[Notice] - Ander - 03-25-2006

The roleplaying guide has been updated. Check it out, my friends.

[Notice] - Alsa - 03-25-2006

I saw that before. Good job Bardock! Looks like you're reading a cdbzrpg users manual or something.

*Claps*

[Notice] - Ander - 03-25-2006

I added stuff to try and make it look a little more pleasing to the eye, and easier to read.

[Notice] - Super Buu - 03-25-2006

I wince when I think of how long that must have taken. It's incredibly comprehensive, nice work. I'd actually recommend anyone who has trouble with English basics. Tongue

[Notice] - Kazuya - 03-26-2006

Well, hopefully, my FAQ will come along soon...good job, Bardock!

[Notice] - Alsa - 03-26-2006

I'm working on a joining guide. It's gonna say what an RP is, how to do it, and what a long RP looks like, and the way to set the joining title up... But, yes bardock, nice one. You must have carpel tunnel like hell...

[Notice] - Android-18 - 03-26-2006

We already have a joining guide, people just don't read it.

[Notice] - Ander - 03-26-2006

Thanks.

Could somebody on staff replace the old version on the join board with the new one, please?

EDIT: Thank you. My will is done.

[Notice] - Ander - 04-26-2006

Added the "Show, Don't Tell" section, revised "Capitalization" to include dialogue examples, added a link to a site that lets you download Microsoft Word (for 99 cents), and finally took out a bit in "Starting Off" about Nameks beginning with Mystic Attack (the one where they stretch). I realized it was a technique you had to learn, so it was fixed. Super Buu noticed and pointed it out to me.

Once more, could somebody please copy/paste the changes to the join forum when they have time? Thanks in advance.

[Notice] - Hellfighter 17 - 04-26-2006

Screw you, pal!

[Notice] - Burter Jr - 04-27-2006

I didn't even know you still had mod powers here. Go you.

You should like, use them sometime. That would be so cool.

=o

[Notice] - Ander - 04-28-2006

*flexes*

[Notice] - Burter Jr - 04-29-2006

nice new title

[Notice] - Ander - 07-28-2006

Fixed some errors, links, and added another tip. Can a staffer please copy/paste over the one in the Joining forum? Thanks in advance.

[Notice] - Hellfighter 17 - 07-28-2006

Yessir. I'm gonna read that again. Just 'cause.

[Notice] - Ander - 07-28-2006

Ah-thank you. Be sure to point out any mistakes you find. Hartman's Law, you know.

[Notice] - Hellfighter 17 - 07-28-2006

I don't know that law. =(

You forgot 'I'd' in the capitalization section. Your exemption for that section seems a little ambiguous, too. Some may think because it has an exclamation point that that is why the part following the dialogue is capitalized, when that is not so.

Also, I think it'd be neat if you did a bit on semicolons. It might be hard to explain, as even I just say "When it feels right," but it'd be good to see the rules laid down since Word changes some commas to 'em for meh.

Oh, and pointing out spellchecker.net couldn't hurt.

[Notice] - Ander - 07-29-2006

Hartman's Law of Prescriptivist Retaliation: any statement about correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling, is bound to contain at least wun eror.

Checklist:
  • Put "I'd" in the capitalization section.
  • Changed the example and modified the description. There was already an example of exclamation points and capitalization.
  • Added a brief semicolon section. Not very good at explaining those.
  • Already had a Spellchecker in Quick Links, but changed sites and mentioned it more frequently.
  • Added "have" versus "of."
  • Bonus: added a Schoolhouse Rock section. =)
