Quick Question For Staff

While reading Trafford's posts in his Dreams & Doorways as well as his fight with Oriole, a thought came to mind.

With Vad creating his armor (when he does use his plate armor) using Metal Binding, would someone like Trafford, (Sorry man, I hate picking people out) be able to infuse Vad's entire plate armor with energy and ignite it?

Or would Vad having telekinesis naturally deflect that. Or maybe the fact he had Metal Binding. Do I need a custom tech?

This just seemed as a huge flaw I've overlooked. >.>

Vad, i'm not speaking for all the psychos out there, but, personally, i wouldn't. If you spent a custom tech to enhance the strength of your metal armor, i'd RP it as if it were being hit by a ki energy blast, i might be able to ignite bits and pieces on the exterior, but given we're roughly the same CA, i wouldn't be able to ignite your whole armor since you are putting your own strength into said armor.

To support this, when you are Metal Binding something, you are essentially weaving your Ki/energy/magic or whatever through said metal. So he has the same chance at trying to do something to it as he would to try to use it on a lightsaber or something.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense, but at the same time the stance could have been different. It's plausible that he'd be able to interact with it.

Vad generates metal from his own energy like a liquid terminator. So yeah, it's directly effected by his energy.

I know what you're saying, but just to be clear, that ruling doesn't apply just to Vad. Using ki to manipulate metal is just how Metal Binding works; having a specific Custom Tech like Metallurgy has nothing to do with it.
