Need better movies on saturday to lure people in me thinks. I think you were on the right track the first time, with films like the original TMNT, just fun nostalgia films, or like the new DBZ movie where everyone could just rip the shit out of it all the way through.

It was dubbed over with (sometimes) hilarious commentary the entire way through. Actually, having never seen Twilight, I was hoping to see it without the guys in the background going "AWKWARD TEENAGE MOMENT #5 COMING UP!", etc.

I had to use avisplitter to split the twilight riff into three parts to get it to upload. The bigger the file the worse it is. I couldnt tell you exactly how long I just minimize the browser and forget about it.

hum, that made uploading a lot easier. should have done that last time :[

i've got spring summer fall winter and spring up on demand now. the original mkv file had subtitles set to some crazy moon language as default, with english as a secondary option. all the mkv splitters were either ass or pay-for-service, so i converted it to avi but only the non-english subtitles transferred to the new format. the dialog wasn't anything special, though, it plays just as well without it. i might start uploading karas and mj music videos tomorrow.

stupid website not allowing me to upload stupid music videos. they're not even big files, they just always end up corrupted for no good reason.

The site pretty much sucks on the upload side. Its bewildering to me why a viable alternative hasn't sprung up yet.

It would become a paid service...

The amount of bandwidth required to make a decent upload stream is insane and costly to maintain.

I dunno about this site. The upgrades they made really do seem significantly better than before: videos play with less skipping/interruption, only half of every page is made of flash rather than the whole page, and a few new bits that I will never use but seem nice enough.

However, the whole point of the place, uploading videos, remains as retarded as ever. The last time, videos would simply stop uploading in mid-transfer and you'd have to start all over again. Now they always go to 100%, but the files end up corrupted more often than not. There is a "retry" option for files that are corrupted, but that works only as often as a successful first upload.

Again I've found this time around uploading anything longer than, like, 45 mins to an hour will more likely than not fail to encode. Avisplitter works perfectly for me, and I try and keep it to 30 minute increments. Uploads a lot faster and encodes in an hour or so.

The current file I'm trying to upload is episode 3 of the Karas anime, AVI filetype, cut in half so it's only 15 minutes per file. I've tried to upload it at least twenty times over the last two days but no dice. The crazy thing is that the first two episodes were Quicktime, one file each, and they uploaded with a minimum of fuss.

I wasn't looking at runtime as a factor, but rather the file's byte size. For some reason episode 3 was twice as large as 1 or 2, which is why I cut it in half. But still, it's a no-go. I cut that movie Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring into three pieces (~30 minutes each), converted from MKV to AVI, and uploading worked fine. I didn't really get any trouble until I started putting MJ videos up, most of them are 100MB or less, and since the problems started I haven't been able to get anything through. This is the exact same scenario as the last time.
