Custom Techniques That Already Exist

I had two facets to this question.

The first being, could I purchase custom techniques that others have made for the same price if I meet the prerequisites?

The second is, what about techniques that already exist in the show/universe, but are not in the pre-existing cost lists? Like Spirit Bomb. Would I have to ask what the price of that is, or would I just throw down my best description I can do of it as a Custom and then have a regulated price for future purchases?

I don't see why not. They imitation is the highest form of flattery, after all.

There are already plans for Spirit Bomb and Kaioken. Beyond that, though, yeah. Throw down a description and if its doable, we'll letcha know.

Actually I think it would be better if it was required that to learn the same tech as another character, that you have to talk to that character and have them train you.

Though, it's okay to make techniques that are similar to another characters.

I disagree. For example, Piper has 'extra baggage' for her teleportation skill already graded at 45 XP. I was going to use it. I don't see why I can't.

Like I said, you could create your own that would essentially be the same technique. But that you could just learn a customer technique some other character created seems to break the 4th wall, plus how would you explain that with 4 characters have the same technique named the same way and behaving in the exact same manner.

I think that we're talking about obvious things here, Josh, not like "Raditzu's Super Special Dance." Things like Vad's metal defense, which uses telekinesis to shield himself with stuff...that's something you could copy without actually meeting Vad.

That's impossible. You can't have something be the same thing but different.

You have to understand that Alura -- as he explicitly stated -- is talking about general moves. Like my Puppet Show tech. Anyone with posession could learn how to possess more than one person.

Think of Heroes, how Matt Parkman learned to paint the future without ever being 'taught' by Usutu or Isaac.

This is just a matter of using common sense to differentiate basic custom moves and signatures moves.

Yes, anyone with posession could figure out how to posess multiple people at the same time but, like Alura alluded to, there are some custom techniques that obviously cannot be copied without the training of that person (like, i think at least, Goku was taught the Kamehameha and then taught others; or how no one else ever just 'figured out' the Big Bang attack).
