You will be judged on your answer in the following:

1) First and foremost, why should you be selected to play?

Although I may have only been a member of this site for a little under a year, I feel as if I have writing here for ages. That?s a belief I base solely on the fact that I heavily enjoy this place. I enjoy spending my free time glancing over the recent shenanigans that happen in the Asylum or just reading roleplays from other members. I also enjoy lending a hand to anyone who requires it, since I like to view myself as someone who knows the ins and outs of Chubbs rather well (prior to joining, I did a fair amount of research into how the rules work, which in this day and age is something that new joiners rarely do *sigh*).

This place has become a part of who I am (I know that probably sounds a tad dorky, but I can?t help it, this place got me reinterested in writing), and I just want to do my part and leave a positive impact on the community.

2) What qualities do you possess that will make you the Idol?

First of all, I?m online for a majority of my day. That in itself permits me to be around whenever something goes down or my input is needed. I?m also view myself as a rather adept leader, and I?m sure that anyone that?s a member of Civil Unrest can vouch for me. On a larger scale, I?ve also helped a few websites get off the ground during my tenure as a member here on Chubbs. Furthermore, I like to view myself as a rather creative person, whether it is story ideas or ideas for a fledgling RPG. Lastly, I?m also a very understanding and patient person, and in the same vein, someone who knows all too well the joys of playful banter and revelry.

3) Tell me any previous experience you have with running an RPG. Included should be the name of the RPG, the genre, and how long it lasted.

Bra?s DB/Z/GT RPG ? This was your basic DBZ RPG that I began back in 1999. Due to my age at the time, it was nothing but a fairly simple, chat-based world in which people mainly just goofed around in. In the beginning, it just served as a spin-off for me and a number of others when an older RPG died out. Around 2001 I converted it to play-by-post, and it worked in that function until activity dwindled due to the aging members and the fact that DBZ as a fad was dwindling as well. I finally shut it down in mid-2003.

Dragonball Z Alternate Reality ? Another DBZ RPG that was initially rather horrid in its design (the other administrator simply snatched most of his descriptions and so on from this website). When he finally recruited me after a week or so (the site began back in November), I made it my mission to add as much individuality to the site as I could. I?d say I achieved my goal, but the site still burned-out after a month or so for reasons I?ll still never know and I quit. The remaining admin (who had left the burden of remodeling the site to me and was a no show for a month or so) eventually came back and recycled the website. I believe that Gavin (Dende1) is the last surviving member of DBZ:AR.

Friend or Foe ? A free-form (is that the best word?) RPG originally founded by Android 13 and a former Chubbsian. I joined the site as a third administrator around November/December and helped design the original layout that would lead the site to success (I designed the original techniques page, shop page, a martial arts school, and the IC universe). Although the now forgotten second admin vanished, 13 and I continued to steer the site towards good times. I eventually had to step down as Co-Administrator in March due to a billowing school schedule.

4) Finally, you need to write a short essay/description (200+ words) of what you feel being a staff member of Chubbs is all about. What do you think is necessary, what do you think has to be done. Be detailed, as much as you can. Don't kiss our asses, we aren?t looking for compliments.

When I look at the staff I see a lot of things that they embody. Chief among those would have to be patience and understanding. There have been numerous times that I have watched situations unfold and been amazed at how badly or well they?ve been handled. I find myself completely enamored a lot of the time at how selfless staff tend to be to some of the most utterly annoying people, whether it be in the join forum or the OOC category.

Another aspect I see that is necessary of staff members is creativity and open-mindedness. A staff member needs to be able to constantly supply a flow of ideas for quests, and also formulate means to keep the OOC community an interesting place for people to be?this epitomizes itself in the form of the numerous games and side-RPGs that have become prevalent recently.

Without these things, Chubbs has an inclination to bout with tumbleweeds in the OOC world. Also, staff has to contend with a number of asinine suggestions and dim-witted questions from the membership, and they tend to do so, for the most part, calmly and decisively.

