[06] Crafting your Spells
#1
Mages come in a wide variety and the spells they cast come in an even wider variety. Even a simple spells, like throwing a bolt of fire can take many different forms. Using "Firebolt" as an example, let's look at how this could be cast among the different factions.

Song

Song of Flames
Song
Reciting a short verse, a small bolt of fire is sent flying.

Flaming Loogie
Song
Hock some fire crystal, spit some fire, profit.

Blazing Mic
Song
A "mic" style wand set with a fire crystal that allows its wielder to turn their silver tongue into a flaming one.

Tek

Flare Gun
Tek
Fashioned from metal and loaded with fire crystal, this gun can fire off blasts of fire as readily as any mage.

Gauntlet of Fire
Tek
Set with a Fire Crystal, this otherwise ordinary piece of armor is capable of firing small bolts of fire.

Fire-spitting Sword
Tek
Swinging this sword causes it to burst into flames long enough to hurl a small blast of fire.

Ink

Fire Charm
Ink
Scrawling a quick rune onto a slip of paper turns it into a bolt of fire when thrown.

Firebolt Trap
Ink
Inscribing a small glyph onto virtually any surfaces causes it to shoot a single firebolt when someone passes by it.

Flametongue Tattoo
Ink
An intricate tattoo of a dragon whelp belching fire can actually belch bolts of fire.

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to cast a single spell. Don't feel like you're restricted because you want to use Ink or Tek or Song. There are very few limitations about how you cast your spells, so let your imagination run wild.
