Kakarot stood next to Gargantum, dwarfed by the blue creature?s impressive size though clearly stronger than the creature. It?d been a few days since he?d arrived at the border to Kirono village, but he hadn?t made a move yet or contacted the group like Super Buu had planned. The saiyajin had decided he wasn?t too good when it came to negotiations and felt that he and his new troll buddy were pretty much the same when it came to leading.

?Lt. Kakarot, General Gargantum!? Yelled a voice from behind the two, both turning their heads in response. ?A scout has spotted General Buu, he should be here in an hour or so.? The young soldier bent over huffing to catch his breath, it appeared that he had run all the way from one side of the camp to deliver his message. ?He appears to have brought Koola?s detachment with him. Both leaders looked at each other and sighed, somehow they knew this would be the outcome and weren?t terribly surprised at the news. Though the fate of Koola was up in the air at this point, whether or not the changeling had run away or been cut down by the pink goo would be known once the general joined up with them.

The saiyaijin looked back at the village for a moment before dismissing the soldier and walking off towards the command tent they?d set up. ?He?s probably going to be in a bad mood, I hope he isn?t mad that I didn?t secure the village already.? Kakarot glanced over at his big blue companion in hopes of sympathy, but the trolls face was vacant less like usual; a creature of few words- other than ?Smash; Crush; and Destroy?.

?Me think that pinky not be so upset,? Gargantum shocked the saiyjain with his sudden words as soon as both entered the tent. ?Spiky hair not bright like Garg, so it okay, he expect less of Spiky hair.? Somehow the giant?s kind words didn?t sit well with Kakarot considering he was just lowered into the troll?s intelligence quotient.

Buu was pissed.

The last couple of days hadn?t worked out quite as he?d expected. He couldn?t believe he?d let that traitor, Koola, escape. Regaining control of the units had meant little to Buu ? he?d barely been able to look them in the eye after the event. All he?d wanted to do was help out Seventeen, and the Outcasts, and he?d fucked it all up.

?General Buu!?

He hadn?t even been paying much attention to the war. All he could think about was one thing ? Koola. How that changeling had humiliated him in front of the men by escaping. That traitorous son of a--

?Hey!?

The golem was startled from his thoughts as a warm hand clapped down on his shoulder. Buu rounded on his lieutenant, Kakarot, who was wearing a look of mild concern.

?What is it?? snapped the monster. ?Can?t you see I?m busy??

The saiyan paused. ?We hadn?t heard from you in some time. You?ve barely been out of your tent in the last couple of days ??

Buu turned back to the desk he?d been sitting at. A pen, held awkwardly between his doughy pink fingers, rapped irritably at their position on the map. ?What of it? Do you need me to oversee your every move??

Kakarot?s forehead crumpled. ?The men need instruction. They need to know you?re doing something instead of just sitting here brooding.? He paused, scratching the back of his head as a silence pervaded the tent. ?I?m not so good with the whole leadership thing.?

Super growled. Kakarot was right, and the monster knew it. He?d tried so hard to prove himself worthy of being a General, but in the end, it had only made things worse. In trying to preserve his image, he?d shattered it. Getting to his feet, Buu turned to face his saiyan companion and nodded gravely. ?I?m sorry. I?ve been too self-absorbed ? I let my personal vendettas get in the way of my leadership.? He nodded gravely. ?Tell the men to ready themselves for instruction.?

The saiyan blinked, a little taken aback by his ally?s sudden change of demeanour. But he smiled anyway before stepping outside.

Flashing his trademark fang-filled grin, Buu pushed aside the tent flaps, letting the sunlight seep in. It was time to take charge once more.

OOC: I'll try and get another up soon, but in the meantime, I needed to get this done. Real-life comparisons galore. =O

Moved again; however, this time Kakarot had not been given a reason for their suddenly retreat from Kirono village other than that it was necessary. That didn?t bother the saiyajin much, but all of the political maneuvering and strategic placing of units was beginning to bore him. He was a fighter through and through, running here and there, communicating with villages and building were of no great interest to him- admittedly he missed the old D.A.

?Ah, it?s so boring.? Moaned the spiky haired warrior. He?d been quite adamant and visual with his protests against being stationed at some rundown ruins which had likely been placed there for mere ambiance and to make the battle grounds more interesting than empty plains.

One good thing had happened since arriving at the ruins; Buu?s sudden revival- not in the literal sense- he?d been withdrawn and very unsociable since his return from trying to track down Koola. Of course, since the pink glob was their leader, army morale was at an all time low. But a few words from Kakarot and this new environment was able to get him out of his shell; it was actually the saiyajin convincing Buu that the troops would be better off being led by a small child then the saiyajin himself- but whatever worked.

?So, how long do you think we?ll be stationed here? It?s not like there is anything important stationed here, just a bunch of ruins.? Kakarot kicked over a crumbling pile of rocks that could easily have been a wall or pillar at some time in the past. ?Not that I don?t mind babysitting rocks,? he added sarcastically. ?It?s just that we aren?t going to do much just sitting here and waiting for the other armies to show up and start something- we?re just rotting here doing nothing.?
