I actually always preferred playing as lesser characters from the show that way I felt like I could expand them and mold them more into my own liking. If I was ever to RP someone like Goku or Vegeta I'd feel so confined. I feel like everything about characters like that has already been established so I'm sort of just....I don't know, it's just not as fun :/

Few and far between, yet there's at least two on this site. Don't get me wrong, I like custom characters more, but I did enjoy playing a lesser canon. Majin Buu and Coola felt confining, while Zangya allowed me to really create something — at least in my mindset.

People like that would also be drawn to custom characters, as they are also characters that you get to flesh out- unlike cannons.

And having a custom character is not the same as having an unknown canon. Because with an unknown canon you can have the urge to make them more relevant than the main canons (such as Goku or Vegeta).

TRANSFORMATIONS

Mass Driver
No the most popular transformation, Mass Driver greatly increases the muscle mass of the user, bulging their muscles out of proportion. This greatly increases their strength and guard. However, the agility of the user takes a 30% decline due to the movement restrictions caused by the enormous muscle mass.
PL Multiplier – 1.5
Duration: 2 posts
Downtime – 2 posts
Requirments – PL of 100,000+

Mass Driver Ascended
Much like the first version of Mass Driver, the muscle mass greatly increases and agility is lost. However, this form is much more maintainable, due to less energy consumption on the body, allowing a longer duration. However, the downtime is a little longer. And agility only decreases by 25%

Spiritken
A transformation attained by spiritual training and familiarity with the planet. Spiritken unleashes your inner-spirit, given by the planet it is attained on. The aura of the transformation and the appearance is entirely based on the user. Some people turn more animal-like in appearance and personality, while others simply experience a change in aura color.

Requirements – PL of 500,000+; Ki of 150+; Wits of 120+; A stay of 3 or more months on a planet

Spiritken Ascended
The next level of Spiritken can be compared to a tier 2 of any other race. This transformation requires for you to train across the galaxy and become one with each planet individually. Like regular Spiriken, each user experiences a different result in appearance. However, instincts are greatly intensified in this form.

Downtime – 3 posts
Requirements – PL of 1,500,000; Ki of 250+; Wits of 200+; A stay of 1 month or more on each planet of a galaxy

Namekian Synchronization
Namekians, though they have no real transformations to call their own, can still sync with other Namekians. This is essentially their art of permanent fusion. Only one of the Namekians stays in control, while the other stays dormant inside their body. The host, however, gains some of the characteristics of the person they synced with. Their Power Levels are combined and multiplied, and this becomes their base PL. A Namekian can only sync twice during their lifetime.
Multiplier – Combined PL of both (PL + PL) x1.5
Duration – Permanent

Revertible Species Transformations
This accounts for the characters in Dragon Ball that had multiple transformations, but there was a population of their race (Changelings, Buu, Cell). These are transformations that are not permanent but do not have a given duration. This means that the user can revert back when they please, but they can also stay in their transformed state for as long as they desire. This transformation has 3 forms, and each of the 3 most be individually worked for.
Form 1 Multiplier – x1.5
Form 2 Multiplier – x2.5
Form 3 Multiplier – x3.5
Requirements – (Form1) PL of 250,000+; (Form2) PL of 1,250,000+; (Form3) Pl of 3,500,000+

Super Saiyan
The legendary Super Saiyan greatly increases the PL of a Saiyan. The hair erects in spikes and turns a golden blonde and the eyes turn a turquoise color. Muscle mass slightly increases and agility is magnified. The user’s aura explodes into the same color as the hair. This transformation requires the user to experience some type of great emotional distress.

Downtime – 2 posts
Requirements: Emotional trigger; PL of 800,000+

Super Saiyan Ascended
After great training in the Super Saiyan state, it almost becomes second nature to retain a Super Saiyan state. Though there is physical boost, the user can maintain the level of Super Saiyan for a much longer period of time.

Downtime – 3 posts
Requirements – SSJ; 100TP expense

Super Saiyan (Ultra)
After acquiring Super Saiyan and Mass Driver, the user automatically attains this transformation. This transformation has power equal to Super Saiyan 2, but gives the user the same fallbacks as Mass Driver does. Agility decreases by 30%.

