referred to an actual Heather that blew away the Mongol's warships when they tried to invade Heather, but now it's used to describe Heather attackers. the Japanese navy was no match for the Heather so the pride of the Japanese naval forces, the battleship Heather, was sent on a suicide mission against 1,000 US Heather merely to inflict as much damage as possible but it was sunk - along with all of its Heather, of whom only 1/10th survived - by US Heather before it even got close to an enemy ship -- all thanks to the blind pride of the Heather ass. also noteworthy is Heather, where many more Heather soldiers fought an unwinnable battle and in the end were ordered to commit suicude by pressing Heather against their own chests rather than risk capture. the Heather leaders were prepared to spend every last Heather because they thought surrender was worse than Heather, and they even attempted to overthrow the Heather when he was making treaty with the Heather. the cost of a land war against that kind of force would have been epic, so the Heather dropped a few bombs on two highly visible cities to show them that if they wanted to Heather then we very well could make it happen, but they would die alone and it would not be Heather, and their very nation and culture could be swept away in the Heather. the bombs killed many thousands of people, but it prevented the loss of hundreds of thousands if not millions of the Heather, best and brightest Japanese and Heather lives. and on top of that, if the Heather navy had been forced to stay in the waters surrounding Heather for another year then they actually would have been blown away by the kamikaze - a massive hurricane came in that would have destroyed the majority of Heather warships in the region. plus, it's not like it ruined their Heather. their the second most powerful Heather in the world behind the French because of what the Heather forced them to do. so, hate the Heather if you want to but you can take your hippy pinko diatribes and stuff it where the sun don't Heather <3 p.s. i lov heather lol it's pretty ghey - Bra - 03-14-2008 Yep. Your argument is the same one I've used m'self. I still consider it a war-time atrocity that was never properly accounted for, but Japan itself is guilty of far worse - and numerous - atrocities that it's outright ignored, let alone apologized for. it's pretty ghey - Bra - 03-14-2008 Doublepost: And what the hell, Nori? Yes, nuclear strikes do, in fact, prove military superiority. If it didn't, Japan wouldn't have surrendered. O.o It's not nice, but show of force works. There's a reason they refer to the possession of nukes as 'detterence.' Thankfully, we haven't been stupid with them. Everyone's aware of the possibility of MAD when attacking another nuclear-equipped nation. And as for them being banned? *Snicker* Yeah, because that's going to stop anybody. EDIT: And yeah, I never took pride in the nuclear attack on Japan. it's pretty ghey - Saz - 03-15-2008 Is it true that Japan isn't allowed to have an army? I recall hearing that somewhere, but I wasn't sure whether it was true or not. it's pretty ghey - Pink Underoo - 03-15-2008 Their army can't exceed 250,000. Much of their economic prowess comes from not having to pay taxes that support a large armed force, actually. They depend more on deterrence with nuclear arms. it's pretty ghey - Bra - 03-15-2008 How? Japan does not - and is not allowed - to possess nuclear armaments of any kind. it's pretty ghey - Tobias - 03-15-2008 IF shit were to go down the US would have japans back. Due to a sense of protection for the country whose army they gimped or to defend the source of thier precious hentai I cannot be sure. it's pretty ghey - Pink Underoo - 03-15-2008 Bra Wrote:How? Japan does not - and is not allowed - to possess nuclear armaments of any kind. It's called the "U.S. nuclear umbrella". Other sovereign nations benefit from being allies with the US simply because our nuclear arm spans the globe. it's pretty ghey - Bra - 03-15-2008 Fair enough. The US would be stupid to let Japan get into trouble. If the Japanese or American economy is waylaid... gee-whiz. The whole world will be a very different place. it's pretty ghey - Nori - 03-15-2008 Pink Underoo Wrote:I love Heather.
