I don't have 'then' versus 'than,' but most of that is covered here.

Also, I'm pretty sure this belongs in RPG D forum, but sadly, I do not have the power to move it there.

When do you use 'effect' and 'affect.' I've looked at the definitions a lot and it doesn't help, and a teacher has never covered it. It's one of the only things I'm really unsure about when it comes to word usage. =\

Affect usually refers to the act of something happening to an object. ie.

"This rain will affect the drought we're having."

It also helps to remember that affect is a verb.

Effect is used when some sort of process or action leaves behind or creates a new state of being for an object. ie.

"The effect of the stock market crashing means we'll all lose our jobs."

Effect is used as a noun.

Darn, you know that actually clears it up for me? There's a good chance that that was copied form an online dictionary, but for some reaosn that just made it click. Thanks.

No problem, Internet brother. I actually did that off the top of my head, doing my best not to make it sound confusing. Who needs dictionaries when my brain works better?

On this note, I was going to make a list of the most commonly-mispelled words. These are the ones I see all the time.

Rediculous. This seems to be a growing fad, I see this spelled incorrectly more times than not. It's ridiculous, to be honest (I am so good).

Flamming. Flame + ing = Flaming.

Ascension seems to be a favourite on Chubbs, and I've seen it spelt in a great variety of ways. Sometimes just 'asension', but most commonly some more elaborate form, my favourite being 'accession'.

Feel free to make some additions.
