Day One: Morning - Burter - 06-02-2008

Day One
6:00 AM - Noon

"Rise and shine houseguests, it's 6 AM and the sun is starting to peek out! I'm sorry to report that we only had two encounters for the start of the game and nobody has died yet! But, on the plus side, ratings are at all time high!

I have some announcements. The first announcement is that I will be placing the very first Easter Egg weapon down. At exactly noon today, a sniper rifle will be teleported onto the largest rock on E-8. Until then, E-8 is a danger zone, effective immediately.

Now, for the danger zones set to active at noon:

C-7
E-10
F-2
F-10
G-9
H-2

That's it warriors! Do me proud, and happy killing!"

To join the Easter Egg Special, PM me your intent on joining. It will not count towards your movements, and you will be returned to your original position after the fight...if you survive.

You may NOT enter E-8 at all today, or you'll blow up. It will be accessible again after the fight is over.

Day One: Morning - Retane - 06-02-2008

The mercenary moved swiftly, the night starting to wane. The skies began to give way to the violet horizon and the moon had been slowly withering away into to it's hole as the bullying sun crept ever closer. Retane knew all to well that his best advantage was giving way as light would soon uncover the land and make him a better target for those that desired to see him vanquished. Even still, sunlight or darkness, he was still as feral and as dangerous as ever.

Sliding and ducking into a crouch, the renegade had spotted someone moving casually in his direction. The merc strained his eyes as he ducked his head lower. The figure carried his bag across his back and seemed to slowly look around at his surroundings. Retane smirked with pleasure as he had possibly found a stronger canidate that might be able to fullfill give him answers.

The emerald namekian stood up then, feeling that the terrain surrounding them wouldn't give him the advantage of surprise and decided that a more frontal engagement would fit the situation.

"Tell me, why did you come here? What does The Abyss mean to you? Tell me and perhaps I shall think about letting you live," barked the sturdy namekian.

The stranger, paused and it was then that Retane recognized him. The usual orange and black clad clothing. Ears even bigger then his own. The pasty mohekianed head.

"T-Tapion?"

" Hey Retane! You had me worried there for a moment! Long time no see huh?"

Retane was at a loss for words. It had been a year ago since he had seen the Konat. Just a year ago, he watched him die in his arms with his battered and deformed body. Now, like an angel, he stood before him again, with that same innocence and joy he had had once before.

"Whats wrong Ret, you look like you saw a ghost?"

"You're alive? But you died..." Retane's mind went blanke

Tapion raised a curious eye and laughed as he scratched his head, "Yea , funny thing about that. I was reformed in a lab, you know. Didn't you have the same thing happen to you?"

"I went to Hell." Retane's voice was solemn as he spoke. It was as if everything he had remembered was vaulted shut into his head, leaving his thinking process to give a blank.

"Oh, well, sorry about that. How about we try it again then freind? Make it to the top this time?"

Retane watched as Tapion offered his hand with a smile. Retane yeilded for a few moments, remembering that thoguh their freindship had caused many others death, his own pain and hurt had come from the abrupt ending of the duo, as it had become a solo war path in the end. Could he really do it again? What if they failed again? There were stronger this time were they not? Perhaps Tapion could even help him find his answers?

Retane's flooded mind was soon put to rest as he figured that there was only one way to find out.

He accepted the hand of his comrad, and the Destructive Duo was on a path of chaos again.

Day One: Morning - Reijin - 06-02-2008

Continued from: http://www.cdbzrpg.com/forum/showpost.php?p=459525&postcount=29

The sun was slowly rising as large pillars of stone came into view on the Saiyan's exit from the forest. Reijin slowly leaned into a tree, favoring his wounded arm, as he peered out from the trees of the forest. The pillars surrounded what seemed to be some form of ancient temple, rising high into the sky to worship the gods. The heavy moonlight gave off a perfect reflection from the marble that seemed to cause the building itself to have an aura. The night had grown faintly chilled in this area and he found himself letting out a cool breath before reaching back to pull his cloak around himself.

He used his pitchfork with his good hand as leverage to climb up the tall flight of steps towards the temple. Every step he took warranted a moment's pause to smell the air for signs of another. It only took him another thirty minutes as he climbed up the stairs, cautiously looking over his shoulder for a sniper, till he made it around the pillars surrounding the doorway.

The door was far louder than he would have preferred and he shut it hurriedly to cover his entrance into the temple. Now he would have to be careful not to turn it into his tomb. He walked into the center of the large dome, noting that the room felt quite similar to the Room of Spirit and Time on earth, although of finite space.

I was thinking quite the same.

"It'd be nice if this room had some way to perform an exorcism on you."

Ouch. I think that almost hurt a bit.

"Oh nice, sarcasm. I thought I was the only person here with the intelligence to be witty."

If you consider that wit then I question that claim.

Reijin threw his pitchfork down to the temple floor, not caring about the rather loud clang that echoed from it and simply followed with throwing his bag below it. He looked down at his bandaged arm and noted the blood that had dried within it.

"I'm sorry, what exactly did you infect me for again?" he questioned, stressing the word 'infect' for the benifit of the Saiyan woman residing within him. "Was it to torture me during my tenure of this game or was it to sit back, shut up, and observe? I remember something being said about observing, and so far all of you've done is piss me off."

Because I'm observing your failures, I assume.

"See? That there," he grumbled under his breath this time while changing the bandage around his wounded arm, "is what I'm referring to. Stop trying to piss me off so much and let's get this over with so we can both be on our way."

I see you are finally reattaining control of yourself as you were trained long ago.

"I see you have open access to my memories for being a mind leeching psychic vampire," he retorted while throwing some sticks down in the center of the dome that he'd gathered on his trek. Leaning down, he held his arm out and focused for a moment, imagining a flame...

It works better if you had your pyrokinesis.

"Stop stealing my focus," was all he cared to say. Leaning down, he picked up one stick, then stared at his wounded arm before sighing and dropping the stick once more. It was pointless. Without his flame ability and with a wounded arm, he was not going to be able to light a fire in this place.

Perhaps you could use your telekinesis itself to act as an arm in this instance.

He glared at the stone for a moment before deciding to act on it. The stick stood on its own and then floated next to his good arm as he picked up the other stick, having come up with this decision completely on his own and with no help of the psychotic raving Saiyan bitch within. Focusing as much as possible, he decided to add a twist to the typical method of generating friction for firewood and set the floating stick into an extremely fast spin against the stick that was being held.

The fire blossomed into view quite strongly and he fell back as it did, having not quite expected his telekinetic powers to interact so well with the flame without his own pyrokinesis to back it. Finally, after a moment he leaned back and fell asleep quickly, having not realized how extremely tired he was.

Soon after, Reijin awoke to the sound of the very gay Karl Jak screeching on his intercom. He let all of the words sink in as he hurridly crossed off locations on his map that would be considered danger zones.

Do you plan on going after the sniper rifle?

A small shrug emerged from the Saiyan. He honestly didn't know if he intended to approach it or not, given the sheer number of people that would be after such a strong weapon as well as the fact that he wasn't even sure if he could fire the weapon with one arm out of commission. Then he remembered that he could use his telekinesis as a second arm in such encounters.

I'm glad you've learned something.

Reaching down, Reijin grabbed his bag and cleaned up the mess before him. He didn't really care about hiding signs of having been here as it was not really a possibility, but he also didn't wish to have still smoldering embers giving an exact sign of how long till he'd left either.

