Before you read this, let me just state that we rushed at the end. The deadline was reached so we had to post it...
Prewrite
Pre-Teleportation
All of the heroes in the story are in the martial arts tournament ring being introduced when they all succumb to a weird feeling of sickness. The next thing any of them know is that they are no longer in the arena but in a world they had never seen before.
Wandering The New Town
Everyone gathers in the town they were teleported to and are discussing ways to get back, what happened, where are they, and etc. But is seems that the planet is inhabited by a whole new race...a midget race. The village sage enters and tells them about the grand wizard who may be able to help them return back to their world and possibly gain rewards along the way as this wizard has the ability to make wishes true. Having accepted the task a yellow brick road appears to show them their destination.
Walking The Path
While traveling the golden path they happen upon a few odd beings that all know of this grand wizard and wish to help with the journey for their own personal gain at the end. Unfortunately, they also encounter some rather tough fighters who have their own agenda spanning from revenge to greed and other things the wizard can grant them.
Trials
Throughout the journey there are places where the road is blocked and they must complete a trial to pass. Should a trial be failed the group will be delayed until it is completed.
Trial of Courage: Each fighter is separated and faced with their greatest fear. The only way to pass this trial is for each party member to overcome what frightens them most.
Trial of Heart: One of the party members is captured in a nearby castle that will disintegrate in half an hour. Our heroes have that long to find their comrade before deciding to leave him/her behind and proceed or risk their lives searching for their partner. -Staff Note- Only staff knows that the only way to proceed is to choose the comrade over advancing.
Trial of Wit: A series of intellectual puzzles, riddles, and questions fill up the next trial.
Final Destination
After arriving to the wizard?s castle they learn that to get what they want they must defeat this seemingly old man in battle? but there is a lot more power behind this scrawny being than meets the eye. But it seems, it isn't an old man after all. The wisdom and the power of the man seems to bring age to his body. But once he powers up to his highest level, his youth is revealed along with more power than one person to reveal...
Description of Planet of Oz
The planet is unlike any other before. The area where the party arrives is an area with small houses and resembles the planet namek. But instead of green grass, it is purple, and there is a race of midgets that live there. On the journy, the group will discover new lands to cross and have to run through fields and climb through rugged terrain. Only, the rugged terrain is at the end near the dark tower where the one person they quest for lives.
Rules
Purpose- To Keep the SAGA on path, but also remaining flexible.
Ignoring those in need- The non-playable-charachters, or NPC's, that you will meet and that will accompany you on your parties adventure are very important to the story line. Ignoring an NPC, or refusing to take him or her along in your party will result in a seriously negative response by the NPC that will result in a similar conclusion as taking him, but at more pain to your party. IE- Ignoring an NPC might, depending on the NPC, throw him into a violent rage, attacking your party and forcing you to let him come with you. Same as brining him, with much suffering to your party.
Note: This does not mean you have to be nice and kiss their asses along the way.
Wandering off the trail- While obviously some exploration will be allowed for adventure and treasure hunting purposes, venturing too far away from the path (IE- away from eyeshot of the path, or if all members are off the path at once.) Will result in all your party members blacking out, and reawakening at the starting point, at the beginning of the path.
Note- This is in no way a means to erase any creativity and flexibility from the SAGA, it is just to keep this long saga from being an epic and from parties trying to cut across a meadow for instance and appearing near the end of the path on the other side, thus avoiding all trials and defeating the path's purpose.
Attacking other Party members- Attacking other party members, this may be allowed if the reason is seen fit by the SAGA moderator. Fit reasons may be one member basically being an ass and taking over the group, ordering everyone around, etc. But killing off party members so you solely reap the benefits, or for reasons not seem fit by the moderator, may result in the Grand Wizard to reject you your "wish to return home" on grounds that your heart is evil. The result in the SAGA ending without you returning home is a torturous death.
Godmoding- This is a basic of RPing, DO NOT GODMODE. This cannot be emphasized enough. If your charachter reaches a trial, and just repeatedly breezes through them, an alarm should ring in your head that you are godmoding. This SAGA is supposed to be fun, and challenging. Do not ruin the latter by Godmoding. Penalties may result in loss of reward or a "accident" to your charachter along story lines.
In final, enjoy the SAGA, have fun with it. Get to know other charachters and develop your own, stay away from these basic rules and your party and the moderating staff should be on good terms. Goodluck.
Rewards
Survivors
The few characters who survive through the saga will be rewarded with the following: teleporation back home, a 5,000 zeni prize, 15 TPs to distribute how they see fit among their stats, and whatever items or zeni they find along the way. Of course, the staff may deem one or two worthy of an item or powerup as they see fit.
Deceased
The other characters, whom are not lucky enough to survive to see the saga finish will be sent directly to the afterlife and recieve the following to their roster: a 1,500 zeni prize and 5 TPs to distribute how they see fit among their stats, and whatever items or zeni they find along the way. Of course, the staff may deem one or two worthy of an item or powerup as they see fit.
Races
Munchulls ? A midget-like race of people with advanced knowledge of their homeworld. It seems that all that goes on on their planet is absolutely no surprise to them. They might possibly through a psychic link with their planet, but no one is truly sure. They skin is a slightly purple color, and they often wear bright flashy clothing. They are very strange looking creatures, and all of them look surprisingly similar. Upon getting to the planet, the race tells the warriors to follow the golden path, which will take them on their great adventure. They are a goofy race that just likes to have a good time when not being tortured or bothered by their enemies.
Munkeens (750,000 ki)? A race of winged creatures that work for the evil wizard. They are ruthless and nasty to the eye. Covered visible scars where their fur was cut straight through, they somewhat resemble monkeys... if they had been brutally beaten and deformed. They carry energy weaponry of different varieties, and are expertly trained with them.
