[Server] The Adventure Begins...
#1
Alan made his way down the path slowly, the pudgy reptile hopping up and down energetically in front of him, seemingly leading the way. The teen brushed some hair from his eyes as he looked up, trying so see any hint of blue through the dense cannopy. There was enough sunlight penetrating the branches to signify that it was indeed still daylight.

"Hey, um...DemoVeeman was it?" Alan asked the bouncing animal.

"It's 'DemiVeemon', what do you need, Partner?" The last word seemed to excite him, now hopping a few inches from the ground every few seconds.

"I just don't quite understand what's going on..." The dark haired human stated, slowing to a stop. "A couple minutes ago, I was on my computer, now i'm in some kind of wierd computer simulation. What happened?"

"This isn't a computer simulation, Partner. This is the Digital World where Digimon like me live!" DemiVeemon raised his short arms toward the sky as he explained. "I've been waiting ever since my birth for my partner to arrive, my dream has finally come true!"

Alan raised an eyebrow at the hysterical creature, backing up a little. "First off, you can call me Alan instead of 'Partner' if you want, after all it is my name." He said, fearing his conversations with the little lizard would sound like a bad western movie. "Let's assume that I believe you...that I really got sucked through my computer into the so called 'Digital World'. Why am I here?"

DemiVeemon pondered the question for a bit, sticking his small paw into his mouth. "You were destined to arrive here and journey with me through the Digital World." He finally said, smiling up at Alan.

"Okay, makes as much sense as everything else here." He answered, scratching his head. "What were you saying before about me being your partner and protecting me?"

"Certain Digimon are born to be partnered with humans who enter the digital world, Digidestined. When I get enough experience and after enough time has passed, sometimes i'll Digivolve, or grow!" The sky blue reptillian creature said.

Alan tried to imagine a six foot tall DemiVeemon, quickly dismissing the odd picture. "About the protecting, what are you protecting me from?"

"Other Digimon of course. Some are mean and like to hurt others that are smaller than them." DemiVeemon said, as if he knew the feeling of being bullied.

Alan nodded, looking around for a gang of stuffed animals. "What about this thing?" He asked, pulling the digivice from his jeans pocket.

"The digivice will allow me to digivolve to higher levels." DemiVeemon replied, as if it were obvious.

"And what did you mean before when you recognised me from through the digivice?"

"A little while ago, the Digivice started beeping. So I went to find out why it was acting so strange, I looked at the screen and I saw you! So, I tried to talk to you and get you to come out." DemiVeemon said, still smiling.

That makes sense. He thought.

Having absorbed these facts, he nodded and began his walk again, DemiVeemon leading the way. Trees passed on both sides as the two wound through the forest, making their way toward an unknown destination. The little reptile in front of him seemed to never run out of energy, still bouncing along happily down the path.

"Where are we going, anyway?" Alan asked the creature, still keeping up with the lizard.

"I don't know, we're following the path I guess. Hopefully we don't run into any mean Digimon on our way through here." The digimon looked around cautiously.

Right on cue, something zipped by Alan's ear, wedging itself into the bark of the tree behind him. Whipping his head aroung, the teen observed a small jagged knife sticking out of the tree directly behind him. Instantly, DemiVeemon sprung into action, leaping into the trees to find the assailant. It was not needed though, as a second after the tiny reptile went to climb the tree, a small sphereical blur emerged from the tree branches, landing on the ground below. Now in plain sight, the attacker stood, masked with a swrod slung on his back and chain mail covering his arms.

"Heh heh...look who we got here..." The shifty looking onion shaped attacker muttered.

DemiVeemon re-emerged from the brush, eyes blazing. "Ninjamon, leave my friend alone!"

"Why? Playing target practice with his head is so much fun...besides, you're too easy to hit." The dwarf pulled another couple of knives from a pouch on his waist, ready to toss them expertly.

"I said, Leave him alone!" The small reptile yelled, standing on all fours.

"Oh, so brave now that you have a new friend, what happened to the cowardly DemiVeemon we all love to beat on?" Ninjamon smiled evily, tossing a blade into the air and catching it without looking.

DemiVeemon snarled fearsomely, though it would have been more intimidating had he not such a high pitched voice. Without warning, the ninja hurled his knife at the lizard, the target hopping to his left to avoid the blade. Growling angrily, the lizard pounced on the ninja, uttering the phrase 'Demi Pummle!' heroicly. The assassin laughed aloud, knocking the lizard down effortlessly and drawing his sword.

The dark haired human stood back from the battle several feet, fearing for his small ally. As the ninja drew his blade, the teen ran forward, tackling the miniscule digimon. Grunting angrily, the ninja tried to free himself, swinging his small fists at Alan's exposed face. Dispite his small size, the teen soon found himself with several bleeding wounds, the fact that the digimon had drawn two daggers not helping his chances of success. Finally getting tired of injuries, Alan gripped the Ninja's tiny wrist and flung him toward a tree, hoping to finish off the bothersome digimon. Too his frustration, Ninja landed easily on a bough, pulling the sword from it's sheath as he landed.