Furthermore, being a staff member involves some degree of sacrifice and responsibility. It its true, as it is often pointed out, that staff have lives of their own, yet they still manage to balance the issues of Chubbs along with the issues that arise within their own lives at the same time. The job of staffing can sometimes be a double-bladed sword as sometimes they manage to do all this and still maintain an active role OOC, despite the fact that their presence IC has diminished to the point of inactivity.

Although this isn?t as much the case nowadays due to the MIA system, it is nevertheless something that happens to a number of staff members in their fledgling days. When it comes to things that could be altered, I can only really look at the random outbursts and dwindling activity. Luckily, both of those chinks in the staff armor rarely make themselves prevalent.

In conclusion, the mantle of staff is one that can only be worn by a human being who is not only creative, but also patient, understanding, and dedicated to the duty they must execute. I view myself as being fully capable of exemplifying all these traits and being completely capable of handling the burden of being a part of the CDBZ RPG staff.

Same thing as Toma. You wrote a lot in the last question, and I don't think everything listed is something you're capable of doing. Name one that you'll have trouble with

No problem.

Dedication. Not to the staff work, but to dealing with the new aspect of having to be active IC and do a whole slew of work OOC. I talked about how sometimes staff members wane in the activity IC-wise and I think I'll have a lot of trouble adapting to the responsibilities of being a staff member and still contine to remain as active as I have in the past. Besides that, I'll also be moving onto college soon, and I am certain I'll have trouble when that gets thrown into the mix. However, all of these problems are things I intend to struggle hard with to overcome if I am appointed to staff.

Creativity: As I listed in my prior experience, I've held positions on a few other RPGs. In those capacities I was tasked with having to redesign and develop a majority of the ins and outs. Friend or Foe is an example of this, as a lot of the ideas I implemented still exist there. On Chubbs, I creatively flagshipped the Red Stallions, which was a massive alliance quest from a few months back, and I assisted Android 13 with fleshing out the ideas for the Bio-Android Saga.

Patience and Understanding: I'd say I developed both of these the most while serving the leader of my own alliance. In that capacity, I'm required to deal with all the unique quirks and individual views of all the members when it comes to making a decision, and although situations have arisen in the past where not everyone was left satisfied, I'd still say that I have a good track record when it comes to patience and understanding.

Dedication: I'm still here, aren't I? Now I know that there are people here who have been writing on Chubbs for over 3 years, but how many more people have joined, stuck around for a few weeks, a month maybe, and then vanished again, never to be seen, but I feel I've proven that I'm here to stay. Furthermore, I'm not one of those people who will randomly vanish for days at a time. I'm the exact opposite in that I tend to glance over these forums quite frequently during the course of the day.

I hope those explanations help you with your decision.

As for patience and understanding, you made a good point, but I'd like to further question you on that. In CU, I'd like to hope that all of the members like you (at least in they're stay there) (it would not be very fun if you didn't like those you were goofing off and having fun with). In an alliance, what a leader decides will just affect those of alliance--usually--and since they like you, the decision should be easier. As staff, members don't always like you (BJ would vouch for this), so do you think you'd have the same patience and understanding to do deal with such a larger audience (members will watch your moves)?

I could quote you countless times saying that; otherwise, I wouldn't have used it.

Yes, I'd like to think I would be able to maintain the same level of patience and understanding with a larger audience, mainly due to the time I spent as co-administrator over on Friend or Foe. In its earlier days, I had to make a great deal of decisions that usually didn't go down to well with some of the membership, but were necessary for the forward development of the site. Therefore, the usual result was an influx of people who would constantly bash me because the decisions that were made didn't always go in their favor.

I'll admit, sometimes I wanted to just take a large mallet and crush heads, but throughout the duration of my time on that website I managed to keep a level head and be patient and understanding with some of the most aggravating people alive. Now I know that Friend or Foe, even in its prime, only had roughly 30 or so active members and compared to Chubbs' population that may seem small; however, I'd like to think that whether it be seven friend or (for the most part) 30 strangers, I maintained the same patient and understanding attitude when it came to interaction and dealings with the membership. And, if I'm allowed, I'd like to take it to the next level and serve the Chubbs populace.

I was already going to vote yes, but I just wanted to clear it up. I'm still a bit sketchy on that part, but yes.
