After thinking and discussing it with another, I think Elasticity is a bit inferior as an Ability.
I mean, someone with Metal Binding could become a Liquid Terminator, and could do most of what an elastic being could do, for the most part.
At the same time, as a Namek, am I wrong to assume that with Body Size COntrol that I cant extend my arms like they did on the show?

No. People with Metal Binding cannot become a liquid terminator. I've tried.

You coat your limbs in metal. Metal Binding, right out of the box, is the ability to manipulate metal. Again, right out of the box, you need metal around you to use it. You can't generate it at will. Adding a custom would allow you to use your energy to generate metal as you need it.

Don't know, haven't even thought about it. I only know that a custom is required to convert your own personal energy into metal. IE: Secrete it through your pores and from your hands.

Even if you could turn yourself into metal, you would die. =/
Kind of a bad compromise. Ultimately, metal binding != substitute for elasticity.

Plus you'd expend all your energy and be useless in five minutes, and get your ass romped.

No you couldn't, Lord Vine could but he could transmute all matter.
The old school Metal Binding could let you extract metal from the enviroment, but you couldn't turn something into metal.

Yeah, people have never been able to turn stuff into metal with Metal Binding.

You can manipulate metal. Like Magneto in a sense although his methodology is different. Nowhere have people just had the golden touch ala King Midas and just started turning enemies and friends into metal or turning into T-1000.

Besides, the (creative) control of metal is incredible in its own right.
Magneto, for instance, is either pretty tame or unstoppably op, depending on how creative the storyline writer at the time is.

That does bring up a question of mine, though. Do Nameks get to do their stretchy arms stuff? I assume it's reasonably limited to allow Elasticity to have a purpose, but it would be cool to stretch out and grab someone from a moderate distance with it.
Also, I won't say it's a racial unfairness so much. Changelings get a whole kickass limb in the form of a tail, and horns if they so choose, and humans, well, they know what they're taking in exchange for familiar ground.

Anything that was once considered a "racial trait" is made available for anyone and is not automatically given to those who originally possessed said trait. In this example, Elasticity was considered a racial trait to the "majins" and the nameks. Since it's now an Ability, only those with said Ability can use it, whether their race typically permitted it as a given or not.