Day One: Morning - Warako - 06-02-2008

The sun was beginning to break the horizon as the bright orange rays pierced through the darkness allowing Warako to finally get a full glimpse of his surroundings. Buildings littered the cracked streets as every intersection that the Namekian approached displayed nothing but more city blocks of desertion.

“This place sucks,” whined the Green Skin as he began checking building doors for any unlocked ones. To the Namekians surprise, all were unlocked, even some had been left wide open. It seemed a bit odd, but easily explainable, people could have ran out and not cared for their vacated complex’s. But in this particular case, it made much more sense to the young Alien to be the latter.

With the choice all his, Warako didn’t take too long to decide on a building. After all, the longer he stayed on the mean streets of Dante’s Abyss, the higher chance of the young Warrior having his body separated from his head. With seven days remaining on this competition, the Namekian had already decided on his strategy, one that would either bring him home safely, or send him home hurting…

“Paradise for seven days…” muttered the Emerald Warrior as he entered a multi-floored office complex. “Since when was a hunting game considered a paradise,” questioned the young Man who ducked in and out of multiple cubicles as he searched for the ultimate hiding spot. The Rookie continued to wander until he selected a cubicle near the window for optimal scouting of the street below. After all, it didn’t matter which desk the Namekian choose since every single desk was measured exactly the same.

With his new office desk chosen, the Dante Participant took a seat within the office chair and placed his survivor bag on the desk before him. ‘Wonder what kind of stuff they agve me,’ pondered Warako as he unzipped the bag and began shuffling around the contents with his sharp claws.

“Let’s see…” said Warako as he began to pull out each item separately as he inspected them before placing them on the desk.

“Map, Compass, Bread, Water, Scouter, and Four Rocks?” said a curious Warako as he inspected the four rocks in disgust, “What is this shit?” The Namekian was livid, and he had every right to be. This was turning into the worst vacation ever, and for someone who just saved the Universe, he demanded better service.

“These guys don’t know me at all,” complained once again the young Fighter as he tossed the bread into the next cubicle over. Now with all the contents on the desk, the Dante Contestant began his preparations, grabbing the Scouter; Warako attached it to his face.

“Karl Jak, you’re dead the moment I see you.”

Day One: Morning - Zangya - 06-02-2008

The food was getting gradually more enticing to her, and the Ader-jin had to struggle to keep herself away from Celipa’s duffle bag. The woman was suddenly feeling quite hungry, hungrier than she’d felt in a long, long time. Her stomach had been growling endlessly since the pair had looted the farm, and Zangya couldn’t understand why—and then, it hit her.

The symptoms were showing.

The jade-skinned woman followed the saiyan girl, who had taken the lead since their last bit of bantering. She was now attempting to act like a magician with a stalk of celery. Zangya simply looked on with the highest form of tediousness, not wanting to speak down to the woman—she had seen what had happened when Celipa was angered last year. She didn’t want to risk making the saiyaness turn on her.

“You want to eat, Zangya,” she said, waving the celery wand in front of her companion’s face. She repeated herself several times, but Zangya was already convinced. She snatched the celery from Celipa and took a bite out of it, and then continued to move towards their destination.

The food was good. It melted in her mouth, sliding down her throat soothingly and smoothly—the green girl was absolutely sure why this sudden burning feeling of hunger was happening, and for a second, she contemplated about telling Celipa. But she decided that for the time, it was best that she didn’t know. It hadn’t hindered their game yet, so she wasn’t going to let it out until it did. She hoped that wouldn’t be for a long, long time, because to be honest, she didn’t really trust Celipa with such a big secret.

She rubbed her stomach, which still didn’t feel full but felt slightly better. It stopped its harsh growling, and she felt thankful for that, at least. The beast that was resting in there wanted food, and so the Ader complied, and it had finally stopped its demands.

She didn’t expect that to last long, though.

The Ader suddenly felt a lurching deep in her gut. The food she had just stuffed in her mouth wasn’t reacting right—it was not going to stop its violent swashes throughout her stomach until it escaped that chamber, and so, right in front of Celipa, Zangya collapsed to her knees and spit up the vegetables that had been digested over the last several hours.

“Zangya!” Celipa said, “What’s wrong?” The saiyaness fell to her friend’s side, patting her back gently, attempting to comfort her. “Come on, don’t get sick now, we’re just now getting started!” The Ader couldn’t help it though. She just kept throwing up. The food and the stomach-monster were not getting along well at all.

“Well, I know not to feed you vegetables anymore,” Zangya gasped through the regurgitations. Her sickliness was not about to ruin this competition, but this was something that would plague Celipa for a long time if she didn’t know what this was now. The Ader looked up to her friend, and then looked back down quickly to spit up some more. “Celipa,” she said, “I’ve got something to tell you. Something I should’ve told you a while ago.”

“What?” Celipa asked, interested in her new friend’s predicament.

“It’s not healthy for me to be in this competition,” Zangya told her, smiling. Celipa’s eyes widened, and she looked her friend in the eye.

“Why?”

“Because, Celipa…” Zangya said, throwing up once more. “I—I’m pregnant.”

Day One: Morning - Raditzu - 06-02-2008

This was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Raditzu had been careful, quiet, and fast -- though that went without saying -- and had snuck up on his prey without them having any idea. The years upon years of training flashed through his mind as he studied his target's movements carefully.

Creeping forward, ever so slowly, the saiyan took in a slow, deep breath and steadied himself. Everything would come down to what happened next. The sun was barely over the horizon, providing just enough light to not trip over your own feet. It was this lack of lighting, and the surroundings, that made it possible for Raditzu to stealth towards his target.

The landscape had actually changed quite drastically from where the saiyan had started. Though he wouldn't exactly call this area a forest, the combination of shrubs, trees, and tall grasses made it easy to sneak around. Had he been anywhere other than an island that hosted a bloody, barbaric tournament when contestants slaughtered each other for the amusement of others, he might have commented on how pretty it was.

Taking another second to steady himself, Raditzu made a small hiss, hoping to catch the attention of his prey, which was only a few feet in front of him. When nothing happened, the saiyan hissed again... and again. Despite getting louder each time, the saiyan failed to draw his target's attention. Growing aggravated with the stealth approach, the long-haired warrior drew a deep breath. Sadly, he never got the chance to use it.

"Psst!"

Jumping up, with a startled gah! the saiyan spun around. His wide eyes darted about the relative darkness that he had been hiding in, but revealed nothing. It wasn't till she hopped out from behind a tree that Raditzu loosened up.

"You're a pretty bad stalker, y'know that?" Android Eighteen put a hand on her hip and smiled at the saiyan.

"Oh... well... it's not like I was really trying," the saiyan said after clearing his throat.

"Mhmm... and what were you going to with those?" Eighteen nodded at the playing cards he held between the fore and middle fingers of either hand. "Put on a magic show?"

"I'll have you know that these are... part of an elaborate fighting plan."

Fortunately for Rad, Eighteen didn't dignify that with a response. Instead, she walked past the saiyan and into the small clearing that Raditzu had been watching. As Rad followed her movements, he suddenly found himself wondering what he had been watching, if Eighteen had been behind him.

As if hearing his thoughts, the android placed a hand on the "head" of Rad's prey. Grabbing ahold of its "hair" Eighteen tossed the head to Rad. It had just been her bag resting on a small log. Raditzu handed her back the bag as he stepped beside her.

"Smooth," she grinned in a very Raditzu-like manner.