Treybens (1,200,000 ki)- An angry race of tree-looking creatures. They are not very fast, nor very strong, but they have amazing defensive capabilities. This is the only reason they survived for so long. They don't stand up as much of a match for a group of foes, simply because they can easily be beaten on. A one on one match however, they can show you where their power is. It almost seems as if most attacks placed on them do no damage to them at all. (Hint: maybe a well placed destructo disk... or similarly sharp object would cut them down to size?)
NPCs
Lance Ofher: The hired announcer for the event. Although his speech sounds fairly clear, it was obviously not the reason he was chosen as the announcer. There?s a rumor going around that he is a good friend of the Lockouts. (Pl: 1,000,004)
"The Key": Nobody really knows his real name, and it really isn?t a matter, as everyone knows him by this name. The leader of the Lockouts, and an extremely strong fighter, he brought many men from his planet in order to show the true strength of his empire. He's not only fighting for the dragon balls, an ultimately a powerful wish, but, if he does well in the tournament, he may have to expand his grounds...
Holy and charismatic actions are something foreign to The Key, and he is often pointed out for his crude, rude, and cruel actions. His moves in the ring reflect his personality outside of the ring almost as closely as a mirror.
(Pl: 80,000,000+ unknown max *strength oriented*)
Impact: Like most fighters, he uses his first name only. This warrior is a single entry, and appears to be a friendly man. His huge figure may be slightly intimidating, but his kind heart is portrayed well in his smiling face. His goal for the battle is unknown thus far, although he is considered an underdog. He seems to be rather emotional for someone of his stature, which gives off the idea of a rough childhood. He seems to be looking for some men to group up with... Or women. (Pl: Average: 35,000,000-75,000,000 *Strength Oriented*)
Pin-d: The bitch. He is basically the man you see doing the work for almost anyone. He was hired by the tournament to do random errands for not only the administrators, but, if he has time, the competitors as well. Spineless and nearly brainless, this man hesitates on almost all orders before being scared into doing it. His power-level is that of a normal human, which makes is slightly surprising that he is even here. His lack of common sense makes him an extremely annoying asset here, its unknown how long he will be here for. He's also extremely cocky. (Pl: 4)
Turbo: A fair sized opponent. His name reflects his wishes, but currently, turbo is infact one of the slowest fighters this side of the tournament. His Defense is immense, which it would need to be in order to endure the amounts of hits he receives. The Saiyan-jin is embarrassed about his lack of speed, as it is something he's tried to enhance o his own, as well as with armors and items, but to no avail. His main goal is obvious, and he?s not looking for any help. (Pl: 25,000,000-65,000,000 *Defense oriented*)
Checker: A finalist from the planet Namek. His speed is commendable, along with his other stats. He is always willing to battle anyone who steps forward, even when he knows his is extremely out matched. He fights for the honor of Namek, and could care less about the rewards. (Pl: 10,000,000-50,000,000 *Speed oriented*)
Intro Post
"The 39th Martial Arts Tournament, in two days!" A loud voice yelled over a speaker. A crowd gathered around booths to see who would sign up. Warriors of all statures seemed to be lined up, waiting for their turn in line tto sign up for the Martial Arts tournament. It was the biggest thing ever. This year there was a whole new system the producers of the tournament made. This time, instead of being on Earth, people anywhere could join because of their new teleportation tubes. This brought them all to one ring on one planet. And that planet was Earth.
"Sign up while you still can! The booths close tomarrow at noon, sharp!" The same voice was yelling, enthusiastic and joyful. Everybody wanted to know who would participate and everybody wanted to watch it.
The same things were said among all of the other planets, it was a big tournament, and anybody who was a warrior, would be there.
OCB: Everybody post in this thread saying you want to join.
Teleportation Post
The crowd roared. People at home roared. The whole universe was watching. There were televisions turned on in almost every house on almost every planet. Everybody wanted to see this tournament. People couldn't even anticipate what would happen in the next three days of fighting. It would be the biggest tournament yet.
"Let's here it for the fighters who made it passed the preliminaries, folks!" The announcer spoke. Everybody knew his name...Lance Ofher. There was something more than him just wanting to announce though, but nobody could quite see it.
Behind the announcer, a line of fighters walked out. Some serious, looking straight forward, and some joyful, waving their hands to the crowd and smiling wide. Everybody was honored just being here after the unseen preliminary round. The crowd wanted to see the first fights, but missed them but got to watch all of the biggest fights, all leading up to the final round which was where it got serious.
Finally, all of the warriors were in the ring, standing in a line facing the crowd before them. The crowd yelled and screamed and roared and cheered. People at home were betting on who would win, just by looking at them. Lance Ofher started to read off their names and each of them gave a gesture when their name came up, to show which was which, it was a traditional thing at all of the martial arts tournaments. But then, when the announcer was in the middle of the names, a bright light flashed through the stadium that held the ring. And everything went pitchblack, and a ring of light surrounded the group, all of the warriors seeming to fall to the ground, sickly. They coughed, all of their eyes were closed and they couldn't open them. Their bodies were too heavy to lift or move...then they felt light as a feather. They felt like they were floating. The light cut through the darkness finally and everything went back to normal, but the crowd was silent. Everybody stared in awe at the ring. It was empty. The announcer smiled to himself, so nobody could see, he knew it would happen...
--------------------------------
There was a slight thunder in a peaceful place. The sound of over a dozen bodies were falling to the ground in a whole new enviroment. Was it part of the tournament? Was that supposed to happen? Where were they? Some of the group members finally opened their eyes to see purple grass and small buildings around them. When the group looked around, they saw a race of weird looking midgets surrounding them, staring at them...
Where were they?
