Custom World Storyline/ Technique Question

I'm developing a personal Saga that I'm going to use to delve into the hidden parts of Vad's history as well as reveal more about Trixie. I want a good majority of it to take place here. I'd be on planet Mercy, but not. How they get there is worked out. I just need to know if it's within the guidelines to roleplay in an entirely different place than the planet your character is on.

May I do this?

EDIT: Double Whammy

If I wanted to create a style of fighting where Vad could quickly switch between his signature blades and hand to hand combat using his fists. Would I need a technique? He would be able to create blades and retract them as he needed in a fight. It could even be considered a combo if you look at it a certain way.

But if you had a technique for your fighting style, you'd be better at hand to hand then someone who doesn't- though some one who has ma spec would still be better.

So...you're saying I can do this? If I so desired I could purchase that style as a technique and increase his hand to hand ability even more?