"Well... it was dark and I... uh..." Raditzu hung his head in defeat. As he did so, he held out his deck of cards. "Pick a card?"

Day One: Morning - Burter - 06-02-2008

Face to Face
Jack Sparrow, Retane, Tapion

As usual, Retane took the lead towards the beaches of the badlands. There was still no shade to be had aside from possible hiding under the hills of sand and rocks. "Check it out," Retane told his partner in crime. Near the ocean was a figure facing the water. "Lucky day."

Tapion nodded, smiling meakly. "Let's go."

It felt good to Retane to be paired up with his partner again. Of course, the two weren't exactly best friends, but they trusted each other and it made all the difference in the world. Nobody else could trust like these two...so there was an advantage that nobody else had.

"I'll rush him," Retane said simply. He was just getting over his weariness after using up all of his power only six hours prior. "You support me from the hill there. Good?"

"Got it."

The namekian let out a grin. Here we was, once again, beating the odds with his partner in crime. He let out his claws as he ran full speed, dropping his bag along the way. The figure heard him coming immediately and spun around, holding what appeared to be a yo-yo. The namekian charged, letting out a scream. "Oh, bugger."

Jack Sparrow, Pirate Lord of Carribean, leaned to each side to dodge the swipes of the claws. Retane jolted one hand forward, causing Jack to spin around and throw a fist, only to be caught by Retane's other hand, and then using the previous one to slice three scars right through Jack's skin.

"Bloody hell!" The pirate shouted, holding his wound as he fell back. Jack looked up, cursing. "That bloody hurt!"

"That's the point!" Retane growled, throwing a fist forward. Jack Sparrow spun around, flinging his yo-yo and wrapping it around Retane's neck. The namekian then spun as well, slicing the string of the yo-yo in half.

Jack backed up a moment. "Well, that's just not fair."

Retane shoved his clawed hand forward again, slicing all three blades into the chest cavity of the pirate. "Tough luck," he growled, this time more fierce. Jack's eyes lit up at the slight pain, and then he fell back, motionless.

"Not bad, eh Tap?" Retane asked, grinning, still facing away.

"Sorry, Retane," Tapion called from up above. Retane immediately turned to see his partner - his best friend - holding up a bottle of liquior with a flaming rag sticking out of the top. A molotov cocktail. "It just wouldn't have worked out this time."

Retane's eyes lit up as Tapion began moving his arm forward to throw. "Tap!" He shouted, "Don't! You! Dare!" As the last word was thrown, the molotov cocktail took flight on a path right towards Retane. The namekian raised up his arms, slashing forward at the bottle as it began to light up in flames. "Solar Blast!"

Instantly, Tapion ducked and covered his eyes. A flash of white burned into his pupils, covering his sight for a moment. After a couple seconds, he could see again, albeit a little blurry. He stood up to see the remains of his charred friend...

On the ground were glass shards, fire surrounding the corpse of Jack Sparrow...and that was it. No duffel bag. No namekian.

There was a quick shadow on the ground, and then a slicing noise. Tapion grunted, feeling a shortness of break and slight sting in his back. He looked down, seeing a protruding bloody claw sticking out of his torso. He could feel the breath of the namekian on his ear, and the whisper rang out clearly. "I trusted you..."

The claw slashed down, through the heart of the Konat. Tapion fell forward, off of the sandy cliff and down into the fiery pit below. He was dead before he hit the ground.

#30 Jack Sparrow DEAD
#17 Tapion DEAD

28 Remain

Retane has mild burns all over his body. Minor injury.

He can take the 2 remaining molotov cocktails. The yo-yo is lost.

Day One: Morning - Aero - 06-02-2008

Aero abandoned his prior location in hopes of finding one with more excitement. He wasn’t in Dante’s Abyss to survive, unlike most of the competitors—he was in it for the thrill. The blood that travelled through his veins was that of a human’s, but he had the demeanor of a Saiyan. He loved fighting. He loved it almost as much as he loved sex, if not slightly more. If fighting was an addiction then he was strung-out on adrenaline.

The turquoise-haired human had journeyed away from the shelter of the office complex (though he probably could have stayed stationed there for the duration of the contest without being disturbed) and into the uncertainty of the island. It left Aero’s body tingling with ecstasy. Danger was his middle name. Aero Danger Cowabunga, he thought as he unconsciously tightened his backpack straps, bringing the bag closer to his back.

His bag. He hadn’t examined its contents since it was assigned to him. What could be in it? Possibly some weapon of awesome proportions? Aero had watched Dante’s Abyss in the past and knew that he could be unfortunate enough to get a gimmick weapon just as easily as a powerful one. The thought of checking his bag did cross his mind, but reckoned it was neither the time nor place to be digging around in a bag—he was walking after all, and anyone could magically pop out of any bush, tree, house, or farm. There was also the watchful crowd. Aero vaguely remembered one of the contestant hopefuls that stood behind him in the registration line conversing about the competition being telecasted all over the universe. Why not keep them guessing?

He chuckled and waved at the sky with a grin spread from ear to ear. “Hi mom! Look!—“ he shoved a thumb under his leash and yanked it as far as he could forward “—I got one of those leashes, just like Raditzu and Broli!”

"Rise and shine houseguests,” a voice boomed across the sky. It was flamboyant, like a woman’s. “It's 6 AM and the sun is starting to peek out! I'm sorry to report that we only had two encounters for the start of the game and nobody has died yet! But, on the plus side, ratings are at all time high!”

It was Karl Jak, the host(ess) of the competition. His voice sounds gayer in reality than on T.V., he thought. Aero had nothing against the homosexual race, as he called it, but when men were completely out about liking other men it did make something in his stomach turn. Especially Jak. He was a little too gay. The human wasn’t an easy one to scare, but the thought of Jak being attracted to men just like him was frightening.

“I have some announcements. The first announcement is that I will be placing the very first Easter Egg weapon down. At exactly noon today, a sniper rifle will be teleported onto the largest rock on E-8. Until then, E-8 is a danger zone, effective immediately. Now, for the danger zones set to active at noon: C-7, E-10, F-2, F-10, G-9, H-2!” He paused. It almost seemed deliberate; created to give the competitors time to realize how fucked—or not fucked—they really were. “That's it warriors! Do me proud, and happy killing!"

“Glad I’m not near any of those,” Aero muttered as he continued forward. There was something in the distance; it barely caught his attention. It was two women; both fine. Then he realized: it was the two women from earlier, in the barracks, Celipa and Zangya. “Hey!” he projected, waving a hand in the air. “It’s me, Aero!”

Day One: Morning - Android 17 - 06-02-2008

A sigh escaped the android’s lips as he tilted back the bottle and downed another lengthy swig. As the last of the bitter liquid poured down the back of his mouth, Seventeen let out a grunt and threw the bottle off the side of the rooftop. With a childish glee, the cybernetic warrior leaned forward and watched the fifth of tequila hit the ground and shatter into a thousand pieces, each twinkling softly in the every increasing sunlight.

Somewhere high above Seventeen’s unkempt head of hair, the womanish voice of Karl Jak echoed forth—spreading the news of the last six hours to the participants. Within the first few seconds of the man’s speech, the machine-hybrid found his attention waning, and a heartbeat later, he completely blocked out the excessively loud voice of the petite, feminine host. Lurching forward, the cyborg stumbled against the concrete wall that served as a barrier for anyone foolish enough to try and walk of a rooftop.

