Vampire Traits - Burter Jr - 09-17-2006 Come up with an idea and I'll give you a yes or a no. For now: Quote:not needing to breathe No. Just because we have a rebreather Vampire Traits - Android-18 - 09-17-2006 I know Bojack (not sure if it's the current one) RPed/s a Vampire. I'm not sure what traits he has/had. Vampire Traits - Burter Jr - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Android-18 He had none, really. He might have given himself good hearing or something. Vampire Traits - Jack - 09-17-2006 Heightened senses? Vampire Traits - Kazuya - 09-17-2006 I can't really decide whether this would be better in the RPGD or not. However, I do read a bunch of Vamp books, namely Laurell K. Hamilton, and there are a few handy things that she uses. First: Ability to feed through telepathic means. You'll probably have to go after telepathy for this one, but basically, its the equivilant of drinking blood to get your strength back up when you're running low. Basically, its projecting your mind to a certain individual or individuals and extracting their essence, which would then travel back to you. They don't feel a thing, and other than feeling slightly dizzy, they're fine. Second: Triumvirate: When a vamp claims a person as his own personal servant, read: human servant, and a set of metaphysical marks are placed on them (an this is between two other people, other than yourself), a supply of energy is shared between the three that is much more than they would have individually. As one member of the tri grows stronger, so do the rest. What one feels and projects, the others feel. You can also share and feed like this, sending someone of your tri who can, for instance, be out across town, out to feed for you, and after opening the marks between you, can feed like that. Both of those require telepathy however, so if you're going to do them, you might want to go after tele first. Vampire Traits - Kazuya - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dracula Man that sounds basically like a special teir. since you're a non transformer, you'll have to follow the sk rules. EDIT: Just have your SK triggered by something. >.> Like, the moon or something, whichever. Vampire Traits - Android-18 - 09-17-2006 The thing is, Drac, the reason we don't let you have a Vampire power up is because there is only one vampire in all of DBZ. So if you want those vampire power ups, just get spiritken, kaioken, and all that and customize them. Vampire Traits - Android-18 - 09-17-2006 That's why we have spiritken. There a re WAY too many different races for us to make seperate transformations. So as far as you wanting something similar to Oozaru, I'm going to say no, because it won't fly. Vampire Traits - Sullivan - 09-17-2006 Mhm. Dozens of people play as unique characters, from races that could have God-knows-what trait. And they just, make due with the rules that're here - hence the phrase "Non-Transformer". A broad category, made for characters like yours. Must something special be done, when no one else gets some special rule bent for them? Vampire Traits - Sullivan - 09-17-2006 But the main thing is, this is a DBZ RPG. If you want to play little vampire games, there are RPGs for that, too. When it comes down to it, Vampires were not a main element in Dragonball Z. And they never will be. So, people shouldn't try to make them one. They really don't belong. Vampire Traits - Kazuya - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dracula Man Karin isn't a vampire. He's a cat. >.> Anyhoo, Spiritken can be basically customized to make you into a pair of bouncing buttcheeks if you wanted it. Myself, I have two different forms for both Untrained and Trained, evolving sorta like a pokemon. With frickin' wings, tail, fangs the works. Basically, its up to you to have the imagination of what you do with it. Spiritken is just the name of the transformation over the powerup. x10 and x20 are still basically the same, just different names for the different races. Vampire Traits - Sullivan - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dracula Man I'm not saying that you shouldn't have any racial traits. I'm telling you, that you're making like vampires are some big deal, and should get something special on this RPG. They're not. Everyone else deals with it when their character had a minor role in the series. You've twisted and turned Dracula Man, and that's great for you - but he's not what he was in the series, and in the series, he was just a pale man in boxers. Not some horrible creature with fearsome powers. A thin vampire, in boxers and boxing gloves. Vampire Traits - Ashe - 09-17-2006 No. EDIT: This is not a vampire rpg, and just because you aren't happy with your character ONCE AGAIN does not mean that we are going to come up with special rulings for vampires as a "racial class". As far as the rpg and its rules are concerned, Vampires are simply yet another "Human/Non-Transformer". Vampire Traits - Jesper - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Celipa Good thing I'm not a transformer. =D And okay, so Lucifer is a vampire. That makes two. Two out of, like, a bagillion non-vampire characters. Vampire Traits - Ashe - 09-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Reijin You ARE NOT GETTING special powers just because you picked a vampire for your character. Especially a minor character that was barely shown, to where you now try to add in Underworld to the rpg. EDIT: This is in response to the now edited out post Drac made asking for heightened senses as a vampire ability. Vampire Traits - Kazuya - 09-18-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dracula Man Actually, its ABILITIES, which can possibly be described as racial traits, if you choose to take it in that way. A trait is something unique to that race, and spiritken can lend that bit of uniqueness in the way that a vampire, such as is your race, can transform into something that is UNIQUE to your race, thus, a trait. If you're talking about stuff like hair or some stuff like that, I think you have pretty much the knowledge you need. All in all, my advice is to just go after spiritken, and transform into something that is unique. It'll still be called spiritken, however. Vampire Traits - Sullivan - 09-18-2006 It's borderline infuriating, when someone has to constantly do things to drag attention to themselves, and fit themselves into the perfect scenario. First, the full moon plan comes up in PC3. All of a sudden, you need a full moon transformation. Now that you're told that's not going to work, Vampire Man has to have something else. *eye roll* It doesn't work that way, and it never will. This is a Dragonball Z RPG, not Vampire Paradise. If that's what you want, there are all sorts of random RPGs for that. People come to this RPG for DBZ, not huge horror scenarios involving a vampire that insists upon having countless numbers of NPCs. Vampire Traits - Sage - 09-18-2006 Yes. Android 13 has a physical transformation, but he still only gets it by way of the Android Upgrade. He has no "transformation" as per a special tech. Basically, the same can be said about Drac. While you'll never get a special custom transformation, you -can- have your SK / KK / SKK "transform" your character if you wish. We probably won't stop you. Unless you become like, something totally insane. What I would suggest, Drac, is the whole vampiric feeding thing. Chances are, IC, you need blood to survive. (I don't know, I could be wrong. Maybe your guy is different, I don't know) And like, if a vampire kills a dude, that dude becomes a vampire right? Something like that? Anyway, what I mean is like, under special circumstances, you could turn a -PC- into a vampire. Though this would require both the victim's and staff's prior approval of such a thing to happen. And yeah, this might get shot down, but it's something to ponder, I guess. Vampire Traits - Burter Jr - 09-18-2006 *shoots Bra's idea down* Sorry, Bra. Vampire Traits - Ashe - 09-18-2006 It would have to go through Rad or someone else, b/c I'm not making special accomodations yet again after bending backwards plenty of times. As far as I'm concerned, he gets the character as its given to him. We had an agreement before about that, and now he seems to be searching for any possible loophole to give himself a totally different type of character. The point is that this is a DBZ Rpg. There are TWO vampire characters in the entire series, both very minor characters that exist just because he wanted something humorous. We are not coming up with Vampire stats just for that. Nor any form of rules that will affect other people just incase someone happens to be a vampire here. On that same note, we cannot be expected to suddenly come up with an entire form of Magic just because Babidi and Bibidi exist as playable characters. Yes, they use magic. That means take the rules that you are currently given and use those rules to accomodate you in a way to creatively write it. If you want to use his Ki stats as magic instead, that'd be fine. But to go "can i have the special powers of teleportation? It only makes sense given that i have magic. can i also be allowed to do this or this, even breaking the rules? I mean, its magic!" We may in the future incorporate a system of magic, but for the current game, there is no such support. Same with Vampires, werewolves, and whatever. |
