Well Shu's character was a metaphor for... Well, people who essentially do exactly what he was doing when presented with such brutality as the various themes in the setting. He was meant to be unchanging, and naive, until that moment with the kendo stick (which is where that metaphor, as well, comes to fruition).

That's how I see it at least. His character was intended to be a tool to cultivate a certain outlook, and pitch it into the mess that is the setting.

Strong World best World

The thing about Strong World is that it's really just a rehash of the Arlong Park arc. Pluses include some awesome animation and being able to see more of the cast in that kind of plot. Minus is that it really doesn't carry the emotional punch that Arlong Park does without Nami's character development.

Yeah the movies do feel sometimes like they are reusing a lot of ideas from the episodes. Which is totally fine if you just want to hang out with the straw hat crew more (which I do). Even six feels a fair bit like more Davy Back Fight at times, but it changes from an extended dicking around episode (at which point I still thought it was the best movie) to the most original movie IMO.

I like Girls und Panzer. There's just something about tank battles. Something goooood.

And since I'm here, should also mention Shin Sekai Yori (or Shinsekai Yori, I don't know which). And that's it. The bare bones of it is "psychic kids in a distant future," but there's so much more to it than that.