Unfortunately for the android, the lovely brown elixir that he had chugged was burning through his veins, supplying him with an endless arsenal of idiotic ideas and moronic thoughts. Strangely enough, however, the hissing, venomous voice at the back of his mind remained stern and coherent even as Seventeen’s own thoughts blurred and began to run together like a wet painting splashed with a cup of turpentine.

“I need to shank some bitches,” the android gurgled, his breath rancid and his words a heap of incoherent slurs. With a grunt, the machine-hybrid twisted his upper body and began forward, or at least that’s what he was trying to do before his equilibrium crumbled like a superheated I-beam. “Fuckshitcock!” Seventeen groaned before smacking the unyielding graveled floor of the rooftop.

How do you expect to win if you can’t walk? For the first time in a while, the rasping voice in the android’s mind was making some sort of sense. You really are just a silly little man, aren’t you? With that, the disembodied voice began to laugh—a haughty, condescending cackle that stung at the cyborg’s numb brain. Rolling his eyes even as the laughter continued, Seventeen dragged himself from the rock laden rooftop.

Although his jeans and battle armor had absorbed the majority of the impact, the android’s hands had been punctured in a few places by the bevy of small stones. The minor pained was an irritant at best, and despite the noise in his head, Seventeen managed to stumble forward and make his way to the roof access door. Reaching into his pocket as he lurched and swayed, the android fished out another cigarette and light it with a flick of his lighter.

By the time the machine-hybrid collapsed through the front door of the relatively tall building, the sun had climbed high above the skyline and was nearly at a forty-five degree angle. All around the white hot ball of gas and fire, the sky came to life as tendrils of light crept further and further across the world that lie above the android’s head. Despite the burning sensation that he felt staring at it, Seventeen could not deny that the sun was quite majestic.

The machine-hybrid, however, had bigger problems to deal with than stellar observations. As he stared up at the giant star, something in his stomach churned the wrong way—prompting the already depleted reservoir of color in the android’s face to drain away. An open mouth frown spread across Seventeen’s countenance as his knees started to wobble beneath the weight of his lithe frame. From the android’s trembling lip, his cigarette fell in slow motion before hitting the ground and bursting apart into ash and unburnt nicotine. With a final groan, he dropped to his hands and knees—his face taking on a light green hue as he began to retch.

“Bollocks,” Seventeen shouted before open his maw and screaming a volatile mixture of tequila, Mountain Dew, and Twinkies onto the cold pavement.

Nice. I’m sure that all the other competitors will curl up and die from sheer horror of your projectile vomit. The internal voice snickered, sounding just as snide and condescending as always.

“Oh sod off,” the android groaned, wiping his lips clean before another wave or vomit burst up from the hellish abyss that was his stomach. “Arrogant, disembodied nancy boy…”

Day One: Morning - Bojack - 06-02-2008

"Wow," Bojack exclaimed, "it's John Wayne!"

"Heya pilgrim."

"Gee golly goodness John Wayne, what are you doing here?"

"I jus came ta... give you a little advice is all."

"What kind of advice, John Wayne?"

"Well, fer starters... you can get up off yer ass and get movin'. This ain't do damned picnic, and the sooner you realize that the... better off you'll be."

"What?" Bojack asked.

John Wayne turned around, his rock hard ass a perfect apricot in those worn blue jeans. He made a majestic, sweeping motion towards the landscape.

"This here's the planet Dante. Every year... about forty cowboys come to this place to show off their grit to the rest of the universe. You get nothin' but a bag... a weapon or two, and a collar around your neck to remind you every moment that yer not goin' anywhere anytime soon."

"That's good," Bojack said, "I don't really want to go anywhere."

"That right," John asked, "well I got news for ya pilgrim... your luck isn't gonna be any better here. I know about this... "escapin' from Hell business", and I'm here to tell ya... you're gonna spend most of your time here doin' the same damned thing."

Bojack looked at the sky, at the puffy masses bloated with early morning sun.

"If what you say is true, John," Bojack said, "and I am fucked either way, which I know I am... what do you suggest I do?"

John Wayne turned to him, his heroic stance outlined in an ethereal glow by the fresh day. His brimmed hat leaned to the side, his wrinkled face curled into that beautiful smile he was known for. That smile that made you think John had been through it all two times over, and that whatever he had to say was the god-damned-honest-to-God truth. His pistols shined, his chest glistened through that unbuttoned Waylon Jennings shirt. His blue eyes gleamed, and as Bojack looked into them, a tear formed at the corner of his own. This wasn't a damn impostor, this was The Duke himself.

"You gotta grin and bare it, son... and most importantly, you gotta survive."

Bojack sniffled.

"You ready ta get movin' or what?"

"Yes, John Wayne!"

Bojack jumped to his feet, dusting the seat of his pants. He slung his backpack over his shoulders, his weapon tucked snugly into the elastic of his pants.

"Now," John said, "I say go northeast... I just got a gut feelin' that you shouldn't stay here no longer than ya already have."

"Northeast. Sure thing Duke."

Duke was gone. There was nothing but a cold morning breeze in his place. Bojack turned to face northeast, a renewed sense of purpose stirring in his heart.

Day One: Morning - Reijin - 06-02-2008

Continued from: http://www.cdbzrpg.com/forum/showpost.php?p=459589&postcount=3

The dawn was rising into the sky as Reijin climbed through the final section of forest into an opening of what appeared to be an abandoned city. He had intended on just focusing on his goal but there seemed to be no true point behind his actions so far...

He was simply playing the stall and survive game, which was not the way he liked to play the game. He had no one to interact with aside from the crazy voice within and was already seriously wounded.

Walking through the ruined city, he found himself glancing down at what seemed to be a shattered mirror. As expected, he saw the image of a green eyed purple haired woman temporarily shifted over his own form a moment before it faded. He caught himself studying her features for a bit longer this time before she vanished, however.

She was very beautiful, he had to give that to her, but it seemed that a portion of her face had been replaced with a bit of circuitry that ran down her cheek. He would have assumed that she was a cyborg of some sort but she'd specifically mentioned that her parents were both half breed Saiyans... Although that in no way ruled out the cyborg option.

Looking up into the city he found himself curious about exactly what had happened here. One could only assume that this city was created on this spot in this form or transported here for their amusement... But knowing the people behind these events, that could not be assured.

Finally after nearly an hour of walking in silence, he found himself clearing his throat a moment and then speaking up. "You are quiet." Another moment passed before she actually replied.

This just seems... I can't explain it quite yet. This place bothers me for reasons I'm unable to go into.

"Well then I think I just found my new home," the younger Saiyan chuckled.

To answer your thought earlier... I am no cyborg. I have however had somethings done to me that I don't wish to explain at this time. They weren't exactly pleasant, though it comes in handy now and then.

The solo fighter looked around at the shattered windows adorning a number of buildings and the empty vehicles that lay dormant on the abandoned streets. "So I take it that you have suffered a terrible childhood and get your jollies by infecting random warriors across the Northern Quadrant?"

She didn't respond immediately, so he found himself entering a building, noting a flashlight on the desk nearby as well as a few other noteable objects. While stuffing the light and other things into his bag, she finally spoke again, in her own way.

I do not expect you to be pleasant about this. However, I have no other choice. I have done nothing but help you in the past and while I do not expect you to honor a favor, I have no real option other than to request your help in due time.

"With?"

I'll get to that.

