Help with Roster?

When I come on Chubbs, I come to write. The main reason I've stayed away is because of the completely confusing nature of the new Roster system, and the general feeling that it is imbalanced (referring to the diminished returns system; I've been gone so long that it could be ancient news already).

At any rate, is there a chance someone "in the know" could walk me through this in AIM?

EDIT: Walk me through setting up my Roster, I mean.

I don't get how it's unbalanced anymore. No writey no stat-ey.

I'd say being rewarded for writing is the best possible way to rate it without being consumed by an elaborate system nobody wants to update.

I mean the Diminished Returns, the weirder nature of stats, and all of the general confusion and contradiction that went down with the upheaval. I completely and totally support the 'writing = stats' bit.
