The awesome encapsulated in the pencil scene has enough energy to power the entire planet for a whole month.
I loved how the Joker went from a scary psychopath to pure hilarity at the drop of a hat. Burning the tower of money with a guy still on top of it = horrifying. Dressed as a nurse with a faulty detonator = hilarious. I can see why there is so much buzz about giving Heath an Oscar for that. Seriously...like look inotohis eyes and the guy is not fucking there it is kinda creepy.

Just got out of the theater. So fucking awesome.
Joker was insane and manipulative and ten steps ahead of the game all the way. Did anybody else notice the "Harvey Dent" sticker on his nurse's uniform? Attention to detail right there. I was also surprised with how much Dent was incorporated, and his last-leg stint as Two-Face was brilliant. Shame somebody got blown up in the process.
Two thumbs up.

Totally awesome, I hated that Dent had to die, I would have loved for him to be the next villain but who knows.
The Hospital scene with the detonator was truly amazing, I honestly don't know how Heath pulled off the Joker act so well.

I didn't. My friend took me and he was in a hurry. However, the entire theater applauded after the movie ended. Epicness.

I fucking knew something was coming after the credits. =/ My cousin was being a pussy "omg we gotta get home..."
The Two-Face performance was lacking, but it worked within the space of the movie. It added to the awesomeness, and was a good (tragic) story. Kinda disappointed they wrote him in such a "back-seat" fashion (he totally got the shaft on the plot), seeing as how awesome a character as he is. The way they wrote the story, there was no other way that it could have ended. Kinda frustrating.
Ledger was awesome. I didn't think anything Ledger did could top the pencil scene when I saw it, but there were quite a few just as cool. Especially the (first) monologue about how he got his scars.
I don't like Bale. =(
PS: This lady's kid was crying at the Joker scenes. It was great.

He changes his story about the scars, which is part of his character's self-confusion. Both Two-Face and Joker were built up excellently with very little background necessary, much better than previous films.

Yeah, I liked the first story better than the second, and thought having him change up the stories was pretty stupid. It discounted the intimate moment we had with a lunatic, I don't like that. >_<
Heath's face when neither of the ships blew up was pretty epic (albeit subtle). Speaking of which, wtf was that about? Why were there two ships in the water? I lost the story at some point.

I don't get why everyone is on Jack's cock. He was a horrible Joker, in my opinion, and for the reasons I loved Heath. Jack was some money obsessed crook with a gang of men and a painted face. Heath played a psychopath that killed his minions and burned all the money he stole. He's random, we never really get to the heart of WHY he does what he does, and that's awesome.
I totally called this, on the forum, years ago. I said the next Joker needs to be darker and more of a random lunatic, like he was portrayed in the darker comics. They did it, everyone loves it, you owe me prizes.
My rankings have always been Tommy as Two-Face > Jim as Joker > Devito as Penguin > the rest. Jack Nicholson is a great actor, but that role stunk. It didn't scare me, it just annoyed the fuck out of me and was inaccurate. =/

Heath's Joker was too awesome to fathom. And I loved the changing of the story of how he got his scars. He changed it to frighten his victims. With Gamble, he made it revolve around his father. With Harvey's wife, he made it revolve around his own wife. So he changed the story so it could fit the situation.
And my favorite part was when the policeman assigned to watch Joker attacked him. Joker took him hostage and held a knife to his throat and made demands. He demanded a phonecall. That was both hilarious, and later we found out pretty intelligent.

The two ships were the ferries that were the only means of getting out of Gotham since Joker and rigged the bridges and tunnels.
He wanted to prove that people on either boat could take lives and be enveloped by the chaos he was constantly creating. However neither could pull the trigger which was what Batman told Joker, that deep down all of Gotham Citizens are good at heart, even the worthless small time criminals.

That boat scene is a classic sociological experiment, which made me love it more.
The pace of this movie was a bit jerky at times and its plot dense, they really packed two (trucking awesome) movies into one. I could see some people getting fatigued at the end. I watched the Extended Editions of the LotR in a row once. I was fine.
I'm not sure if the pacing was a bad or good thing yet, not after one watching. This movie is definitly a movie you need to see multiple times to get the full effect.
Anyone catch the Jokers one joke when the SWAT team was relocating Dent? He obstructed the road with a fire truck. On fire.

Switching the stories was intentional, the Joker is not supposed to have a past. Chris Nolan wrote him as a force of nature, he is not a character but machinery for the story about Batman. Not knowing why he is the way h is makes him that much more terrifying of a figure.

Just got done seeing it. I was hesitant at first at the hype, and while the movie overall didn't really deliver, Heath's performance definitely did.

Yeah, I noticed that. The scene right before that was also awesome, the one where Joker just appeared out of nowhere and shotgunned that cop. He really wasn't fucking around.
And I totally noticed all the main streets from the movie. I'm gonna touch that wall that Batman flipped off of with his motorcycle next time I'm downtown. It'll be kickass.