"I'm sure you will," he grumbled, sitting back into an office chair. After a moment, he bolted forward. "Wait a fucking minute. You set me up!" He jumped up from his chair and reeled around, facing another mirror on the wall and seeing her beautiful face with the shoulderlength purple hair. "I can't believe I didn't piece this together earlier."

She said absolutely nothing so he spoke again, having decided that the silence was a confirmation. "So when were you planning on telling me? And what exactly is your relation there? Sister, mother, daughter? Genetically created clone to explain the terrible childhood resulting in the facial decoration?"

...I'm not sure if I follow...

Reijin laughed triumphantly. "So how did Violet manage to set this tournament up so well for an easy win? I didn't think that bastard Bardock would have grouped up with someone in this manner but then he may not have known that Violet had someone working for her on the inside. Ah... that decietful bitch."

I think you misundersta-

"Oh nice try, Ms. Uzumaki. So what's the relation exactly? I'd just like to know exactly what type of blood you are to her and how this tournament got fixed in her favor. I'm going to bring this shit down."

I don't know what you are talking about hon-

"Bullshit. I've been there and done the mind games, and I don't care if you are in my actual mind or not, that doesn't give you this super advantage there. How the hell did a parasite being like yourself controlled by Violet seed itself within my mind nearly five years ago in that dreamworld anyways? I mean... Why would you even do that and help me claiming you need help if it was for something as low profile as this tournament, or is there something special about it that I don't know?" he continued rambling until her next words finally silenced him.

My last name is Briefs.

Reijin stopped midsentence and his words lingered as the dawn of realization sunk in. This could mean quite a few things. But it answered a few questions for him just as much as it proposed quite a few. He only had one answer though before he had to sit once more into the chair. "Oh."

So I have no idea what you were talking about.

"Oh."

You've never met me before, but my mother was Pan and my father was Trunks... before he entered the fusion in this timeline. Before you came to earth with those earrings.

She said it without anger, malice, or even regret. She simply stated facts. Reijin only had one reply as he stared into the mirror at himself, his face completely white. This was, of anything that had ever happened to him, the most unplanned for and strangest thing that he could have imagined.

"Oh."

Day One: Morning - Uno - 06-02-2008

Uno sat against a demolished building, resting himself up before all the mayhem and bloodshed began. He unzipped his issued bag and pulled out his weapon. The weapon was commonplace, but very useful. However, Uno was more interested with having a quick bite than preparing for battle. Setting the weapon aside, he pulled out a loaf of bread from the bag, as well as a bottle of water. Uno then opened up the bottle and took a sip. “Ah!” he sighed, “How invigorating!”

The peaceful warrior then looked to his side to see a cute bunny rabbit. It was slightly hidden in a bush, but it was clear that it smelled the bread. Seeing nothing wrong in sharing, Uno broke of a small piece of bread and motioned for the bunny to come to him. Surprisingly, the rabbit’s head sprung up, and it slowly crept toward his offering. Its tiny teeth bit into the clump of food, and happily began nibbling on it. Uno took a deep breath as he looked up, watching the light of the sun break through the horizon. “This scene cannot get more perfect!” Uno declared!

As he slowly leaned in to take a bite, the tiny bunny jumped up and snatched the loaf away from him. It quickly scurried off, leaving the hungry man breadless. “That son of a bitch!” cried Uno, grabbing his weapon and gear to chase after the bread snatcher. “I’m about to have some rabbit stew!”

The bunny swiftly ran, swerving past boulders and jumping through bushes, desperately trying to outrun the angry man behind it. Uno wouldn’t let the thief get away, jumping and dodging every obstacle the rabbit made for him. Occasionally, he would trip over a rock or two but he was determined to capture that rascally rabbit.

Eventually, the chase extended out into some clear, grassy plains. The wide, open space was refreshing, but Uno didn’t have time to waste. The tiny creature was getting away, and he wouldn’t have that. He grabbed his pack and threw it forward. It landed directly in front of the bunny, which crashed directly into the sack. It tried to stand back up, but it was already too late. Uno had closed the distance between them, and brandished his weapon at the bunny. The frightened critter was helpless to stop the angered man’s next move, and turned its head away.

Silence.

The rabbit looked back up at Uno, who had lowered his weapon before dropping it to the ground. He sighed, shaking his head before looking at the helpless creature. “I…just can’t kill you. You can go, and take that loaf with you.” Then, as if on command, the creature scampered off with the bread, leaving him alone once again.

Uno feel backwards onto the soft grass, spreading his arms and legs out like a kid making a snow angle. He let out another sigh. “Can I really be in a competition like this if I can’t even kill a stupid bunny? Maybe signing up for this was a mistake.” He shook his head as he slowly picked himself back up. "No, I can't myself now." He picked up his weapon and pack and stood up. Looking around, he spotted what appeared to be a small village. “Guess I’ll head there now.”

But before he headed out, he saw the bunny hopping back at him, still carrying the bread in its mouth. It got close to Uno before dropping the bread at his feet. The white-haired warrior stared quizzically at the rabbit, as it stared back at him. He bent down and picked up the loaf, still staring at the rabbit. “Thank you?”

The bunny then stood on its hind legs, waving its paws in the air and slowly walking toward him. “Do you want to come with me?” Uno then asked. The bunny jumped up and down, very excited like. “I’ll take that as a yes.” he said, picking up the rabbit from the ground and placing it in his arms. Standing back up, Uno and his new animal companion began walking toward the distant village.

“Hm…” Uno wondered, “I guess I’ll have to name you now. I’m not very good at this.” He wondered for a moment, before an idea popped into his head. “I’ll name you Grenade!”

Day One: Morning - Paragus - 06-02-2008

The elderly saiyan’s body was having trouble adjusting to a long walk so quickly after taking a nap. His knees were buckling and his eye was closing against his will. A long yawn would pour from the mouth of saiyan warrior with every step he took. The irritating voice of Karl and fear of death at any moment managed to keep him awake though. He shook his head anyway as extra insurance to get in the game.

Flashes of light began to poke there way through the trees of the dense forest. The bright sun was a nice change a pace to the dull morning. Para pushed his way through another patch of giant leaves and plants. It was times like these where the saiyan wished he pulled a machete from his survival. Once the saiyan pushed his way from the labyrinth of jungle vegetation, he found a dirt road leading to a small village.

He walked through the center of the abandoned village cautiously. The cottages actually seemed in pretty good condition and would make for good camping conditions. In the midst of his surveying, the one-eyed saiyan managed step on a large twig causing a loud cracking sound to echo throughout the empty town. Para winced expecting to hear gun shots or an explosion, but there was still silence. After a deep breath of relief it was time to use the signal. Para huddled over and cupped his hands over his mouth.

“Ca-Caw! Ca-Caw!”

The silence of the ghost town was suddenly broken by a returning call just a few feet away. Footsteps began getting closer and Para readied himself. A familiar face stepped from the cover of barely standing concrete wall. Uno gave the saiyan warrior a wink before stepping from the safety of the wall.

“Why did that have to be the signal? I feel like a fucking idiot kid.”

Uno laughed as if that was his subliminal intention all along. He walked over to one of the cottages and took a seat on its small steps. The weapons specialist hadn’t changed much since there encounter with the construct and the saiyan was still unsure about the young man’s alter ego. Para shifted his hands into his side pockets and began kicking a small pebble down the dirt path.

“Sooo, whats next?”

“We have to wait for one more guy, then we leave.” Uno answered.

“Well you have fun waiting out here. Im going to check out the accommodations.” Para said with a smirk.

