On February 28, the Koenigsegg CCR broke the production road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 388 kmh at Italy's Nardo Prototipo proving ground. The Koenigsegg CCR raised McLaren's previously unofficial mark of 372 kmh set at Nardo/Prototipo in 1993 by over 15 kmh. On top of this the CCR broke the official McLaren F1 record of 386.7 km/h, which was set on the 9 km straight line VW Ehra facility in Wolfsburg Germany. The Koenigsegg CCR is already the most powerful production car in the world and now adds the speed crown, beating out the McLaren F1 (372 kmh), the Ferrari Enzo (355 kmh), Porsche Carrera GT (334 kmh), McLaren Mercedes SLR (334 kmh) and Lamborghini Murcielago (330 kmh).

Actually, the most powerful production car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron. It is available for purchase at a disgusting 1 million dollars US, and comes stock with 1000 horsepower, and a similar (but slightly lower) torque rating, which I'm not about to look up.
Bugatti is the first company to release a 4-digit horsepower production automobile.
EDIT: The Koenigsegg -could- still be the faster car. I don't know the numbers for the Veyron, but I do know it's very, very heavy.

You're actually not getting "tons" for your money. Look at the Hennessey Viper, for example. More power than a Veyron for roughly 1/10 the cost. As a matter of fact, if you're willing to put the work in, one could easily get similar power for 1/20 the cost with an old muscle car, for example. (Some people have built 900+ horsepower resto-mods on $50,000, including the cost of the car itself)
Another selling point for the Viper Venom? It handles better than an Enzo. It handles better than a Veyron. It's faster than both.
Ferarri/Lamborginhi/Bugatti/Pagani/etc =/= Value per dollar. Not even close. The only reason they sell is because of the exclusivity factor. Rich people being able to say "I have one and you can't get one" seems to be Ferarri's best marketing tool.
If you're gonna try arguing with me on that point, you'll lose.
The coolest part of the Veyron engine, in my opinion, is the fact that Bugatti managed to make a 14.0-liter W16 barely larger than a 1.6-liter I4 out of a Honda Civic. (It's longer, but the other dimensions are really close)
EDIT: Turns out even a stock Viper handles better than an Enzo. *Shrug*
SKIDPAD:
Enzo: 1.01 G
Viper: 1.05 G

Your numbers are wrong, bud. I never, ever listed any GTS.. Why would I? They're old. Out of date. The SRT-10 is the new Viper.
Vipers run 500 horse and 525 foot-pounds of torque bone-stock.
The Viper I listed (Viper Venom TT) runs 1100 horse and 1200 foot-pounds of torque.
And I never said much about the Bugatti. I said the Viper outhandles the Enzo. And it does. The enzo may be a bit quicker, but the Viper stops shorter and achieves higher lateral G's.
Stock Vipers can do a 60-0 in 97 feet. Enzos do it in 109 feet.

Dude, are you retarded? I already said it was the stock Viper that outhandles/outbrakes the Enzo.

Yes. A stock Enzo is more powerful. Although, you'll see I did admit that the Enzo was the quicker car. (Albeit, just barely)
I don't know any performance numbers for the Veyron. And I already stated that the Veyron is the most powerful production car in the world.
Even so, that makes the Viper competitive with the Enzo. Seriously competitive. Which thusly proves my point that a Ferarri isn't worth what you pay for, as the Viper only costs about one-seventh what an Enzo does. Follow me now? =D
EDIT: I put you on my AIM buddy list. If you sign on, it might be interesting to talk shop for a while.
