I started writing a post in my notebook a week and a half ago, but I stopped when I started writing about an actual Namek village. I remember, in the show, the Nameks either growing some sort of weird blue cabbage (or was it a flower?) in those small plots. But, since the Nameks obviously DON'T EAT, I was wondering if anyone could remember just what they were...
Was it, like, the only plant to survive the disaster or something? Aside from grass, and freakishly homogeneous trees?

Dende said so while talking to Bulma and Gohan I belive while Krillin was talking to Guru. Might be wrong but thats what I remember from so long ago.

It has been stated in the series that namekians only need water to survive. The fields they tend to have some rare plant that needs taking care of, so they assist its growth because it is very important to them.