The saiyan elite walked into one of the small cottages. Cobwebs filled all the corners and the walls were layered with a thick coat of dust. One small cot stood at the far end of the home and a makeshift dining area to his left. Para walked up to the small cabinets that lined the top of the eatery. The saiyan reached for the small white knobs and opened its small doors.

Uno almost jumped out of his skin to the sounds of Para’s screams in the cottage. He grabbed his weapon and sprinted into the home. On the floor Para was wrestling one of the biggest Boa constrictors the blue haired youth had ever laid eyes on. Gasps of breath came out of Para’s mouth in whining form. The saiyan laid motionless; paralyzed with fear as Uno dropped to the floor in a fit of hysterics.

“Please...Get it off me...”

Uno reached over and lifted the large snake and through it out the door and back into the jungle. Para stood up and brushed himself off as if nothing happened. His eye twinkled with moisture.

“Are you crying man?”

Para leaned closer. “You tell the new guy what just happened and I will kill you.”

Day One: Morning - Bardock - 06-02-2008

The first sounds of life began to echo along the environment, the island of Dante awakening at last as the sun showed its sleepy face. What remaining hours were left of darkness dwindled away, revealing a sweeping landscape filled with hidden warriors waiting to spring out at a moment’s notice. No longer having a need of it, Bardock doused the makeshift campfire in dirt, so as not to create any more plumes of smoke than had already been puffed from the flames.

His injured side of his face began to itch, and subconsciously, the saiya-jin scratched at it. The dirty fingernails tore open the freshly-sealed wound, and blood began to dribble down his jawline. Violet made a face, clearly discontent with just leaving the missing ear be. Bardock paid her concerns no mind. Losing an ear was not nearly as bad as losing an eye, so he was much more fortunate this go-around. If that pitchfork prong had found a different mark a few more inches the other direction, things would be a different story. That was the last the bruiser concerned himself with what could have been. He had received his battle wounds, he would bear them proudly, and he would move on to the next contender.

The saiya-jin whipped out his paper map, the new danger zones having already been marked off. He stood quietly in contemplation, plotting their next move.

Violet edged next to him, and leaned over to observe where his finger was tracing along the cartograph. She jabbed an index on a nearby square. “We should go here,” she suggested, tapping on the coordinates.

“Why’s that?” Bardock demanded curiously.

“That’s the best location,” she explained, and began to point out all of the advantages.

Bardock folded up the map and placed it back in his bag. Her argument seemed to hold water, and any location was good enough for him really. It didn’t matter where you were when you killed someone. Whatever place was the same as another when it came down to that. Consciously, Violet scuttled away, realizing she’d gotten close again. The roughneck wasn’t too bothered by it. Not even the warmth of her closeness could distract him right now.

“Let’s roll,” he confirmed. The powerful duo sped off through the sloped territory, keeping their pace steady and even.

“Get this,” Bardock called out, barking out a directive. “If either of us dies, we both go back to Earth and meet at the ship.”

Violet paused a moment before responding, her earlier uncertainties arising. “Does that mean you’re coming with me?”

“Your shit’s still there,” the man answered, not really a definitive reply. “And if the time comes, if you don’t come at me, I will kill you.”

He would do it. He would do it even if she didn’t fight back. Just like he had done with Hasky so long ago. She was only as good to him here as the weight she pulled, regardless of their recent history. The saiya-jin was set in his ways, and wasn’t about to change now.

Bardock kept his eyes peeled, scanning the immediate area as they scurried along. The effeminate announcer had brought something to everyone’s attention. This year, they were dropping random weapons, the first one being a sniper rifle. A firearm of that caliber was worth something, especially if others flocked at the chance of getting it, which meant a guaranteed fight. The saiya-jin mused the concept over. He could find a fight whenever he wanted this way, and if he was good enough, he’d walk away with something dandy. Ultimately, Bardock decided to bide his time. He was a hunter, and a hunter let opportunity meet preparation.

However, thinking of something, the fighter added aloud, “Keep your guard up. By now almost everyone’s allied up and the chance to pick off strays is pretty much gone. Everyone will be moving.”

Violet grinned, shooting the brawler a confident look. “Believe it or not, I have played this game before.”

Bardock cracked a side-smile as they leaped across a small ravine. He only hoped she could deliver.

Day One: Morning - Burter - 06-02-2008

Face to Face

Paragus, Raspberry, Uno

Raspberry was just minding his own business. The Grotor-jin was content with the situation: plucking apples off of a tree in the tiny, empty village. As quick as they fell off of the stems, they were thrown into his mouth to feed his hunger. Who could argue with fresh apples, right?

The game had been slow so far, but he was happy just chilling out. After all, better to let everyone pick each other off then to get injured in the process.

Chik-chik!

The sound alerted Raspberry, who looked up to see the wrong end of a shotgun aiming right at him. Behind him, the calm Uno stood, holding it in one hand after pumping it with the other.

The gun erupted, blasting the tree next to Raspberry and obliterated most of the bark. The gator monster lept to the side, running at full speed away from the attacker. Uno pumped and fired once again, though this one hit a house behind Raspberry.

The chase was on. Uno lept after the huge gator, who wasn't anywhere near as fast as he was. The gun exploded again...then again...and again. Raspberry finally spun behind a house, moving into the backyard of the abandoned building.

"Ha!" Came a grunt as a one-eyed saiyan smashed his foot into the gator's jaw. Raspberry fell to the side, against the chain-link fence and onto the ground. "Got you!"

Paragus threw a punch down, only for Raspberry to catch it and then snag his throat. Paragus let out a grunt as he was lifted up into the air by his neck, cutting off his air supply. "I didn't want to fight," Raspberry said simply. "You should have just left me alone!"

The saiyan raised up his arm and punched the grip Raspberry had three times to no avail. Now losing oxygen, he had no choice but to raise his other arm up, smashing Raspberry's elbow in the wrong direction, shattering the bone.

"Aaaagh!" The Grotor shouted, releasing Paragus, causing him to land flat on his ass.

Raspberry opened his eyes, still pain, to see Uno standing there in his action pose, arm outstretched and shotgun pointed forward. With Paragus down, he finally had a free shot.

And he took it.

Day One: Morning - Burter - 06-02-2008

Face to Face

Aero, Android 17, Celipa, Zangya

"Certainly nice to see some friendly faces," Aero admitted, grinning at the two beautiful women in front of him. The three were standing in the middle of what used to be a main street. It was now packed with destroyed cars and rotted trash. "It's been pretty dull so far."

"I guess it'll be safer with three," Celipa noted, nodding to Zangya.

The Ader shrugged her shoulders. "I guess that works. The more, the safer."

Inwardly, all of them were weary. Sleeping with any of these people around could mean an easy target for a quick elimination. At the end of the day, only one person could win...not three people. Two of them would have to die at some point and they knew it.

From behind a large, ruined bus, crept an Android. The good thing about being mostly made of cybernetics meant he was immune to both ki sense and scouter trackers. He peeked around the corner, grabbing his weapon. Three people...with a single though, he clicked on his upgrade and his power rose inside him.

Immediately he kept out, holding up the boomerang. Not being skilled with the throwing, he simply raised it up and bashed it down onto the back of Aero's head, sprawling him sloppily onto his knees. "Agh!" He grunted, "Not fair!"

Seventeen grabbed the man by his shoulders and lunged him backwards with ease, slamming him into the bus. "Tough," he explained. Aero landed anticlimactically onto the ground.

