Sent this to both Rad and Reb... but I should've known better then to believe they would check private messages. *Shrugs*
I had been looking through a list of different things I had been planning to put to use in an Rpg should one ever get off the ground long enough to incorporate these and thought "What the hell, maybe Chubbs could be the place to give it a shot."
Basically the premise is adding a sub-category to the Saiyan transformation tree after the initial SSJ ascension. Thinking back I realized that achieving SSJ is quite a difficult task in itself and, for those who ascend, reaching the next leg up is even more the challenge leaving a hard space for them to contend with other races that require training for their next multiplier.
What this transformation does is creates a tier that will not only work to the Saiyan's disadvantage but to an opponent's advantage as well. Adding to impact of this, the change exists only with three core stats being emphasized on meaning there is technically no difference in this stage and SSJ... at least when looking only at ki level. Because this is a more stat-dependent transformation it lends more role playing fodder and can be used as a deciding factor in fights.
Specifics
This "Sub-class" originates from the ascended Super Saiya-jin from the Cell Saga which had been obtained by means of extensive training to result in a substantial increase of body size and strength. Though this leaves little room for imagination, I had played with the thought and developed what can be acronymically dubbed SSJ-P and SSJ-S.
SSJ-P - has to do with emphasis on strength, bulk and endurance which would normally come about with extensive physical training on the body. Along with the combined efforts of manipulation with ki on muscles fibers during training, the results end in an extreme boost in the body capabilities though rendering speed a massively neglected factor. Because of the severity of the ki being produced for the main purpose of enhancing the body any sort of energy-based attacks are also extremely weakened.
Summary: Strength, Endurance, Defense goes up. Speed, Ki, Agility goes down.
SSJ-S - the exact oppose to the SSJ-P counterpart in that training based on speed manipulation and energy restriction allows a more slender appeal to the body which has achieved this proficiency. No longer hindered by the needless expulsion of ki from the body, the Saiyan condenses and stores this addition supply enabling to preform energy based attacks far stronger then their opposing transformation. This stock of ki allows the body to move quicker and more at ease given the resistance of energy randomly leaving the body has been cut down dramatically allowing higher speeds to be reached. Though the withdraw falls with the lack of muscle endurance and strength sapped by the ability to control the ki. Because the muscles no longer produce the energy erratically there is no shock absorbed upon contact.
Summary: Speed, Ki, Agility goes up. Strength, Endurance, Defense goes down.
Leveling the Field
There is no shift in overall ki or additional multipliers attached to the two techniques, merely they amplify one set of stats over the other. Though getting down to the basis of the transformation it would look like so...
SSJ-P < SSJ > SSJ-S
Base Super Saiyan will always reign over the two only because it is the down played equal that balances the equation. Over SSJ-P, SSJ is faster. Over SSJ-S, SSJ is stronger. Using the transformations to excel the extremes basically only allows the Saiyan even grounds in competition with other races, not really against one another.
This is really just something I thought would be worth showing from my achieves. The concept is still very rough but I'm sure if it is taken seriously it could be smoothed out a bit more around the edges and made into something useful.