Requirements: SSJ + Mass Driver Ascended

Super Saiyan 2
The true level after SSJ1. Super Saiyan 2 dishes out the same increases as SSJU, but without any of the drawbacks. All stats (except for wits, which decreases by 25%) are greatly increased. The only appearance difference between SSJ1 and SSJ2 is that in SSJ2 electricity begins to faintly encircle the user’s body.

Requirements – Emotional trigger; PL of 1,500,000+

Super Saiyan 3
The greatest transformation that Saiyans are capable of achieving. The hair still turns a golden color, and erects. However, the golden hair proceeds to grow down back to about waist-level, and the brows of the user disappear; electricity magnates to the user’s body. Though this is considered one of the most powerful transformations, regardless of race or origin, it takes a tremendous toll on the body.

Duration – 2 posts
Downtime – 2 posts
Requirements – Intense training with Grand Kai; PL of 4,500,000+

Bugara Ascensions
One of the most treasured transformations around the entire galaxy, the Bugara Transformation is triggered by the activation of sacred earrings. As legend states, there was only a handful of Bugara earrings made, due to the sheer magnitude of power they can transfer to the wearer. 1 earring can give a man the power to level a planet; 2 and the galaxy may tremble before his might. When activated, the earring glows a powerful golden color, eventually engulfing the wearer as well; increasing the person’s size by a few feet. However, unlike similar transformations that also increase body mass, no agility is lost from the Bugara Earrings. And the transformation’s duration lasts as long as the wearer is conscious.
PL Multplier – x2.5 (1 Earring); x3.5 (2 Earrings)
Duration – As long as wearer is conscious.
Downtime – N/A
Requirements – Bugara Earring(s)

Demonic Incentive
A transformation of incredible evil, Demonic Incentive unleashes the inner evil of its user. It is thought that this transformation is a creation of Hades himself. This transformation has no drawbacks, and just gives the user pure negative energy. The user’s aura explodes and engulfs him/her in complete crimson. Veins bulge from the user’s body as demonic power pumps through the bloodstream. Though this is not a transformation that becomes your base PL, it greatly increases your Power Level without requiring any loss of energy to maintain. However, once the user deactivates the transformation they cannot call upon its power for another month.
PL Multiplier – x3.5
Duration – Infinite
Downtime – 1 month
Requirements – PL of 5,000,000+; completing the 3 tests of Hades

Ultimate Power
To those who always had great potential Ultimate Power can be your greatest reward. Ultimate Power is a fighter’s potential completely unlocked temporarily for a relatively long time. There is no aura or any signal of the transformation’s activation—it simply activates. Many have pondered how this great power is unlocked, and legend is that one more surpass the AfterLife, to the Unknown Unknown, where the Elder Kai can show you your true power.

I'm just gonna drop this, because people seem to be misunderstanding something. I didn't say that people don't like playing as the less popular characters, I said people like playing the good characters. Minoshia, Toma, Jeice, Zangya, Gokua, etc do not count because they were decent characters and some of them were popular because they were mega villians.

What we didn't have was Guildo's, Android 20, and 19's coming out of our asses. Hell people would rather be Zorn than those dudes, or 50 different kinds of Buu, even Fat Buu was hard to keep someone signed in as.

Plus that's only one problem with running a DBZ RPG that uses Cannon's.

Continuity within the RPG goes to shit after a few months because people leave, or change characters. I know this for a fact because on my own, I was Goku Jr., Goku, Gohan, Trunks, and Super Buu. Ages shift too, we had a Teen Age Gohan and Goten, but then Goten left and we got a new Goten and he was a little kid. That's only a glimpse of the clusterfuck that is canon character.

I was Vegeta Jr, I think. Might have been kid Trunks actually, but pretty sure it was Vegeta Jr. as I recall roleplaying with Goku Jr. for a while.

Ummm, no. I was most certainly Vegeta Jr. there, XD. I miss Tom >.>

Edit: I do agree with Josh. It was hard for me to really stick with Chubbs when we were Cannon cause I couldn't stand the scraps that was left over.