"Seventeen?" Celipa asked, shocked by the actions of the man.

The Android turned, smirking. "Hi, Celipa."

A growl came from his left, which made him turn to see Zangya leaping at him. Thinking quick, he ducked a punch and elbowed her easily in the gut, enhanced twenty times his normal power thanks to his upgrade. The Ader fell to her knees where took a hard kick to the head, cracking her skull open and sending him onto the cement.

"Damn you!" Seventeen heard, spinning to see Celipa leaping forward, the last of the trio. The Android, still significantly powered up, caught her wrist and took a look at the weapon.

"A fork?" He asked, bewildered, "You were gonna fork me?"

One solid uppercut sent Celipa in the air and onto the ground with one massive thud.

Both women were now unconscience. Seventeen turned as he heard the man, Aero, standing up and nursing his arm. His scouter gave a hint that Aero was starting to charge, but the cyborg raised up his hand. "Don't bother," he said simply, before blasting the man backwards into the bus again, this time knocking him out.

That was it. Seventeen walked in, charged up to x20, and demolished all three of them. Instead of finishing them off and eliminating three more from the competition, he simply took their bags (but not their weapons) and walked away, leaving them all with no more food, no more compass and none of the supplies they had gathered thus far.

"I'll let someone else deal with you," he said as he walked away from the bodies. "Pathetic."

Marketing ads for Dante's Abyss began immediately. News articles flew around the DA websites. Seventeen? A villain? Or misunderstood?

He didn't give a fuck.

Android 17 has everybody's supplies, but not their weapons. He is tired for 24 OOC hours.

Zangya has a massive head wound. Minor injury.

Celipa has a cracked jaw. Minor injury.

Day One: Morning - Android-18 - 06-02-2008

It was now time for the sun to arise, and it came gloriously across the sky. The clouds that had once fought against the brilliant rays were now transformed into beautiful colored strokes on the pallet that was the horizon. The sunrise was beautiful, and the air was becoming less crisp and warmer against the skin. The girl was just now taking a break, having trekked far from where she had begun. The hills were becoming sloping fields around her, whilst purple and yellow meadow flowers tickled the surface of the waving long stemmed grass. It was in a small copse that she stood, her lips to the canteen and a small bit of bread in her delicate fingers. She tossed it into her mouth before taking another brief swing and stood silent in her small camp. It wasn’t much of a camp, just a shady place to rest her feet.

A twig snapped and her senses perked attentively. She stared ahead, and then turned slightly from side to side. There was a presence here, and she was not sure whether it was friend or foe. She left her sack upon the single rotten log in the small thicket and gracefully fled the scene. She moved through the bush and treaded lightly against the wild growth. She could see the shadow of a man, and she could smell him…and he smelt barbaric. She crept up on him, and as she got closer his appearance became recognizable. Eighteen smiled lightly, it would be him.

Their meeting was as casual as usual, she pointed him out, gave a teasing response and he was nothing but dumbfounded. He held out his deck of cards, and she stared at them as if they were foreign things. “Well, um, sure.” She took one of the laminated items from his grip and looked at it. He took it back, without looking, and shuffled the deck. “I didn’t know you could do magic tricks.” She commented before taking a seat on the mossy log. A butterfly took flight from a small gathering of flowers and fluttered across their path.

“Neither did I,” Raditzu replied and his eyes followed the insect, its bright white pattern with blue specks was rather attractive. “Is this your card?” It shot at her as he flicked it so cleverly with his fingers. She caught it and looked at it, then at him, and then back at the card.

“Impressive! This is the card.” She lied, and handed it back. “You’re cute when you’re being an entertainer. You could quit your job as a superhero and join the circus.” She teased him and then smiled genuinely.

“No such luck, babe, I don’t think wearing tights would suit me…plus, they ride up…and that just won’t fly.” He shuffled the deck again and looked to the sky. “So, anything familiar here?” he suddenly asked and she looked at him with a mouth full of water. She had taken another sip from her water bottle.

“No, I’m afraid not.” The android responded upon swallowing and set her things into her pack. “You know…we haven’t actually been alone in a long time.” She stood up and took a step closer to the Saiya-Jin. “Did we used to be very intimate?” she asked, looking into his eyes.

“Well, we used to…and then things got complicated.” He looked back at her, but quickly added. “It wasn’t you, babe, it was me. Besides, we never had the time.” He reached out for her, but she dodged aside, to his surprise.

“I think I’ll make you work this time, from what I’ve been gathering you weren’t exactly a model boyfriend, were you?” she stepped back now, but playfully.

“Well, no, not exactly.” His eyes showed a slight hurt, but he reached for her again regardless.

”We’ll just have to work on that, won’t we? I’m a new woman after all; I think you could turn over a new leaf for me. I don’t remember the past, so we’ll say all the nasty stuff didn’t happen.” She dodged again as she spoke, but he moved quicker than she could anticipate and he had her in his grasp, her back to his chest. He held her tight, but lovingly.

“Nasty bad stuff, not nasty good stuff, right?” He asked in her ear.

“Ew, what the hell did we do? Wait…I don’t think I want to know.” The android made a face, thinking of kinky naughty things that she may have done.

Raditzu burst out laughing. “It was a joke, hun. I get what you mean, and trust me; I don’t want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Now, how about we do something productive?” he let her go, but she turned around just as quickly and took him into a hug.

“Yeah, I could go for something productive.” They laughed together before breaking apart once more so that the android could lightheartedly run away.

Day One: Morning - Hellfighter 17 - 06-02-2008

After a while on the ground, Seventeen stopped noticing the lights on his collar; there was just a blur circling around him. Finally, he remembered that, on his back, was a duffel bag. Taking it off and pulling it in front of him, he peered inside to see the contents. There was a large, metallic object that took up a bulk of the space, so he decided to take it out. It appeared to be a long tube with a handle at one end and a hole at the other. At the handle was a small trigger, which Seventeen decided to pull back. When he did so, a couple of small bursts of energy went flying into the sky, circling about one another but going straight along. This immediately startled him, with him falling back and the tube being thrown up into the air.

When the android’s head hit the ground, all was right in the world. The dirt on the ground mingled in with the hair at his neck. The dirt was quite cold, which made Seventeen relax and allowed him to let the joints in his body lube up. Within a couple of seconds, however, the metal tube was on its way down, straight for the man’s head. The dirt in his hair was too euphoric for him to register the oncoming impact, even though his eyes were wide open. Soon enough, though, it did not matter, for the tube was lying to the side and Seventeen’s eyes were closed.

*

Seventeen, the possibly-maybe-who-knows? robotic-like-ness person, otherwise known as PMWK?-RLNP, was floating in the air. Just by a couple of inches, but that was not the point—the ground was not supporting his feet, which caused him to panic once he noticed it. ‘What the hell do I do?!’ he said, looking up to the sky. It was mauve in colour, and littered with clouds everywhere. Some of them even seemed to take a certain form, such as humanoids. These humanoids would move towards one another and, after a couple of seconds, start fighting. Seventeen could even swear that he heard cheering going on, but he could not tell where it was coming from. Soon enough, though, he saw Karl Jak on the ground, his forked tongue darting in and out of his snake head, and his hands were clapping, where they looked identical to a human’s.