"Heh...and now for the coup de grace..." He raised his sword and leapt from the branch, bringing the blade down toward Alan's exposed neck.

"Grrrr!" The infuriated DemiVeemon growled as he pounced from the ground toward the airborne Ninjamon. I'm not letting Ninjamon kill my only friend...

The two collided, Ninjamon finding himself slamming into the ground rather than dealing a blow to Alan. The small repitillian digimon swung his fists rapidly at the predator, ending his combo with a final 'Demi Headbutt!', his overly large cranium slamming into Ninjamon.

Alan almost found himself clapping as he watched his digimon pummle the armed foe. To his shock and alarm, he soon saw DemiVeemon flung from Ninjamon, a small cry of pain coming from his mouth. His fists clenched tightly as he willed his small ally to stand. It can't end like this...

Ninjamon chuckled evily as he approached the now stirring DemiVeemon. "Back for more I see..."

"When will you ever learn...TO STAY DOWN!" The enraged assailant pulled his sword for it's sheath and charged rapidly at the wounded reptile.

DemiVeemon seemed much too weak to stand again, giving it all he had to save his newly aquired partner. He couldn't take much more of this fighting, he was way out of his league. But what could be done?

"Hey, shorty!" The teen yelled.

Ninjamon stopped suddenly, turning in time to see a sharp projectile splitting the air, level with the digimon's head. The dwarf jumped sideways, holding his sword out to deflect it if he didn't get out of the way. The dagger missed it's mark, landing harmlessly on the ground. Grinding his teeth, the digimon turned to where the blade had originated.

Alan stood next to a familair tall oak, having pulled the dagger from the tree and whipped it at the ninja with all his might. The teen now glared at the tiny attacker, a shadow of fear in his eyes. He was already bleeding in several places, the ninja being a master swordsman.

"You want DemiVeemon, you'll have to go through me!" Alan roared as he sprinted at the miniscule threat.

Ninjamon chuckled at the teen's would-be bravery, still holding the deadly blade in his hands. That's right...line up for the slaughter...

Alan dashed forward, aiming to give Ninjamon a good swift kick in the teeth. The little predator was about the size of a soccer ball and would quickly have the same fate if the dark haired teen had his way. Though, Ninjamon had other plans.

"1...2.....3......." The digimon readied his blade as his prey approached, readying a mighty kick.

"Bubble Blast!"

The ninja found himself blinded suddenly, as a jet of bubbles made contact with his sensitive eyes. A second later, pain reared it's ugly head as Alan's shoe made contact with Ninjamon's head, sending him flying backward into a tree. This time, the creature did not land so gracefully, slamming into the unforgiving wood. A resounding crash was heard as the tiny assailant made contact with the tree, before falling to the ground with a grunt.

"Did we...win?" DemiVeemon asked cautiously, looking over toward the dense wall of trees.

"I don't think it's over yet...." The teen said slowly, stepping into the bushes to get a closer look. "This Ninja wouldn't go down that quickly..."

Indeed, he hadn't. The digimon in question had taken up roost on one of the top branches, currently gazing down at the human with hatred in his eyes. No one makes a fool out of Ninjamon!

DemiVeemon looked around the clearing curiously, wondering where the stealthy assailant had gone. Could he really be gone for good? The tiny reptile knew better than to underestimate his lifetime enemy, Ninjamon always had a way of coming back when you least expected it. After all, he was a master of subterfuge.

All was quiet...the battle had seemed to have ended...Ninjamon hadn't been seen since the attack. Alan and DemiVeemon waited paiently for the enemy to make his appearance, no body could be found in the trees to confirm they had won. But, did Digimon even die?

The answer came sooner than expected, a viscious roar echoing from deep in the forest, no visible source.

"No one gets away with making a fool of Ninjamon!"

The small assailant darted from the cover of the trees, a blur of color instantly appearing next to the tiny reptillian digimon.

"Say goodbye to your precious friend!" The enraged ninja roared, holding his blade level with DemiVeemon's head.

The reptile was too shocked to move, a silent tear sliding down his face. He knew the end was near, already two levels lower than his enemy and heavily damaged. "I'm sorry Alan."

Alan was speechless, he couldn't find the strength to move to protect his Digimon, his only friend in this strange world. He found himself subconciously gripping the black digimon tightly, his knuckles white. How could it end like this?

As Alan was holding tightly on to the digimon, rustling could be heard from the trees. Out of nowhere, a Birdamon came forth. It seemed strange that the large bird was able to fit into the brush without being seen, but there was no time for questioning that now. All those present looked in awe as the ginat creature began to stream towards them. Ninjamon, although being a ninja, was not quick enough to react, and was thus knocked away by the firey bird.

DemiVeemon and Alan were left to wonder what would happen, and a sthey shakedin exasperation they were clutched within the large talons of Birdramon.

OOC: This can be one of the bird digimon that Burter had posted about earlier for the upcoming event or not, your choice.
