The image ties in to sorrow on a strange level. It shows a strange, hardened, sorrow that he would feel towards some one close to him. The sorrow is more better portrayed(sp?) via the splintered background. IT shows how Zarbon would feel more torn up on a diffrent level then on the outside.

Zarbons pictures, the closest I could find to looking as if he was at a loss of what to say.
The girl in the picture is supposed to portray a fading love.
The bG: He's in the light, but she's fading into the darkness, though there is still some light in there.
The symbol(Kanji) in the top right corner is the Symbol for Sorrow.

I gotta say that, personally, I didn't feel like either artist did an outstanding job of conveying the theme, though I would have to say that I think 2 came a bit closer.

The first is a bit more stolid looking, while the second one would have been fine, but that background character is just...it just doesn't sit right with the rest of the picture, I think. So I'm going to have to go with 1. Perhaps, if this sig gets modified, make the green a different shade, lime just isn't the right color.