Looking back into the sky, the ravenette, for his hair was raven-black-coloured and “ravenette” was the proper word for such people, saw that the fighting match was over. One of the fighters knocked the head off of the other, and out of the neck came a rush of gold and red. Speaking with his hands facing upwards and at his side, Karl Jak said, ‘See? Wasn’t that just right?’ Shortly after, the gold came rushing down, and it seemed to take the form of a ray of sunshine, drenching the left side of Karl. The red beam soon followed, and it took the form of blood, dropping on the right side of the snake-headed man. Oh, the narrator nearly forgot to mention: none of the blood mixed with the other side of Mister Jak, as though the ray deflected each droplet.

The two rays ran out quickly enough, leaving the host to be covered halfly in a golden aura that extended an inch or two off of his body, and the rest dripping in blood. Walking towards the android, he stuck out his tongue, and a drop of blood fell onto one prong while on the other a blob of brilliance gracefully fell. He then pulled his tongue back in, slowly, curling it up as he did so. Once the snake mouth was closed, Karl let out an ‘Hmm-mm’ and winked at the ravenette with his blood-soaked eye.

Day One: Morning - Hellfighter 17 - 06-02-2008

Karl Jak placed a hand on Seventeen’s shoulder, which caused him to drift down to the ground, so that he made logical sense like everything else in reality. ‘How did you do that?!’ he asked.

‘Quite easy,’ the host replied, ‘I thought about doing it.’ He then wrapped the golden arm around the contestant, pulling him into a walk. ‘You know, you need to do something for me.’ Jak then stared at the ravenette’s face, noticing the lack of comprehension. ‘What I want you to do is kill someone. Now, I know you might be thinking, “Why me? I have things I want to do, like pick flowers and prove mathematical theorems!” Well, there is more to life than that! I’m sorry you weren’t aware, and it really isn’t your fault that no one told you, but there are other things to be done—sometimes things you don’t want to do.

‘They are, I assure you, a necessity. People like you are the reason why planets keep on spinning and spinning around. If you were not here, or the 2.7 billion like you in the galaxy, well, I’d have to do it all myself. Would you like that?’ he asked. Before Seventeen could give a response, Karl slapped him across the face, with blood splattering over his cheek and sunglasses. ‘That was a rhetorical question. For someone who is named ‘Seventeen,’ you sure aren’t smart. Now, onto what I want you to do.’

Looking from side to side, Mister Jak stopped, placing a hand on each of the ravenettes’s shoulders. The blood on his head twinkled in the light of the mauve day, nearly outshining the golden aura. ‘The person I want you to kill wants to kill themself. If you don’t do it, then a suicide will be committed—I cannot have that on my watch. If they wish to not be alive so bad, then they should do the decent thing and let someone else kill them, right? Right.’ The host stopped his speech for a couple of second to let out an echoing hiss, which seemed to be the snake form of a hiss.

‘Who are they?’ Seventeen asked.

‘Well,’ Karl started, letting his head droop a couple of inches, ‘you’ll know when I tell you. Just be ready for when the time comes.’

The next second, Karl Jak was gone. Seventeen looked down at his clothes and, peculiarly, he saw only smears of red and none of gold—only the blood was left to be seen.

Drip. Drip. Drip. The rain had subsided, but some had collected in the crease of Seventeen’s mouth. When he awoke, his mouth spluttered a bit, trying to get the water out of his mouth. Although he would not “drown,” it was quite irritating. Immediately, his eyes widened and he jumped into the air, landing perfectly on the ground. Picking up the metallic tube, he started running. He soon dropped it, and upon picking it up again, he decided to place it in the bag on his back. Now he was free to run again, placing one leg in front of the other quit rapidly, but his arms were splaying all about, whack-whack-whacking against his side every few seconds.

Day One: Morning - Orion - 06-02-2008

"Tollash!"

A voice screamed in pure horror, the name the only lifeline that was perceivable to them. The desperate call was almost inaudible against the constant, life threatening explosions that erupted out of the dirt from unpredictable, sporadic directions. Shells of ki tore apart the terrain, showering Orion with clumps of dirt and rock. Violent vibrations never ceased; just as stability was returning to the saiyan leader and his platoon, another seismic rupture obliterated their footing. Ordering his men to take up an defensive position, Orion dove behind a solid rock just as an enemy projectile decimated the earth on which he once stood. His muscles burned with fatigue and injury, blood staining most of his navy blue body suit. Any remnants of his saiyan battle armour were vestigal at best.

"Tollash!"

"OK men!" the squadron leader exclaimed over the white noise that disrupted their communication, "the main cannons are targeting our centre! We need our quickest, agile warriors to make a zig-zag dash towards them and do their best to draw the fire! Then, when they're distracted, we --"

Orion's haphazard battle meeting was ended rudely by another shower of ki shells. This time, the majority of his platoon were hit. Their bodies were shred into bloody pieces as the fatal projectiles connected with them, the noise of the detonations drowning out their shrieks of agony. The bombardment continued heavily, leaving Orion with few choices.

"Fuck it!" he cursed. "FUCK IT!" He spun his head. "Tirak! Tirak! Where are the false moons?!"

Orion's eyes caught the image of Tirak laying on the floor, his legs crushed by two large boulders.

"Oh, no. NO!" The distressed warrior, throwing any regards to battle tactics out the window, charged for his injured friend, running through a Russian Roulette-styled warzone. "Tirak!"

Orion slid to his knees as he approached the dying saiyan.

"Tollash..."

His world flew into a tailspin, his ears failing from the intense overload of the ki shell explosion right beside him. Orion only saw a twisted, spiraling vision of the field before his consciousness was aggressively wrestled from him.

"TOLLASH!"

-----

"No!"

Orion awoke with a start, his one eye wide open. His breathing had become heavy, but being free from his nightmare, he regained some semblence of peace. If only he was ever free from his nightmares forever, though. He would have to sleep again eventually.

Taking a few moments to centre his mind in reality, he stood to his feet, his bag slung over his shoulder. The sun on Dante's Abyss was crowning over the horizon, bathing the ocean in golden sparkles. Whatever darkness night imposed was almost eradicated, chased without pause by the light's will. After the good six hours the saiyan veteran had dedicated to sleep, he started to make his way out from his position. He supposed that good rest would be scarce on this island, and so risked the night for the perceived benefits of boosted energy.

Giving a slight moan of disapproval when he tried to fly and failed, the invigorated warrior began a fast sprint across the loose ground, kicking it up as he travelled. Even if his life had come to an end, this tournament would be the perfect place to reclaim that for the eternity of Heaven. How long had he felt dead in a waking man's body? Too long, he mused.

But now, he would forget all of his past. Just for now. He could never separate himself from those memories and experiences, no matter how painful or hardening they were; no, those people and times shaped him into who he was at his core. Yet, the lifelong struggle with self forgiveness and pity were put on hold for now as he searched for that which his demons robbed of him countless years ago. His saiyan spirit.

Even remembering that he could reclaim it stirred something within Orion. It, perhaps, never left him. It was merely buried beneath himself, choked by his failures and broken promises. Yet now, even a scant thought at the old days where he waged war for a living, tearing down civilisations at the drop of his huge, were-ape sized foot, brought resurrection from that decomposed corpse; resurrection that portended to revitalise his mind, body and soul for all time, the thing that he was so certain was beyond salvation.

However, as much as he could taste it, nothing was certain. It wasn't realised yet. Only the heat of battle, the thrill of competition for competition's sake could administer the vital augmentation that he so mused upon. He needed to attack from the shadows again, striking out with force, to bring his foe to their knees with unbridled saiyan fury.

And soon, Orion thought to himself, that will be mine.
